    What if the scrap yard intended to sell the engine?
    A Lothian Olympian is worth up to £8,000 these days. It's a shame you didn't hang on to it ..

      Good point as many of them were in good nick even superior when compared to many ex-London sheds that littered to small fleets that were far worse. Maybe this one had corrosion issues or something else that may have rendered it not for resale. If the engine is salvageable, it would probably be only fit for parts after being over-revved like that. I am planning to preserve a bus this year that will be a Leyland or a Volvo Olympian but I would never treat the engine like that. But I will fix up the overhaul the engine and the mechanical side of things first before I work on the interior. I will like vouch for a Cummins L10 as they are built like tanks.
