You can tell Lalo really trusted Nacho because he was the first to take a sip of the drink
comments like these make television better, great catch
Probably because Kim berated him about not trusting anyone in his own house.
he even offered him a drink that’s worth $4500
This really surprised me. The whole time I figured Lalo was keeping him close bc he knew Varga would eventually make a move against him. When Varga took off running I fully expected Lalo to be waiting for him.
Yup all of this would’ve been so much easier if Nacho knew about ricin. Maybe things wouldn’t have gone down how they did in S6.
"I get my best ideas when everybody else is asleep" is a terrifying sentence coming from Lalo
What meaning did you get from it? I am taking it literally and don’t understand the terrifying part
@@nukacolacompany2534 I think it's because that's when nobody is able to stop him or interfere
@@nadirbaitsaleem7270 Yeah interesting
Yeah that line always stuck with me
Yin
The fact that Lalo noticed a fire coming from the exact spot Nacho just came from but still didn't immediately blame him for it goes to show how much trust he had in him at this point
Actually true, unlike the drink stuff in other comments since it was his bottle
I mean, it was his bottle, yes, but Nacho could have easily poisoned it while he was in the kitchen, so that other detail is valuable as well, as far as Lalo's trust in Nacho is concerned.
Lalo did watch Nacho risk his own neck retrieving Crazy 8’s stash in real time while the DEA raided his place. He earned his trust time and time again. I wished Gus saw his loyalty.
Schrodinger's Nacho. He's alive, but so, so dead at the same time.
Lmao best comment ever
Very well said
Yea untill we see next season he is both alive and dead at the same time.
I think nacho makes it in the end. cause when walt and jesse kidnapped saul that one time he said that it was ignacio when he thought that lalo sent them, suggesting that lalo still hadn't got to him, but we'll see in s6. so excited
It both has olives and no olives until you open the box.
*If only Gus hired Badger and Skinny Pete,*
*the two best hitmen West of the Mississippi.*
Those idiots would argue who is more bad$$$ Mike or Lalo? I think Badger would say Mike and Skinny Pete would say Lalo.
Don’t forget Skinny Pete can throw hands........on those piano keys.
Skinny Pete alone can solo all the cartels, he's the one who trained Mike
@@stephenwest2 What ??
No.
What's really sad is after having Tuco and Hector as a boss, Lalo would actaully be someone Nacho could work with. Intimidating and unpredictable to his enemies but level headed and showed Nacho respect once he proved himself allowing him to make his own calls with his dealers. Unfortunately Gus is blackmailing him and now turned him against him
Well said
If only Nacho sided with Lalo instead and revealed Gus’s plans to him.
That's what I was thinking. There are no proofs at all that Nacho put Hector on the wheel chair or swapped his pills. In a logical way, if Gus had told this information to Lalo or Eladio, both would have thought that he was just pretending to start an internal fight between Salamancas.
The point is, Nacho isn't a soulless, sadistic psychopath like all the Salamancas. He didn't wanted any of them to be his "friend", especially not Lalo, the most dangerous of them.
@@CombatSportsRed True but Nacho still has a sin against Lalo and that is turning Hector into a cripple and Gus knew that. This was the one thing that Gus had against Nacho, so even if he tried to expose Gus to Lalo, Gus will still end up having an ace up in his sleeve. And if he did tell the Salamancas and Don Eladio of what happened to Hector, Nacho will not only die, but the rest of his family will be at peril since Gus also blackmailed Nacho about killing them.
You could clearly see the tension in Nacho's eyes and the sweating and the look in his eyes so anxious and terrified.
Amazing Michael Mando !
He is such a good actor
This universe has some of the best actors. You forget that it's all fake most of the time!
I loved him in Far Cry 3 before learning not only he was great as Vaas and this role but he played Vaas in THREE languages and then I was told the guy was born in the same damn hospital I was and is from Quebec...
At that point the guy sat in my top tier actors list, but let's not lie, he already deserved the spot.
The sad thing is that Lalo and Nacho would’ve been great friends outside the cartel. You could see how much respect Lalo has for Nacho.
Not so as Lalo is a psychotic without a conscience...Nacho still has one.
@@johnnypastrana6727 you mean sociopathic
I mean, he did turn his uncle Hector into a vegetable, not the greatest way to start a friendship.
I really doubt that. Lalo is a psychopath who thrives in this business while Nacho wants really badly to get out of it. Completely different personalities.
It was calculated. Nacho made Lalo trust him with that stunt he pulled by jumping on the roof and getting out etc. Nacho played him with greater intelligence
I feel bad for Lalo, dude legit just wanted to chill, drink n chat about stuff with Nacho. Ended up getting stabbed in the back real hard.
I wanna drink wit Lalo. He a real homie.
Thats the sad part. We all thought maybe lalo was on to Nacho, but actually, Lalo had no idea he was being betrayed. He even tried to move Nacho up in the cartel
Nacho betrayed Lalo, but I still root for Nacho.
@Jo Lisa Dukarić He didnt warn lalo either
That's how great Tony Dalton is, and the show in general. Like with Walt, we can sympathize with a cold-blooded murderer.

100%. It's unbelievable he wasn't given a chance at Hollywood before.
Nothing scarier in the show so far than angry Lalo.
Gus Fring pissed the Méxican-Batman off
Isn't he attractive or charismatic?
Simon Dowsett That’s what I like about BB/BCS. They give other actors a chance. Those who haven’t necessarily had their ‘big break’.
God damn, I feel bad for Ignacio. You can tell he _really_ didn't want to do this.
If it weren’t for Gus, Nacho would’ve loved working with Lalo. He’s not impulsive like Tuco, and after gaining his trust time and time again, Lalo wouldn’t have laid a finger on his father like Hector tried to.
The way he says 'I'd rather get some shut eye' in that defeatist tone is so brillaint. He knows Lalo won't just change his mind and go to bed, but Nacho's beyond desparation, and part of him still wants to avoid violence, which is kinda Nacho's biggest trait, the peacekeeper. From season 1 in the desert with Tuco and dealing with Mike and that nerdy dude, he was never the violent character. And I'm sure part of him is guilty that he's one of the few guys Lalo truly trusted to let him into his home, only to betray him.
Nacho peacefully dealt with all of the Salamancas, and you would never have known it but for Hector.
Walt and Gus, not so much.
peaceful isn’t the right word - more like non-confrontational. nacho doesn’t believe in violence but by no means was he peaceful.
- he wanted mike to assassinate tuco but mike wasn’t okay with killing at the time
- he gave hector a stroke and would’ve killed him if gus hadn’t intervened
he’s saying “i’d rather get some shut eye” because he’s tired of being paranoid that something might happen to him/his father and he just wants all of this to be over. which ends up happening next season anyway, so pretty good foreshadowing by the writers.
He is a peacekeeper, but he is also kinda sly. He ripped off Pryce, he wanted to rip off the Kettlemans, he did business under Tuco's nose... he's the equivalent of Jesse in BB. Someone we get to love towards the end but whose origins were questoinable.
That’s why this show is so good. The characters aren’t flat. Even the bad guys have emotions we relate to. In this scene, Lalo is being a good host.
He betrayed a psychopathic monster who killed innocent people without a second thought. It's like betraying Charles Manson.
For a while, I wondered how no one in the Salamancas caught on to Nacho, despite the fact he was wearing his heart on his sleeve, but then it occured to me: he’s been perpetually stressed out for the last few years, so it’s really the only side anyone has ever seen of him. In a way, Nacho had the ultimate poker face. I’m guessing Lalo saw him as an ambitious, but tightly wound guy who just needed to relax a little and learn to have some fun. That’s probably why Lalo took to Nacho the way he did, cause he viewed him as a little brother of sorts who he could mentor.
I can imagine Lalo saying " nacho is like family", similar to what Walter said about jesse
You guys are reading way too far into the psychopath that is lalo Salamanca. He views everything and everyone as either a tool or entertainment. For confirmation rewatch the scene, where Nacho goes to escape with the drugs during the police raid or when Nacho is afraid to meet the cartel boss. Lalo didn't have a second of concern for him, just eating popcorn as he sees the whole thing as one big amusement for himself
@@dersuddeutschesumpf5444 I’m pretty sure that Nacho earned more of Lalo’s trust and respect there.
@@dersuddeutschesumpf5444 What you say is only partially true. Psychopath like Lalo really usually does not care for others, but when you put in perspective that he invited him to his house and shown actual trust it is clear that this was something more.
@@dersuddeutschesumpf5444 Actually, when Nacho was talking to Eladio alone, you can see how...well, if not nervous, at least concerned Lalo was: observing the conversation from a distance with a serious face, knowing that Eladio's opinion of Nacho was also gonna influence Eladio's opinion on the Salamancas. Lalo decided to personally introduce someone who was not in his family for the first time...but that I'm sure Lalo was ready to let in in case things turned out to be positive, and they did: "you'll be halfway to being a Salmanca".
Lalo is a psychopath, yes, but that doesn't mean that he never takes anything seriously, despite his attitude.

@j mula vince is not even envolved with the show
From the genius mind of Vince Gilligan, comes the next spinoff in the Breaking Bad universe - Better let the cicadas call. Premiers Sunday on AMC.
A cold beer and an open flame - perfect circumstances for a compelling conversation. Put all of the psychopathy and murderous nature aside, Lalo is highly intelligent and appears as if he’d be great to have a beer with and talk to. Lalo is by far one of my favorite characters in the Breaking Bad universe along with Mike.
Whilst Gus is cold, calculative and usually has other guys do his bidding for him, Lalo is charming, cunning and hands-on type of guy. Both great villains, but I think for me personally, Tony Dalton takes the cake. Lalo has turned into an unexpected favorite for me this season.
Show me 😃
Gus gets his hands dirty often too lol
He certainly stands out among the other super geniuses of the series. He has all of Gus’s resources and experience and his deductive and adaptive powers are on par with Walt but, other than that, he’s the complete inversion of everything we’re used to seeing: Lalo is not an academic, he’s street smart. Lalo does not regret his actions, he thoroughly enjoys who he is and what he does. Most importantly, both Gus and Walt had deeply personal reasons for doing what they did; Lalo has nothing at stake in all this. Kim even called him out on it. He makes one attempt to find a personal stake in Nacho but as soon as that falls apart, his demeanor barely changes at all. Super entertaining.
Gus isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty if he needs to
So Lalo Salamanca is Blackbeard Marshall D Teach? Almost Never Sleeps, Insomnia. And Gus Fring is Imu-Sama driven by Hatred/Revenge.
It’s crazy that Lalo does everything on two hours of sleep tops
Yup, there isn't a single person in the world that can have their brain work on full capacity with only 2 hours of sleep. Every person in the world needs 7-8 hours of sleep to work on full capacity
@@lonelylama5222 He probably sleeps for 1 to 2-hour periods several times throughout the day.
@@lonelylama5222 i heard some scienticst say that a very small percentage of people can
That's HOW he gets so much done. He's a polyphasic sleeper. It is said that if you stay awake long enough, you get so tired that you slip straight into REM sleep, which is all your body really needs. You can repeatedly deprive yourself of sleep this way in order to eventually train your body to go straight into REM sleep every time. At that point, you can work your way up to different schedules where you only sleep 2-4 hours per day. Lalo might get by on e.g. 4 thirty minute naps per day. It is said to be an arcane secret known equally well by the odd renaissance polymath and the rare common soldier.
@lonelylama5222 I think he's probably being a little bit hyperbolic. I don't doubt he sleeps little but I bet you he's still gets like 4 or 5 hours.
Am I the only one who felt bad for Lalo here? He just wanted to hang by the fire and have a couple of cold ones with his bro. He had no ill intent bringing the latter to Mexico.
I felt so bad when lalo saw nacho's drink...

@@arthurtfm Yeah I think Lalo knew it was Gus. He said to the injured hitman he knew who sent them. I like that Lalo trusts Nacho so much that despite the fact that he just came from the kitchen, he doesn’t suspect Nacho’s the one who started the fire.

@@serblackadder6053 I think they did that to show the viewers that Kim is now breaking bad, which we will see more of in final season
I got goosebumps when Nacho opened the door and the mercenaries stood there.
Well i assume that was the plot twist when Lalo asked that guy to tell everyone that they killed him. Cause acording to BB storyline Lalo is dead with all the Salamancas.
There is no way Lalo just got up and disappeared in the wind. He is coming back and now he is coming for blood. He is going to die in season 6 without Saul's knowledge probably.
That's what I was thinking too. The fact that Gus mentions all the salamancas are dead besides Hector (before Gus getting himself bombed ). But when Jesse and Walt take Saul to the desert in the beginning he asks if Lalo sent em and it was Nachos fault or something. So Saul thinks he's still alive in BB? But if Lalo was still alive , Gus life would be miserable in BB.
My theory is, season 6 will take place at the present time. So Lalo is probably on the hunt especially now that Gus is dead.
@scarlet holguin Gus can still think Lalo's dead though. He made that hitman make a call saying the job was done.

Lalo seems so genuinely relaxed here. Talking about his sleep schedule, how his mind works at night, how cosmically wholesome it is that Nacho prefers shut-eye but is still there with Lalo. Damn.
I can't believe how relatable this scene is, Nacho is trying to open the gate and Lalo is sitting right beside it so he has to think of a reason to just be there and wait for Lalo to leave so he can open it, i feel the same way when im trying to grab my hidden snacks from the kitchen and my brother is right there and just wont leave

Given that Jimmy asked the masked Jesse and Walt whether Lalo send them, it implies that Lalo will survive the prequel. And I think Nacho will survive too. He was dragged into this not by his own, he did all because Gus pointed a Gun to his father's head. He's the Jesse of BCS.
Why everyone assumes that Saul knows everything? Gus/Mike can say to him that Lalo is alive (even if he is dead), so Saul will be on a leash, being afraid of cartel.
@@A-Grat-A Half-agreeing with you. I think, Mike will tell Saul, it's done as Lalo made sure Gus thinks, he's dead. When Lalo comes back for Nacho/Gus, Saul will probably somehow be involved in that (maybe Lalo will even get to Saul and Kim for help as she gave him the tip with the rat in his own men) and then Lalo will disappear again, this time getting actually killed by Gus/Mike/Nacho. This time Saul probably won't be briefed and even if he does, he would have reason to believe otherwise as Lalo came back from the dead once already. After that he probably won't be as involved again with cartels and that's why in Breaking Bad the only person, who could threaten hin like Jesse and Walt do, would be Lalo.
It implies that Jimmy thinks Lalo is alive, but it doesn't mean he KNOWS whether or not he is alive.
As popular as Lalo is I think they're gonna give him a big send off in some way. Likely a climactic death. Nacho could very well survive since his death doesn't pertain to Breaking Bad like Lalo's would.
@@A-Grat-A since the story is called better call Saul, I assume Saul will be the one having greater knowledge than Gus concerning Lalo. Given that Gus and all of his right hand men are alive in Breaking Bad, it means Lalo did not manage to kill any of them. So it would be fair to at least have Lalo himself survive. Though killing him isn't an ending I would mind either. But it would mean Lalo died without even doing harm to Gus or his men. And killing Nacho, who was just forced by Gus into doing these actions, wouldn't satisfy Lalo at all
@@vastvision3330 You're wrong, lalo is definitely dead before bb timeline. When gus kills the cartel he says to hector that he's the last living member of salamanca family. Two possibilities that explain "did lalo send you": Saul doesn't know that lalo is dead or he knows but suspects he send hitmans for him before he died.
I don’t know why but I think I’m in love with Lalo during this season.
Yessss
I love the part at 4:12, Nacho was quickly trying to open the door but he didnt expect the infiltration team to be RIGHT THERE when he opened the door, his heart dropped lmao
Too bad Nacho didn't knew about the ricine technique. Oh, men, what a show.
Interesting how the pan Nacho set up ended up helping Lalo later.
It's a pattern that Nacho makes his own problems.
Lalo genuinely trusted Nacho. He had no idea he was working behind his back the entire time, and that Nacho hated his guts.
I don't know if he hated him just so much as he was afraid he would get found out about what he did to Don Hector. He was just immediately in a position where Lalo presence put in between a rock and a hard place. Don't get me wrong. he desperately wanted him to leave but without the gust dynamic it's possible they would have got along. I mean s***, I can't be much the worst than tuco or don Hector or Gus
Man, I wish season 6 was next week. We'll have to wait till next year, probably next 2 years since the pandemic is still going on.
They have already said it is going to be ready not earlier than 2027 :(
@@Crronor 2021 actually.
@@Crronor will mike look any older??? he already looking like metuslach and this is supposed to be before BB and poor Jimmy is looking geriatric
@@shantolion1576 Wrong comparisons, have you seen Don Eladio? He is a freaking mummy at this point
They capture the feeling and vibes of a late night campfire chat very well. One of my favorite parts of camping is chilling by the fire late at night.
Nacho had to send Tuco to prison and cripple Hector in order to start working for the one reasonable Salamanca and he can’t even enjoy working with him
Top Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould: thank you!!!!
both nacho and lalo are loveable characters, I want neither of them to die tbh
I'm sorry man
@@spicy915 lmao this didn’t age well did it
dayum.
You can feel his relief and yet his regret
3:14 funny how they toast to sleep perhaps foreshadowing their deaths. Good job writers.
Honestoy would've been really interesting to see Nacho and Lalo truly team up, since they both bounce off eachother really well.
Better Call Saul has transcended Breaking Bad at this point
Bro, do you remember when Walt killed those men in prision in two minutes? Or when they robbed the train? O just when Hank found out Walt Is Heisenberg? Bre.Bad es better
Breaking bad will always be known as the most legendary show, so you're wrong bro
@@martinlopez2816 Excellent argument!
Idk man I think breaking still is the better story teller and I think ozyomendas is the best showcase of this argument but i respect your opinion.
Breaking Bad: better story
Better Call Saul: better Cinematography and symbolism
The differences are small tho, all in all it's on nearly the same level which is above anything else out there
4:24 I didn't run a casino
God the subtitles on youtube are funny
If only Lalo leads the operation up north instead of Tuco. This Lalo-Nacho duo would be unstoppable.
Lalo is actually a funny character, always smiling and positive and nice.......thats of course when hes nice.
I mean it's kinda sad that Lalo really trusted Nacho enough to bring him to his home and introduce him to Don Eladio and get him promoted, only for Nacho to betray him lol
Michael Mando has crushed it as Nacho.
Lalo actually liked Nacho, he invited Nacho to his home, called him Nachito, introduced him to Don Eladio...Nacho is most likely doomed in season 6 :(
can we talk about how the blurred word is blurred in the wrong side? 3:37
Hole 😑😑😑
nacho was always smart, but he was stuck with tuco at the beginning, and knew that being near him was a dead sentence in the long run. after tuco, hector shows up, he is not better in personality, but at least had a little more head. but hector had to bring nacho´s dad to the equation, something that nacho was not ok with. then comes lalo, who is actually smart and charismatic, probably the type of person that nacho would have wanted from the beginning to be his boss in this bussiness, but by the time lalo appears nacho is taken by gus and is actually forced to betray him.
hector should have listened to nacho´s wishes about his dad, that is the point in the equation that derived into what happens here, and is also the reason hector is in a wheelchair, i would say that his second biggest mistake, after the "pool incident" is this one.
Kim wexler is the true villain of the entire series and I can prove it ...
jimmy is owed millions because of the sandpiper case/ financial settlement which he will get in a few years to the tune of around 2-3 million dollars.
Every wonder why kim sticks around jimmy no matter what he does, bad decisions and now being a friend of the cartel.
She’s waiting for him to become rich, I always thought it was weird how they randomly get married. She marries him almost as soon as jimmy tells her he’s a friend of the cartel.
After last episode when she talks jimmy out of certain death with lalo she was protecting her money.
Kim was the defence for the sandpiper case and she left her job so she can profit on when the case ends and jimmy gets the money and she will then divorce him take half but then blackmail him using the knowledge of him working for a cartel to take ALL his money.
The season finales episode tonight shows her true self when jimmy asks her what she would do with half of the sandpiper money and she says she’ll build a pro bono practice and handpick lawyers from different firms.
She has been planning this for years and stumbles and when jimmy says he’d buy a house a build a future with Kim she totally realises she’s outed her future of being without jimmy.
Ever wonder why in breaking bad saul never once mentions Kim ? Because she breaks his heart and steals his money by divorcing and blackmailing him ...
Walts money was stolen by Elliot and Gretchen fueling his breaking bad and Kim stealing jimmys will be his “breaking bad” 👀
Actually... this is possible! It would be heartbreaking tho. I live kim. I don't want her to do this
It would break my sweet lilttle angel muffin heart if this happens
Mr.CraigLama it’s absolutely evil and it’s a genuis twist if the writers go for it
Ralph Lauren mine too I want to be wrong so bad but I don’t think I am 😫
What a brilliant analysis. I really hope you are right, this would be the plot twist of the century.
Kim broke bad.
Yeah, she will turn into something worst than Saul. And then she will pay the consequences. And that is the reason because she does not appears in BB.

damn I wanted nacho to find out lalo is alived
I didn’t tbh. He died with satisfaction thinking he got the dude killed and like he said, he’d do it again. I like it that way better because it just adds to his own little victory he had before he died.
@@vingasoline5068 I don't think Nacho meant what he said about Lalo during that last part, I think it was for added affect, it's REALLY obvious right here that Nacho doesn't hate Lalo.
@@thepariet7706 He didn't care if Lalo died. He was worried about Lalo's servants dying as they were innocent people that would be killed by the assassins.
Ironically lalo respected nacho way more than gus or any of the other salamancas, nacho would've been better off admitting the truth to lalo honestly
the best thing about this quarantine is having time to watch this show
Lalo really trusted Nacho which is the crazy part, he even had him go inside to grab a drink.

I'm so pissed we will only have one more season!
BCS and BB are shows I wish would never end.
That's the magic, that's why Supernatural and TWD will never get an award.
Scenes like this just makes BCS so good. The last 5 or so episodes of season 5 were the best.
