    It is charming how, even having argued with Godard, as he was a very complicated person, she still remembers him fondly and chooses Bande Aparte as one of his favorite films.

    This genuinely made me tear up. Agnes has been a massive inspiration for me since I saw The Gleaners and I in film school. I adore all the works by Godard, Truffaut, Resnais but to me it feels like Varda makes her movies with far more heart and compassion for the human will. RIP Agnes

    I'm fifteen and starting my film journey!! I don't know much about Agnès Varda, only her two films cleo from 5 to 7 and vagabond, but this video already shows me how much of sweetheart she is! can't wait to watch her entire filmography

      She was a true feminist. Her shortfilm Women Reply gets it all right. And didn't know her partner was the director Jacques Demy and I am loving his films too know. They both seem good people. I recommend Lady Oscar from Demy, it's criminally unknown and the public is getting it all wrong...

      From the moment I read about vagabond I could barely make it through the week but had an appointment with the most valuable behind the scenes figure in modern poetry To go over a book of poems I had hoped I had finished… He wondered why I was so drawn to Vagabond- Before I give it a thought to Sandrine Bonaire. My favorite of her films were the one directed by Jaques Rivette where she play the scientist who is forced to take on the role of the detectiveAnd I am Mesmerized by the Scene where she moves back-and-forth between Munro and another changing trains… Between your lab and what are dinner fathers house b

    brilliant segment, she knows how she wants to do this, is direct, but warm, precise, picks nice range of movies, throws an interesting curveball (Lena Dunham) and signs off with the perfectly verbalized thought we've all had - put us in this room and give us a screen. She's 89 years-old. Damn.

    My acting teacher starred in AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE, I'm over the moon at this pleasant surprise that she would choose that particular film. I loved it as well.

    She is a great director and by no means inferior to other Nouvelle Vague auteurs. It makes me feel bad that I haven't watched many of her films as she is also a really inspiring filmmaker.

    Agnes is so charming, wise and adorable. I can listen to her talk about films (exploring their themes, concepts and visual ideas) forever. She exudes this deep passion and love for cinema and life in general which is incredibly refreshing to see.
    I would pick her any day over Godard. Her Vagabond, Gleaners and I & more recently Beaches of Agnes are some of my favorites. It's so amazing she picked "Sweetie" which also happens to be one of my all time favorites...yay!
    Agnes, if you are reading the comments section (why do i get this feeling that you have much better and more interesting things to do than this but if by some random chance that you are) and if you haven't yet seen them, please watch, Jellyfish (Meduzot) from Israel and Wadjda from Saudi Arabia - two very good films - which i think you will enjoy, judging by your taste and choice in movies.

    I just found this right now! Amazing Anes Varda... I love her so much!! And!! She picked An Angel At My Table!! That's woooooow!! This film changed my life so I'm living in New Zealand now.     Her "Le bonheur" is still a very thought-provoking film, as it asks, can a man love two women at the same time? Also, watch Truffaut's "Jules and Jim," which asks the opposite question: can a woman love multiple men at the same time? Europeans are still much more advanced when it comes to dealing with these issues in a mature and artistic fashion.
