@CAPTAINDRONE798 How does this compare against whoopfly16 from Sub250? They cost exactly the same and seem very similar, in terms of features/capabilities.. so highly interested in your thoughts about how they compare.
If you have good hand/eye coordination then get the Whoopfly (I.e., you play first person shooter video games). If your hand/eye coordination is poor, get the Aquilla.
@CAPTAINDRONE798 Great! I play a lot of first person shooter games, but I play them on PC (not xbox/ps controllers hehe). I hear what you're going for there.. thanks for the feedback, much appreciated :)
Because it is not designed for Pro Pilots like me. Pro Pilots use two joysticks at the same time in various directions. Beginners can’t do this skill, so the drone is designed for the way a beginner would fly.
Nope, not really. The reason I say that is because the pilots of this FPV drone are beginners, thus manual mode will take plenty of practice to master. If you eventually master manual mode without constantly crashing and you learn to do flips, then consider it, but it will significantly reduce flight time.
its me again sorry to be a pain in the ass but i got some of those cheap clip on the nose reading glasses off the amazon and now i can use the box goggles as well 😄😄👍👍
It kinda seems like a camera drone with fpv controls. I think that's cool because slowly a beginner could change from camera drone to full manual mode. It seems to be a decent price for everything you get. I just wish we got to see how the goggles that came with it look. Geez it looks pretty nimble in manual mode. I like that it looks like the avata but I guess that sucks battery wise.
Hello, I'm a beginner and I don't know what to buy, what do you recommend from the review you did? BETAFPV Aquila16 or Sub250 Whoopfly16 or geprc tinygo 4k.
Great vid. I like how you showed the use of alternative batteries. I've been watching different reviewers and your the only one I've seen that shows that! that fact that it "seems" like you have to use proprietary batteries almost had me talked out of considering this drone. So again thanks for what you do. So many choices for beginners, so many video reviews! LOL
13:30 So is the manual mode not like true acro mode? I was looking to maybe get this quad but I don’t want it to try to correct my flying if I’m doing freestyle.
I know this video is 4 months old but which would you choose for an absolute fpv noob. This kit or the cetus pro? Only a $50 difference between the 2 and they seem similar in many ways. Is the aquila worth the extra cash or not?
This one (Aquilla16) seems to be made for the total noob with zero FPV experience and poor hand/eye coordination, so that one would be my recommendation for a beginner.
Hey Steve I went and purchased after seeing your great review, only problem is mine won’t connect to beta flight.Any ideas? Also I want to update firmware ,do you know what controller is in this baby.sorry for all the questions. Cheers mate.
It can’t connect to Betaflight because it has Betaflight software on it. Same as Cetus X FC. You have to use Betaflight software. It is a beginner drone designed for beginners who would never mess with Betaflight.
I’ve had my Aquila 16 for a while now, and like many others have noted, the video quality wasn’t great initially. My first improvement-removing the wire monopole antenna from the VTX-helped significantly. Since I still don’t enjoy wearing the goggles, I acquired a separate VRX with HDMI output. Unfortunately, on a big screen, the poor video quality became even more apparent. Determined to improve this, I disassembled the VTX again. After cleaning the coating off the VTX board, I discovered that the wire antenna was soldered to a pad meant for a coax connector. I ordered some IPEX connectors, soldered one on, and added a length of coax to a homemade helical antenna with a ground plane. After increasing the VTX output power, the video quality and range improved dramatically. Changing the antenna on the goggles to another homemade antenna further enhanced the experience. I’m sure if someone used prebuilt VTX/VRX antennae , would experience an even greater improvement in video quality. Additionally, I wasn’t satisfied with how the camera was mounted in the canopy. After damaging the canopy, I contacted BetaFPV to request the STL file for a replacement. To my surprise, they sent me the STL file yesterday. Having taken apart the Aquila 16 numerous times, I’ve come to realize that BetaFPV releases their quad kits at a low price not because they are cheaply made, but because they use high-quality components and leave it to the customer to add the finishing touches. While this is just my opinion, seeing the high-quality tech paired with questionable items like the VTX wire monopole suggests that it’s by design, aiming to provide quality kits to customers at an affordable price. Just thought I’d share my experience.
just a question, i was wondering if this thing could hold an action camera like the insta360 go3, it weighs 35 grams. And i wonder if the drone could hold it.
Hello. Which of the Betafpv Aquila 16 and GepRc TinyGo 4k would you recommend to beginners? Which one should I grow later? I like the looks of both of them and I can't decide.
These RTF kits are only designed so that you dip your toe into the FPV Drone Hobby, so get the one at the best price. In short, I’d say the AQUILA 16 is for people that fly DJI Mavics and have terrible hand/eye coordination from flying drones that do all the flying for you. The TINYGO requires a bit more skill so it is more for people with good hand/eye coordination.
At this price range for an all in one FPV kit, you won’t find the same with a better camera. Perhaps you are thinking of Digital video or a camera like on a GPS camera drone. This drone has none of that.
I really liked this little drone a lot. The video about him is very good. I would like to know if it has a power slot so I can put a Runcam Thumb Pro 4k camera on it. I thank the attention.

I don't have many drones because I have no space to store them and I'm only one person, so I can't fly them all at once. Most drones are sold to friends or given to family so that if I need them in the future for a video, I can easily have access to them.

Capt having multiple batts is no fun with the 2 batt charger. Betafpv has a 6 port 1S charger would that work with the cables for Aquila 16 batteries.??
Well, the Aquila battery says the connector is a BT 2.0, and the six port charger says BT2.0, so logic says it works. You’t just need the extension cables from battery to charger.
I wish Bugs still made the Bugs 8 pro - but just kept updating it. It's so ridiculously powered, with decent range, and at the time was decently priced. Some design problems - but I love that drone. I feel like this little thing is a great starter, but just for the price I feel like it's way underpowered.
Seriously considered buying one of these. But I need glasses as well, so I’m guessing I need to add more for a better pair of goggles🤷♂️ Starts being a bit pricey for a beginner drone.
The only thing that I don't like is the manual mode. If they make a manual mode, they should have made it fully manual. This is what prevents me from buying it.
The FPV Goggles are ANALOG so they work with any FPV Camera that sends out an ANALOG video signal. The TRANSMITTER is ELRS so it works with any drone that has an ELRS RECEIVER in it.
Awesome review nice how you spoke about the button layout. And the details about the charger. One thing that impressed me was I can use my geprc tinygo batteries as I have lots. And will be my next because of that.

@@ramlinz5953Normally, any ANALOG FPV Goggles with two screens (like most Fatshark FPV goggles) means each screen has a focus ring. All goggles with individual screens are expensive. The inexpensive goggles are the ones with inexpensive screen, like what you have. Those are called FPV Box goggles. Also, an inexpensive option is to buy restaurant menu reading glasses (they are small in size and often fit in box goggles).

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 hello , thank you for your reply , no its not so very old its about 2-3 years old and i do as you showed and nothing, its says StM32 driver error. Not fpvjoystick
@@stavrosamvrosiou1297It uses the same external driver (USB) that every external controller uses so it means the issue is your computer. Your USB ports lack any modern drivers.
I live in Canada and it took two weeks for mine to arrive once shipped. I think BETAFPV has a US warehouse for Americans. If nothing has moved then they may be low on stock.
Also the battery that come with it is a 1100mah 15c battery the 650mah 70c bettery is for using in M mode. I think thats why all the reviews are saying the m mode is not working well for them.
Hi Steve! I’m just wondering which drone you think will be better for me. This one or the Cetus x? I’ve flown DJI drones for about a year and a half so i know my way around cinematic drones as well. Also which drone do you think is overall faster and better in performance wise regardless of battery life?
Flying DJI drones gives you bad habits because the drone does all the work so your reactions actually become slower. Flying a true FPV drone would certainly result in a crash if your reactions are slow. This new version has the best of all worlds because you can start out in beginner mode and work up to manual mode.
Hmmm… the processor in a computer has no effect on your USB ports. If your computer was old or very inexpensive it will not have usb ports that are standard and drivers may be missing.
Hi captaindrone, this is a problem with the new Literadio 2 SE firmware for ELRS 3. After a few days of communication with Betafpv support, they identified it as the cause. I tried it with a mid-range notebook from HP, a high-end Lenovo business notebook, both Ryzen 7 with Windows 11 and an approximately 8-year-old Win 10 Lenovo AMD desktop. Always driver errors. Solution suggestion from Betafpv: downgrade to V2 firmware (ELRS 2) with 1.1 Betafpv configurator to connect to the PC. Additionally install a driver for virtual Com ports from ST Mikrosystems. On the download page STM write that it should only be used up to Win 8, for Win 10 and 11 the driver would not needed. To fly the Aquila, upgrade again with V3 firmware (ELRS 3) with configurator V2-RC2. I did that for a few days, it was annoying and I bought a Radiomaster Pocket, this radio works with TRYP and Liftoff and the Aquila without any problems. After I connected the Aquila to the Radiomaster I could not connect the LR2SE to the Aquila. Installing the ELRS 3 firmware multiple times doesn't help. I think Betafpv has a homemade problem. The AMD's market share of around 30%. The support repeats itself daily with the recommendation of the firmware switch, they give no statement when the software bug will be fixed. When I see the AMD's market share, one of four customers of the Aquila kit has a problem. Sorry for my bad English.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 you delete my answer? AMD Computers and the ERLS V3 Literadio 2SE can not connect, you must downgrade to ERLS 2 to use the controller with AMD computers . My Notebook is a new one with Ryzen 7, my highend Ryzen7 business notebook, the same problem, my old AMD deskstop also. That is a firmware problem made by BetaFPV, this information comes from betafpv support. They know the problem.
So , I’ve come into possession of an Aquila 16. I have a few questions that require a little more space than the comment section. With your permission, I’d like to send an email containing these questions to the address you’ve provided in the “Aboot” (😆)section of your channel description. They’re nothing weird or overly technical. My experience is in nitro powered, analog controlled, balsa models. So there are a few Drone Only issues I need help with. Thanks for your time. Oh, I looked through your video catalog but didn’t find anythin😮g on the Ranger T-1 fixed wing FPV plane. Do you have review info or video on this FPV airplane? Oddly, it looks like two Sentury Helicopters were fused together with a flattened P51 Mustang wing pushed through the fuselage. With a single boom the carries the vertical/horizontal stabilizers. It looks promising to say the least. Thanks again
Sure, you can send questions to that email address. Plenty do from all around the world so depending on the day it could take awhile to receiver a response.
Is there anything to attach a different battery to the drone? You have to add tape or velcro? Does it have a spacing that allows you to leave a velcro pad while still being able to use the proprietary batteries?
The Aquilla is designed for individuals who have never flown an FPV drone or who have flown a DJI Beginner camera drone and have terrible hand/eye coordination. So in other words, if you can’t fly an FPV flight sim without crashing, then the Aquilla is best for you. If you have a small amount of skills then you can move up to the CETUS.

The only thing that I don't like is the manual mode. If they make a manual mode, they should have made it fully manual. This is what prevents me from buying it.
Hi can I use the goggles and transmitter for other fpv drones with elrs
Yes
Hi Captain Drone, can the controller and goggles that comes with this kit can be use in other beta fpv drone like the pavo 25?
The FPV Goggles are ANALOG so they work with any FPV Camera that sends out an ANALOG video signal. The TRANSMITTER is ELRS so it works with any drone that has an ELRS RECEIVER in it.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks
No way never knew you were Canadian thats sweet, i wish there was more of an FPV community here, none around where i live lol.
It only takes one person to start flying and then eventually others will see you and join in
Comparison video with other Cetus model would be great…. Thank u for this video …. I love the increased flight time with this model
Hii
Why my controller doesn’t work on flight simulator
I use pc
Can you give me some ideas
You are either doing something wrong or you have a very old PC that is missing the USB port drivers.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 in setting bluetooth & other device
it said the BATAFPV Joystick driver error
How to fix it can you help me
It sounds almost identical to the Hubsan H 107c.
Which were basically Traxxas Generics.
Awesome review nice how you spoke about the button layout. And the details about the charger. One thing that impressed me was I can use my geprc tinygo batteries as I have lots. And will be my next because of that.
Hello, what do you think is better? "Meteor75 Pro" or "AQUILA16"? or maybe I should take both, I just want to fly on fpv and I’m wondering which one to take))))
If you are a beginner, which I think you are since you are asking this question, go with the Aquilla16
certainly a beginners kit look's good in flight and prise not bad. {yes i noticed your growth keep growing it ready for Christmas Ho Ho Ho} good review as always Captain}
I’m thinking which TX to buy,or a module for my radio master Zorro.Or XLite controller.
I have this fpv kit but i have terrible eye sight. Cant use this. I need goggles like yours with prescription. Could you please help me with name of the goggles you used to fly and their model and version? So i could lookup in ebay for me.
Mine are FATSHARK HD02 with RAPIDFIRE Video Receiver
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks for the reply. HD02 is the exact version i should get or there any least generation fat shark goggles could work the same? Because it costs £300+ minm with rapid fire.im not sure spending £500+ on a hobby that requires regular training ( full time job and three kids) If I could save £100 on diff generation goggles - better for me. Hope you understand my point
Is it as loud as Avata 2?
Yo is this better than the whoopfly 16 rtf kit because im looking for a good beginner rtf kit and im choosing between the aquila16 and the whoopfly 16 rtf kits. If there is any better kits pls also tell me. Other than that pls tell me which kit is betta
I will say the WHOOPFLY 16 is closer to the FPV hobby which means if you believe you have good hand/eye coordination then that is the one to get.
Okay
I like the aquila16 because of it's long battery life. Do you perhaps know the range of the whoopfly 16?
Hello captain, how are you ? 😊 i just got the kit and im trying to connect the controller with the pc but the pc cannot recognize it , how i can connect it normal are available some drivers ??
Thank you in advance 🙏🏻
How old is your PC? If you did as I showed in my video it should work.
I ordered one on the 4th but still have got no update if everyone has got one how longs does it take to get ship it you I am for the U S
I live in Canada and it took two weeks for mine to arrive once shipped. I think BETAFPV has a US warehouse for Americans. If nothing has moved then they may be low on stock.
Ok thx for the info
halo sir,. can aquila 16 carry Runcam thumb 4K?
It is not design to carry external cameras
Also the battery that come with it is a 1100mah 15c battery the 650mah 70c bettery is for using in M mode. I think thats why all the reviews are saying the m mode is not working well for them.
Most beginners can’t use M mode because they have to learn how to fly FPV, and for many this can take one or two months of practice.
Hey Steve did a bird run into it
I was going to ask the same thing.
Looking for your opinion on this question as well. Cetus X or this one for a first time FPV drone pilot. Thanks!
Be careful, the controller Literadio 2 SE do not work with AMD computers, no connection is possible.
They know the problem.
how reliable is this drone.. is it repairable if you have faulty motor
All FPV drones are repairable by replacing parts. Often you need to know how to use a soldering iron.
is that possible to mount small runcam with this drone?
RunCam? Runcam’s are not that small, so nope, not on this drone.
Can turn off the led on drone?
Does anyone make a micro toothpick gps drone that has altitude hold and decent range?
Is there anything to attach a different battery to the drone? You have to add tape or velcro? Does it have a spacing that allows you to leave a velcro pad while still being able to use the proprietary batteries?
Nope, because the included battery fits snugly. Perhaps a Velcro battery strap may work.
Can it carry a go2 camera?
I don't think so. You'd probably have to remove the battery and attach a lighter one.
I have been looking for something like this. How does it do in the wind? Hopefully one can purchase extra batteries? Enjoy your videos. Thanks.
It is designed for beginners and beginners don’t have the skills to fly in the wind so this would not be great for wind.
Hello, can the rc controller and its goggle be reused for another fpv drone?
Yes, but you have to teach yourself how things work together in the FPV hobby.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks.
Hello is the aquilla kit better than the cetus pro kit ?
The Aquilla is designed for individuals who have never flown an FPV drone or who have flown a DJI Beginner camera drone and have terrible hand/eye coordination. So in other words, if you can’t fly an FPV flight sim without crashing, then the Aquilla is best for you. If you have a small amount of skills then you can move up to the CETUS.
