Makes perfect sense to build the shop so all your projects don't have to be in the middle of your living room & kitchen!!! You can make the mess in the shop building cabinets and then bring them in and install in a clean environment instead of all the sawdust and building materials in the middle of where you live. Do what works best for you and don't worry about what somebody else thinks is the right procedure. Take good advice when you want it and let the rest go. Happy shop building!

As a man, there is something about having a large enough, enclosed, dedicated space to work is just a must. You can do without it, but I think it ups production and vision to get the jobs done. This is an excellent reason to hold off other jobs until completed.

Have been following you for some time now and as a 78 yr old retiree I am so impressed by your dedication and commitment to what you two are building for yourselves. It is so satisfying to see a young couple with such powerful work ethics. You might be interested in looking at Ambition strikes RUclips channel. They did the same thing with two containers, put a roof across etc. might give you some ideas, in any event keep up the good work, you both have a bright future. Love from Western Canada 🇨🇦

I know first hand how hot it can get inside. Last fall I installed a shelving system. It was only seventy something outside and while on a ladder tightening up stuff close to the ceiling I lend against the south side wall, with my forearm, and burned myself. That is when I ran inside and grabbed my laser heat gun just to see how hot it really was. I was blown away to say the least, when I found out the inside temp on that wall was 115F where I burned myself. Later that same day, still not too hot low to mid eighties, I checked that wall and the ceiling then and it was now 126F.. I hope all goes as planned for your garage build. All the Best, Tony

Henry's elastomeric paint works wonders! Roof temp went from 144°F to 118°F after only one coat! The container used to feel like an oven and now it's only slightly warmer than outside temps after sitting closed up all day

Agreed. For example: when you started you were 100% going to use the metal cabinets but as time has progressed you changed to some of them to really wanting to completely build your own. I often will have one vision when I start something and as I get into it, I will revise. Never feel bad because you can only do so much and then “the universe” throws its two cents in.
