Came here from listening to Mike Meyers on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend, and apparently Mike cried after this sketch because he thought it hadn't gone well, and I think you can see it in his face during the performance - he can't even look at Steven Tyler while they're singing together because he's worrying so much that he's ruining the show, even though the crowd was loving it. It's always both scary and reassuring to be reminded that even the stars have impostor syndrome. Also, I love this Tom Hanks character.
I'm 52 years old, when this came out in 1990, I was 21 years old. Imagine how FUN it was to watch SNL for us. No social media. No watch-on-demand. It came on at 11, and you were there along with every other kid watching this in real time. No propaganda, no "message", just fun, funny, rocking fun. I feel so blessed to have come of age when I did, and I likewise feel bad that my kids aren't getting anywhere near the same experience (especially with SNL, which is not the same show it was).

OMG, I was 9 when this sketch happened so I never appreciated it. But Up n coming Wayne's World, Aerosmith, and in the middle of the theme song set you got Tom Hanks randomly checking equipment and staying true to the roady theme and being Johnny on the spot with the towels at the end. You had to have love through that time to appreciate this skit and I know I didnt..

@@juntao213 I heard they are fine are and in contact. Dana confirmed it on a podcast which is also on RUclips. They did a super bowel commercial and Dana said that it caused them to come back together again. So yeah they have reconciled and remained in contact don’t worry 😁
