I've worked as a solo tech. And I learned tremendously being solo. I remember my "nightmare scan," was with a T Spine. My site did not have a CTL coil. I had to use a neck coil and reposition Pt using a body coil for the T spine. This was where I learned the most. I learned the landmarks😊. MRI is always evolving and we must remain current in this emerging field.
i'm really interested in this or Rad Tech but i'm also very very nervous and have a bad anxiety disorder. I just want a better life for myself and a career i can be proud of. I'm working hard at attacking my anxiety but i have been through several hostile work environments with toxic people that has sort of left me callused. I feel like i'm prepared to try and take it on but i'm also tentative at my own ability to do it. I absolutely know i am smart enough, but i don't know if I'm mentally well enough or calm enough under pressure to handle it. I might just throw myself into a program and sees what happens but i have to do some contemplating before i do..
How is the job tho? Personally I hate most careers but this career struck out to me cause it seems like you can be by yourself and have freedom to take breaks once in a while . Is the career good for work/life balance ? Cause I want to still be able to do my outside business
The intricacy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the exceptional quality of the images it produces, and the cutting-edge technology employed in its operation are all noteworthy aspects.
In your daily life as an MRI tech, do you have to calculate in math to measure magnetic frequencies to take a proper image? My associates program said MRI techs have to use math?
I live in Florida and the colleges is a competition for a radiology is there any private colleges that allow for radiology like the ones that you want to?
Hey I am so interested in this career. I have been on calls with schools all week and you’ve been my initial intro to the career so I really appreciate it and your calm demeanor. After finishing my BA in Psychology and doing sales jobs I want a switch to something more meaningful I have a burning question. I have the opportunity to do an ARMIRT school in DFW where I live or move out of state to do a ARRT Cert. It seems to me the ARRT is more commonly recognized. I could really use advice on which one to choose. The ARMIT school is Tesla Insitute for MRI technology. The ARRT school is AIMS. I would love some help and feedback marking this decision. Thanks
@@I_Died_2_Weeks_Ago How so? From what I see most hiring only look for ARRT and ARMIT? The program I'm looking at is not JRCERT certified, however the program has ARRT and ARMIT upon graduation, is that enough? I've seen some people talk about CRT but information is hard to come by. I'm in California if that helps
@@mathewanaya2757 I had a coworker in California who couldn't work at a lot of hospitals because they only accepted ARRT. However, this was 8 years ago and we're even more short staffed so it may have changed.
I have no experience, but want to be admitted into a MRI program. Would you say that a person with zero knowledge/background can get accepted into this modality? Or is a previous background expected for consideration of an MRI program?
@@I_Died_2_Weeks_Ago nice, how long would it take me to become an x-ray tech from scratch? I've researched and it says 1 year of classes plus 2 years of radiology school. Is that accurate?
@@RareAirTwo4 It varies. I did 2 years at a hospital in Michigan, but now it's a 4 year bachelor's program. Over the past several years, I've seen techs do online mri programs bypassing the xray school route. Mri school, also in house at the same hospital, was a 6 month program.

You really get to test your skills and creativity working solo. That's some quick thinking using the body coil for spine.! Yes MRI is always changing!

Thanks you have been a-lot of help and motivation! Just stated labs at WCUI.. 14 months to go
Dope! Good luck ! You got it
Sir can you put vedios about basic MRI Positionings and MRI Protocols and MRI Sequence please
It's hard to do because I can't film at my new job.
That would of been so nice!
Can you do pros and cons of working with many techs in a hospital and working alone in a trailer?
Great videos as always, on my way to my clinical site! I’ll take in the advice!
Thank you! Good luck and stay focused! Work hard and learn everyday! 💪🏽 you got this

Great content!
Do you ever worry about all the radiation exposure you get while at work?
No radiation in MRI
Can you recommend some online site as to take MRI courses in other to add up the knowledge?....
Mriquiz.com is really good

Haha, no. You have to know imaging parameters, trade-offs, and how to fix imaging errors & artifacts.
Never no way

Are you aloud to wear scrub caps as an MRI tech in the field? This would be great for bad hair days😮
Yes

ARMIT will handcuff you. A lot of hospitals won't hire ARMIT techs. You can still find work, but it'll limit your options.

You usually have to become a xray tech first
Zero experience is needed!. Try to become a tech aid while going to school!
Do you think Artificial Intelligence will take over MRI Tech position??
Yes. Siemens already has AI Auto mode. Soon, they'll just pay someone $15/hr just to do the positioning.
Short answer no!
Can you become a Radiologic Technologist, and once you get the job, learn to be an MRI Tech on the job? Is that possible?
That's the traditional path. A lot of hospitals will cross-train the right motivated xray tech.
