The audience bursts into ovation at the end so it couldn't be that bad, in fact it was tremendous considering he was carrying a person on his shoulders, beeing pushed, pull, dregged on stage and it was fantastic. Well done Simon.

If you read the earlier comment by operaforever123 on this page, you would understand why Simon sounds "wobbly". In this performance the director required him to be assaulted, sat on and dragged round the stage by his ankle whilst singing this aria, I think a little wobble is forgivable in those circumstances, and the audience certainly appreciated it. Certainly a world class artist here!!

It's clearly a bad day for him... it's happen even to one of the great singer in the world! And It's a semitone lower, baroque tonality. Maybe to low for his voice. Still love you Simon!

This is wonderful! (Is he singing while carrying Cherubino? That's amazing).

Pretty sure he did not sing in this production. If you look closely, his face appears to be photoshopped into the picture. Definitely him singing, but might not be him carrying someone.

He DID sing in this production, I saw him in Salzburg and he DID carry the "angel" while singing.

    Sec,plat,brutal;la voix s'éteint au fil de l'air.Très mauvais,vocalement et techniquement.Et cet aigu final...Mon dieu!..Une leçon d'incompétence.
A côté de çà,Raimondi est un génie...
