    How do you clean it?

    • @jacquesbeaudoin8785
      @jacquesbeaudoin8785 8 дней назад +1

      I had to install a cleaning anchor under the final roof. After topping out, the climb can be climbed/aided/dogged to the anchor from where the single piece in the roof can be cleaned. Back to the anchor, the rest of the climb underneath can be cleaned in a sport climbing fashion. On redpoint attempts, the crack can be safely down aided from any point with the unused gear available.

    What if I start this hobby from 30 years old? Is it posible?

    • @bensanfordmedia
      @bensanfordmedia  8 дней назад +1

      @@newpartnerstore it’s definitely still possible, odds may be less in your favor than starting as a kid but not impossible! There’s a film called 'IAN' about a climber in his 70s climbing hard routes and he started in his 50s. The film is not out yet but it’s made by Matt Raimondo.

    • @bensanfordmedia
      @bensanfordmedia  8 дней назад +2

      I had them on for the film tours because I didn’t want people to mishear Jacques. Forgot people hate subtitles and can choose on or off, left them on when I uploaded to RUclips. Sorry mate

    • @mikeskiuk
      @mikeskiuk 8 дней назад

      @ I can see the sense for a tour. I turned the film off after a couple of minutes due to the subtitles though. Shame as it’s otherwise right up my street and looked really well made.

    Talks about the environment, then does the approach in a pickup truck. If it would have been a Fiat Panda (or other small 4WD car) we could have talked about picking the least worst option. But the pickup truck just screams hypocrite.

    • @bensanfordmedia
      @bensanfordmedia  7 дней назад +5

      @@Mike-oz4cv Firstly, I understand your view but there’s a point at which you’ve gotta be sensible and self-sufficient in remote places too. You’d get bogged and stuck with no help in that Fiat Panda and I’d bet it would deteriorate fast on the corrugated roads too. Sure as hell would be a pain to fix mechanically with minimal parts available in Aus.
      Fiat Panda: Ranges from 4.1L/100km - 5.2L/100km
      Holden Rodeo 2.4L Engine: Ranges from 8.1L - 14L/100km
      I doubt you’d fit 5 of me (6ft 4) with packs in a Panda. Which is possible in Jacques ute.
      There’s also strong evidence to suggest driving an old car for as long as possible actually does the greatest good overall as opposed to buying a newer car that’s more fuel efficient. Jacques was driving a 2005 model. Which we call a ute so if you call it a pick up I’m sure you’re unfamiliar with the conditions you’d experience daily getting to Newnes. Also, Jacques is vegan and he and his family consume the least out of anyone I know, also growing much of their food on their land, I’d say he practices what he preaches for the most part.
