This is by far one of my favorite works of philosophy. It represents exactly what philosophical-historical analysis has the power to do when it comes to think about a better society and better contextualizing the way we make decisions. “The soul is the prison of the body” has got to be my favorite quote from the book.

it would be a great transition for your next video to discuss deleuze’s postscript on the societies of control. arguably an even more relevant interpretation of the exertion of power today

That was one of my first philosophy books as a teenager, a great intro. Well done, man. I'd love to monetarily support your work but I'm living in Milei's land and our level of derangement is inversely proportional to our amount of dollars.

Thanks for the praise! And absolutely no problem, please do take care of yourself. Argentina seems like a beautiful country and I’m hoping the best for you all.

Foucault traces the history of enforcing “man’s” ego/alienated sense-of-self; repressing a true, genuine, headless, collective subject full of eternity, energy, and spirit. The eye of power now watches us everywhere.

Love the ending here implying the hidden agency we all contain. Michel de Certeau also picks up on this idea in his work regarding everyday tactics that enable us to leverage that hidden agency.

Great video dude! Would love to see you cover Foucault’s “The Courage of Truth” lectures and the general turn of his thought in the 80s, which is hotly debated.

doesnt "the hidden agency we all contain" per foucault manifests itself in a "i would prefer not to" stance á la zizek? Does the agency that foucault shows us we have lead into a imperative that is synonymous with that of zizek? I think one could argue that convincingly.

In general, late to mid-20th century philosophy/critical theory tend to have quite a bit of overlap in it's aim. Even if they come from different camps.

Did you blur Adolf's face to prove a point or is that where we are at as a society? Lol good stuff, though. More O.O

That was primarily an artistic decision. That said, one of my videos got ad restricted specifically because of footage of Nazis.

How much oregano do you out in the tomato sauce?

    • @parliecharker4316

If you're using a 20oz can of tomatoes and dried oregano, I would use a teaspoon give or take. Fresh basil also goes great in tomato sauce (as well as dried red pepper flake); just throw a sprig in before cooking and take it out before serving. Hope this helps!

@@parliecharker4316 Yeah also it just helps to caramelize onions in oil first and then add some spice to make the oil absorb them before putting the can. I find that dried oregano is best a bit later
