I bought I Am Legend, American Psycho and Dune. I started and finished I Am Legend today and I simply loved it. It has been a while since I really sat down to read but this book was so captivating that I managed to finish it in one sitting. Great recommendations, thanks Felix👏
Honestly my favorite type of videos from you Pewds. I really enjoy you sharing your opinions. And just talking. It feels very natural. And you seem like you're legitimately enjoying it. Hope to see more videos like this from you. Hope it makes ya happy.
I am beyond thankful that you are delving into literature with your channel, Felix. I think RUclips needs something refreshing like this. So many high-tier channels dedicate their time to drama and noise that, having a moment of quiet to talk about books really is a wonderful change. Keep up the hard work and remember to take the breaks you deserve.
Just wanted to say, Felix, thank you for sharing what you like with us. I can't explain why exactly, but it means a lot when you do videos like this. I like the way your mind works and the way you review things. Just because you're PewDiePie doesn't mean you can't like books and share them and it's so incredible to see how much your channel has evolved, and mainly, how YOU have evolved. I'd really like to know more about your music tastes too, if you'd like to share with us. ps: memes are cool too
Chloé Thanks for saving me the trouble of writing a similar comment out. I've watched him on and off for years now but always enjoyed his more serious personality over the RUclips persona. He genuinely seems like a cool guy who i'd get along with. I love reading a good book too but i've hardly read much over the years, so seeing him do these book reviews makes me want to put more of an effort into reading.
fabiola machuca don't worry he hearted a few comments that said the same thing so he's definitely seen what we think, and on the last video there were similar nice comments :)
Really hope he keeps doing these types of videos, got back into reading but it is kinda hard to decide which book is worth sinking a lot of your own time into and I feel Felix has a similar taste in books to me and many others.
Funny seeing him ask the question if Dune will ever be adapted to another movie and will it be popular, knowing that’s exactly what happened as the two movies we got are absolutely fenomenal. Pewds really can see the future sometimes huh?
Man I love how this year you started sharing the stuff you actually like and how we can laugh in this video and learn in the next one and watch you play a vid in another. If you read this, keep going at it my man.
Hey Felix, I'm a librarian and literature student in Canada and I keep recommending Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari and I've only gotten good comments from it. It's an amazing book on the history of humankind and helps a lot to understand the origins of modern society. It's very interesting as it touches anthropology, sociology, biology, economics, political science and more.
Indeed. Great book. Much simpler words and less "scientific" than Guns, Germs and Steel which is a very common one to read if you are a lover of these kind of books.
I've got that book sitting next to my bed and am excited to read it! Unfortunately i'm crap at reading multiple books at a time so have to wait till i finish my current book which is also an interesting read, Reality Is Not What It Seems by Carlo Rovelli. He looks at explaining science (mostly Quantum Field theory but does touch on String theory) and the realities of the universe that the everyday person wouldn't really need to know but in a way you can understand with little scientific knowledge.
Haha, Felix, you are such a humble dude. I love how after struggling through Nietszche, you're like "Oh yeah maybe it would have been better to read it in Swedish." Meanwhile 19 out of 20 English speakers will never even attempt a children's book in another language (I have not yet made it through Ronja Rövardotter in Swedish...) Anyway, 9 months on... I love your book reviews.
I think the difference lies in the fact that the rest of us NEED to learn at least 1 other language apart from our mother tongue. Like how the first English book I chose on my own was American Psycho, even though I didn't understand much in the beginning I ended up progressing and enjoyed the book in the end! But great job at trying to read Ronja røverdatter (not gonna attempt writing it in Swedish), I have read children's books in Norwegian but never Swedish 😂 and that's even though our languages aren't that different 😂 (I'm a Dane)
Well we grow up with english whether we like it or not. Its everywhere, in TV shows, in the internet, in games, etc and english also has pretty easy grammar.
For books like Dune or A song of Ice and Fire, who contain a lot of characters, I recommand writing on a paper every character and who he is (in one or two lines) everytime one gets introduced. So that you don’t get lost.
@@outsideiskrrtinsideihurt699 they definitely weren’t inspired by a pewdiepie video. this book is very popular and already has been made into tv and movies lol

Thanks for inspiring me to read more Felix
I was gifted Kafka on The Shore for christmas without knowing anything about Murakami, but I loved it so much. It brought me so much joy everytime I opened it (besides the incest... that was weird). Highly recommend it!
I've only just realised how smart and honest a person Felix is. I used to just see him as this figure/celebrity that would just react mindlessly to games or videos, but videos like these prove that he is an actual insightful person.
I agree. It makes my chest feel fluttery to think about it. I know it sounds silly but to see him grow and develop, and grow with him, it's actually very special. I'm proud of him!!
I think that if he is going to be talking about the books and how much he enjoyed reading them it would be respectful to the authors to include the books in the description.
this video was so cozy and it looked like you were having fun talking about things you like, just like in the anime and manga video. I really like these videos and i honestly really appreciate you having fun ;D

I really like these videos so please keep doing them Pewds. You suggested Children of Time last month and I absolutely loved it. Will be reading American Psycho and Dune this month if I have the time. You made me really miss reading and it's nice to get suggestions from someone who really seems to enjoy what they read.
I didn't watch last months, I just suggested he read Children of Time. If you enjoy sci-fi, I would also suggest the Expanse saga, Fear the Skies saga For fantasy, try Spellmonger and The Kingkiller Chronicles
Dune will be adapted to cinema in 2020, by the director of sicario,Arrival and blade runner 2049 and starring thimothee chalamet as Paul. Will be epic,But i,am afraid that will be failure in box office , like Blade Runner, because the dumb audience who prefer Fast and furious, transformers and twilight don´t like hard science fiction and sci fi books, only books that the audience read in massive scale is 50 shades of shit ,trahslight and fucker games. This things to teenagers.
I am waiting to your dune book video.Because i am counting to the days of release of the movie in 2020.Wait what is my favorite novel of all time and I will be very upset if the movie fails with the people in box office.
I need to see more of this from Felix because you can tell he's more comfortable here and genuinely likes sharing his interests and stuff he likes. Because of him, I have watched new animes and now read some books and mangas. I love hearing him talk about stuff that interests him because you discover something you never heard of, for me at least. More of causal Felix please, I wanna know another anime or movie or pretty much anything to add to my list to check it out. 😊
This literature club thing is so amazing! I don't think there would have been any other year better than 2018 to start this. I feel like Felix is changing his content to be more suitable for his audience. I mean many of us may have started watching his videos as teens and back then enjoyed more gaming accompanied by mindless screaming. Now that we're older, we still do enjoy them, but we also want some serious and mature content. The literature club and Felix sharing his opinions about current topics fulfills our needs perfectly. Well done, Pewds!👊
Let me get this straight: You wanted to read a light, funny book, so you chose American Psycho... which is about a deranged, psychopathic killer... violently murdering people... Okay. That’s fine.
I just wanted to say thanks Felix. These book reviews have been some of my favourite videos in the last months. I never read a book outside of school, but the last episode got me interested. I ordered life 3.0 and just got it recently. I haven't finished it yet, but I have really enjoyed it so far, and it got me thinking about it all the time. Thank you for showing me this book life, so many people have tried and failed :). Looking forward to the next one. It was about time you got some original content.
Books are never going to die they alredy set themselfe to cyberspace in form of ebook readers .there will be no Humanity whithout knowledge packed in intresting storys so Books are the best things for learning something and schools have to learn what a good book is and dont stick to those goddam boring school books (sorry for grammar and english im german )
I'll be honest, Felix has surprised me greatly. We have always thought that youtubers are stupid for the jokes they do (although there really are many idiots) but this part of Felix talking about literature, science, philosophy, books, wow. I love the fact that someday I could have a drink with Felix and have an intelligent and interesting talk. I mean, this guy is a real interesting and smart human.
Jorge Iriarte you can tell he isn't stupid if you watch him for more than 10 mins, people just forget English is his second language and think he's a fool
Jorge Iriarte Yeah, I think we forget sometimes that what we see of youtubers is just a tiny sliver of their personalities and person as a whole. We can only see what they put out there for us to see. In some cases what they show isn't even something they want to share, but what they think people want/would like to see. Behind all of that there's probably a lot of intellectual people with curiousities and philosophical ideas and... etc. etc. just like you and me. 😄
its so crazy how watching this in 2024 after denis' rendition of dune has released, what felix said about dune maybe making a comeback he was 100% correct
i actually really like that the biggest youtuber is doing book reviews now! i thought books are just not viral material! that means there is still hope for my channel 😁
well they're still not viral material. probably never will be. He is in a position that allows him to do whatever the heck he wants and people will still watch. But hey good luck, this could become a viral thing, you never know.
Felix, you could open a book club on Goodreads or anywhere you want. I would love that, and many other people would be here for it too! I had misconceptions about The Picture of Dorian Gray but after seeing you talk about it last time, I decided to read it and I really enjoyed it. I don't have recommendations like other people do but I think it's great that I can come here and add new books on my list (on the PewDiePie channel, who would have thought!) Thank you :)
These suggestions are always awesome. I would recommend the Lorien Legacies by the way. It's the series that includes "I am Number Four" and it has such a great plot that I can't stop thinking about it even years after I finished them.
This classy music with him making book reviews makes me want to see him with spectacles smoking a pipe on a leather couch with a cat looking the part idk 😂
I love watching your book reviews because I feel like we finally get the chance to know you better. Sorry if I sound weird but I just love how your whole face lightens up when you talk about things that excited you. Ur awesome bruh thanks
yeah i feel the same too! it's exactly like when he talked about his favorite manga and anime as well! you *know* he's really enjoying what he's talking about =)
Arianna E95 dude, Felix isn't a real outstanding person. he's literally just a Swede with a RUclips channel that wishes he was Japanese with a RUclips channel. you're pathetic
I finished Kafka on the Shore in November. It was a very good read. I especially liked the middle of the book where it sort of had slice of life vibes and things were going smoothly, but still gave the feeling that something big was going to happen soon. 5/5
This is exactly the reason I subscribed to you, Felix. You're funny, but can be entertaining even without cracking jokes and some rather red-pilling puns. You are a great RUclipsr. All the best to you, Marzia and the pugs. I enjoyed Dune thoroughly, because I just love rich universe with very intricate details. Mainly the reason for reading Silmarillion right now in English (translated version in my mother tongue did it no effing justice). Will try American Psycho. Could be fun, despite it's very odd main "protagonist".
I haven't read American Psycho but it came up in a book about the history of literature I was reading. If it's such a landmark it must be pretty good :)
Joe Fortson you always have to take those recommendations with a grain of salt. What most consider revolutionary or creme de la creme of literature, others may find dull and strange. But yeah, will see how it is once I get through it!
American Psycho is an interesting piece in book form. Entire chapters are dedicated to discussing brands of bottled water and then almost goes straight to meticulously described sexual torture scenes. It's boring, revolting and fascinating
Dude, please keep doing these videos. I can not read as much as you, but getting your awesome recomendations got me into it and now i'm totally willing to keep reading with you. Thank you, friend.
Kevin Weltje Pretty sure what he means by "I can not read as much as you" is that he can't read all of those books within the timespan that Pewds can. However, he is willing to read the books at his own pace I may be wrong but I've got a good feeling that's what he meant.
Death x Dealing you misunderstand his unedited comment says please don't continue doing these videos but I love your book recommendations so it was wierd.
It’s crazy to think I used to watch your play throughs when I was like ten (16 now) and I sorta strayed away from RUclips but now that I’m older I’ve found a love for philosophy you have no idea how cool it is to see someone like you read bg&e it makes me wanna pursue a career is psychology thank you I’ll be watching your other vids as well
It’s kinda unexpected but... Pewds is actually good at “reviewing” books in few words and making them interesting. With some good intuitions too. Good Job Pewds. Loving how your channel is turning out in the last period. Brofist from Italy.
"I must not fear.Fear is the mind-killer.Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.I will face my fear.I will permit it to pass over me and through me.And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
I love it when he changes between personable Felix and crazy, funny Pewds. It really creates such diversity on his channel even though it doesn't seem that way (is it episode 1000 of lwaiy and ylyl yet 😂) It's honestly why I will never stop watching.
I love the way he made American Psycho sound like a sitcom. I also think part of the magic of the book is convincing the reader that they are psychopathic too.
I am reading Dune right now, trying to finish it before the movie comes out next month... So many new words, I have to keep googling every other paragraph haha
I love this content. I used to love reading books but i stopped for some odd reason, but watching and listening to you describe how fantastic these books are made me want to start reading again. Thank you, Felix.
Dune is going to adapted by Denis Villeneuve (Director of Blade Runner 2049, Prisoners, Arrival, Enemy, Sicario, Incendies) Denis has said that it was his dream to adapt this on big screen one day and it's his passion project. So hopefully we will get another great film from him Next Year. 😃
For longer books with so many Characters. I usually keep a notebook next to me and jolt down the characters names and a little description next to the names. it really helps.
HalfAssedHero try practising memory jotting, it really helps u focus on remembering certain plot points and subtext on characters, locations and events that occurs throughout. If you find it difficult to do with a 1000+page book, try doing it on short novels first, you'd be amazed on your ability to do so, and you would no longer need to write!
ok i might try it with the harry potter books. i been meaning to read them for the sole fact that people have been telling me that they have more detail than the film and i like the movies A lot, but never gotten around to doing so.
HalfAssedHero Not sure if you read 'A Song of Ice and Fire' but if you haven't I recommend it. So much characters it really challenges you mentally to remember them all throughout the books. It really improves your memory. It's a series with 5 books and I think the 6th book may come out sometime this year or next.
See pewd's personal opinion surprisingly showed me a lot about his personality and how Felix Kejelberg is an incredible human being, and almost as if I was exchanging views with my best friend when he said the next books we were going to read. No wonder the guy is the biggest RUclipsr in the world, where else can you find a channel and a human being so complete on the Internet? For some reason I feel intimate with him and the whole bro army, I feel like we're all together in a room in our book club as we quietly discuss the next title we're going to read, THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME
If you're getting into Philosophy, start with Plato's Republic, get a good grasp on the idea of the Forms. Then address Beyond Good & Evil, followed up with Kierkegaard 👌 Makes me proud to see you popularize the idea of reading Philosophy, it's so important. EDIT: BTW, I know it always looks like sketchy self-promotion when a shitty small RUclipsr (Literally) comments, but I'm for real just happy to see you reading Philosophy. Much love from Ireland.
Hey pewds. Love your vids. Love to see you expand the range of your content. Recently watched like a graph of RUclipsr growth reminded me of how much your grown. I remember you when you had 800k . I know you probably won't read this but I don't care.thank you for entertaining me for like 4-5 years :)

Evan Blake his name is pewdiepie
Will Plays Nani.
Will Plays we have PewDiePie, and then we have Felix.
His NAME is Felix, silly :P
You should do book review once in while. I really miss these videos
I love how we get a closer look at him and what he likes.
In his natural habitat.
Matt St lkr? I love it as well. ♡♡
Lucky Chips yes I love that too
Matt St It's really nnice
Just wanted to say, Felix, thank you for sharing what you like with us. I can't explain why exactly, but it means a lot when you do videos like this. I like the way your mind works and the way you review things. Just because you're PewDiePie doesn't mean you can't like books and share them and it's so incredible to see how much your channel has evolved, and mainly, how YOU have evolved.
I'd really like to know more about your music tastes too, if you'd like to share with us.
ps: memes are cool too
yess music
Chloé Thanks for saving me the trouble of writing a similar comment out. I've watched him on and off for years now but always enjoyed his more serious personality over the RUclips persona. He genuinely seems like a cool guy who i'd get along with. I love reading a good book too but i've hardly read much over the years, so seeing him do these book reviews makes me want to put more of an effort into reading.
I really hope he sees this. It's important because I kinda get the feeling that he believes he's boring when he talks about himself, and he is so not.
fabiola machuca don't worry he hearted a few comments that said the same thing so he's definitely seen what we think, and on the last video there were similar nice comments :)
lol he did share his musical interests with us *sings* "hey hey monica, hey pore monica..." XD
Was about to say the same thing
Man I love how this year you started sharing the stuff you actually like and how we can laugh in this video and learn in the next one and watch you play a vid in another.
If you read this, keep going at it my man.
Hey Felix,
I'm a librarian and literature student in Canada and I keep recommending Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari and I've only gotten good comments from it.
Shawn Grenier read the second book-the history of tomorrow it's even better
I've got that book sitting next to my bed and am excited to read it! Unfortunately i'm crap at reading multiple books at a time so have to wait till i finish my current book which is also an interesting read, Reality Is Not What It Seems by Carlo Rovelli. He looks at explaining science (mostly Quantum Field theory but does touch on String theory) and the realities of the universe that the everyday person wouldn't really need to know but in a way you can understand with little scientific knowledge.
Also go for God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens, an excellent book
@@asjvaidya612🤡
I like hearing you talk about your hobbies and the things you're passionate about, maybe you could talk about the kind of music you're into as well?
Lotte B music review
Lotte B yes! That would be great
Yes yes yes
Yes koyas koyas
Lotte B he probably just listens to the Devilman OST
Haha, Felix, you are such a humble dude. I love how after struggling through Nietszche, you're like "Oh yeah maybe it would have been better to read it in Swedish."
Meanwhile 19 out of 20 English speakers will never even attempt a children's book in another language (I have not yet made it through Ronja Rövardotter in Swedish...)
Anyway, 9 months on...
I'm glad a popular youtuber with many fans encourages the world to read.
Now that more people are opening their eyes I can rest assured :)
For books like Dune or A song of Ice and Fire, who contain a lot of characters, I recommand writing on a paper every character and who he is (in one or two lines) everytime one gets introduced. So that you don’t get lost.
Jesus he liked this in under a minute!
It's Knowledge cool 😎
Happened to me with Silmarillion as well. Great book, hard to keep track on the names...

Felix predicted the Dune movie lol
Do you think he predicted it or inspired it? I think it would be really interesting if the people behind the remake were inspired to do so by Pewds
@@outsideiskrrtinsideihurt699 they definitely weren’t inspired by a pewdiepie video. this book is very popular and already has been made into tv and movies lol
@@outsideiskrrtinsideihurt699 the studio ? maybe. who knows ? but Denis Villeneuve, the director ( who is a genious ) I can say for sure that he was inspired as a kid to do this movie.
I hope Felix will review it !

Who is Felix
Well he is an intellectual. I've heard he watches two Rick and Morty episodes a week! But, you didn't hear that from me...
Did you not realize he's a person
He's a normal person
for future reference, you should include links for each book in the description. Under the links for you chair of course.
Or author and the name would be cool
Let’s get the likes to 399
oh yes
I think that if he is going to be talking about the books and how much he enjoyed reading them it would be respectful to the authors to include the books in the description.
it’s extremely hard to look it up, isnt it? not like he gave a book name or anything

I really like these videos so please keep doing them Pewds. You suggested Children of Time last month and I absolutely loved it. Will be reading American Psycho and Dune this month if I have the time. You made me really miss reading and it's nice to get suggestions from someone who really seems to enjoy what they read.
Rachyl McLeod sen salqksın
Also after reading American Psycho watch the movie it’s pretty good
I didn't watch last months, I just suggested he read Children of Time.
If you enjoy sci-fi, I would also suggest the Expanse saga, Fear the Skies saga
For fantasy, try Spellmonger and The Kingkiller Chronicles
Rachyl McLeod i just love he did this... i will definitely read one of those!!! Love it
Okay will do. I wonder the movie American Psycho is streaming somewhere. I'll have to check.
yo i JUST finished Dune and it was the best shit EVER ♥
thanks for the recommendation (sry i am slow)
Dune will be adapted to cinema in 2020, by the director of sicario,Arrival and blade runner 2049 and starring thimothee chalamet as Paul. Will be epic,But i,am afraid that will be failure in box office , like Blade Runner, because the dumb audience who prefer Fast and furious, transformers and twilight don´t like hard science fiction and sci fi books, only books that the audience read in massive scale is 50 shades of shit ,trahslight and fucker games. This things to teenagers.
if denis stays as director, and timmy stays as paul, i foresee one of greatest sci-fi films of all time!!
fingers crossed bb ♥
i think i needa do a vid and talk about the movie i'm too excited
You can make a video by spreading the book,to increase the popularity and help in the box office of the future film.
Man, things like this are why I love you. What you actually want to say is what we want to hear! 100% support, keep up the good work
I love your comment.
Miina Pitkänen, pewds and his audience are growing up.
Robert Smith Yes, exactly!😀
I’m 13...
S.O.S Grinch goo, not everything is going to apply to everyone. it was more of an observation for those of us who have been watching for years.
Robert I mean I have been watching since 2014( I was 9 or 10)
Let me get this straight:
You wanted to read a light, funny book, so you chose American Psycho... which is about a deranged, psychopathic killer... violently murdering people...
Okay. That’s fine.
But did he murder anyone?
and neitzsche's beyond good and evil 😂
Shows that he didn't actually read it. His description of it matches the film, but not the novel.
It's definitely funny, but it's 100% not light. Holy shit it's also dark.
Jake Pope books are inherently subjective to the reader, if that was his interpretation of the book, so be it. Sorry for reviving this thread
Jorge Iriarte
you can tell he isn't stupid if you watch him for more than 10 mins, people just forget English is his second language and think he's a fool
I agree.
Sorry if I don't make any sense, it's 3.00 am and English isn't my first language, I'm Swedish like pewds 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Real people aren't just one noted(unless they deliberately try to be). People are complex and have many different sides that make them who they are.
Pewds I swear I love hearing you expressing your thoughts and feelings on things.. Pls keep doing these videos
its so crazy how watching this in 2024 after denis' rendition of dune has released, what felix said about dune maybe making a comeback he was 100% correct
i actually really like that the biggest youtuber is doing book reviews now! i thought books are just not viral material! that means there is still hope for my channel 😁
well they're still not viral material. probably never will be. He is in a position that allows him to do whatever the heck he wants and people will still watch. But hey good luck, this could become a viral thing, you never know.
Oh God, I read books since i exist.
However, i'm glad that so popular person is spreading this basic skill (i mean reading).
He's using his position to promote good things. He's an upstanding fellow. Get the kids reading and dranking wheskey and respecting the women folk.
Good ol Goodreads

These suggestions are always awesome. I would recommend the Lorien Legacies by the way. It's the series that includes "I am Number Four" and it has such a great plot that I can't stop thinking about it even years after I finished them.

I love book time, Pewds. Really, I love it whenever you talk about stuff you like in a serious fashion.

Kevin Weltje it doesn't
Kevin Weltje Pretty sure what he means by "I can not read as much as you" is that he can't read all of those books within the timespan that Pewds can. However, he is willing to read the books at his own pace
I may be wrong but I've got a good feeling that's what he meant.
I think he just has a lot more time than other youtubers because he has editors

Dune is going to adapted by Denis Villeneuve (Director of Blade Runner 2049, Prisoners, Arrival, Enemy, Sicario, Incendies)
Denis has said that it was his dream to adapt this on big screen one day and it's his passion project.
HalfAssedHero true, taking down notes really helps. In my case, i use post it notes and sticky tabs to help me remember.
HalfAssedHero
Not sure if you read 'A Song of Ice and Fire' but if you haven't I recommend it.
So much characters it really challenges you mentally to remember them all throughout the books. It really improves your memory.
