He accepted responsibility did what he had to, to clear his family, reaffirmed his allegiance to Jessie, provided for them and then died.

Gus was actually pretty lousy at business. This all started when his dealers used a child to kill combo in cold blood. Gus orders the dealers to then kill the child which makes Jesse want to kill the dealers. Walt protects Jesse by killing the dealers himself. At this point, if Gus was a good businessman, he should have simply ended the tit for tat. But instead he tries to bring Gail up to speed so he can dispatch with Jesse and Walt. Gus made very poor decisions from that point forward and he rightly paid for it with his life.

This is the 2nd time Mike took a half measure. The first was when when he was supposed to execute Walt since all they needed was gale. When Walt started frantically begging to speak to Jesse youd think someone who was a cop for over 20 years Mike would have known better and shot Walt dead. Along with Jesse once they found him and Gale would still be alive. Mike should taken his own advice.
In the final scene of Mike, when Walt meets him near the river, Mike says “we had a good thing going” I have to believe the reason he didn’t say that when it was Walt Mike and Jesse is Mike wanted Jesse to see that he respected Walt, as obviously Jesse respected Walt. With Jesse not there, he didn’t hold back.

At the time of this movie ring was barely a thing so no major business would be using it. That leaves major IT companies installing the security. And it wouldn't store all that footage in a single laptop.
Was always amusing to me that Mike thought he could just walk away from all this. Guys like him don't just get to walk away. Only one way it all ends for guys like him and it ain't usually in a good way.

As much as I love this show I personally think the response to the laptop was by far the weakest part of the series as Walt should at least have a basic idea of what encryption is and with his genius as soon as he understands the math and statistics behind it he should know that no one is ever accessing those files as someone like Gus isn't stupid enough to write down a password or make it something even Max himself would be able to guess.
The only real way to prevent that is having a "dead mans switch" so if the laptop isn't properly logged into after a certain time, it automatically starts writing over the hard drive several times. Otherwise the police have the ability to recover whatevers on there. It might take sime time but they have tech experts and data recovery specialists
It’s definitely possible to get into any encrypted computer if you’re committed enough. Hank acknowledged that it was encrypted later. But there is a way to decrypt a device to get access if they have a computer forensics investigator involved. Walt just couldn’t be confident in letting that be a loose end though which makes sense.
"You should've let Gus kill your wife and kids for my sake" is what Mike essentially told Walt. I'm not rooting for Walt by any means, but what do you think Mike would try to do if Gus Fring wanted to kill his family?

FYI, the radios of a folding cell phone are in the body of the cell phone with the battery... not in the flipping part of the phone. Cracking the phone in the middle like Mike did doesn't stop the phone from transmitting to a cell tower. Hell... most folding cell phones don't even have antennas in the cover. That phone could easily still have 5 bars after essentially tearing off the screen. All Michael really accomplished is to make the phone unable to function from the user, but it could very well still be transmitting. He'd literally be better off taking out the battery.

It only gets worse when you factor in Better Call Saul. Where Mike promises justice for what happened to Nacho. Said justice finally happens with the killing of Gus and all Mike can do is get angry about it and threaten to shoot the guy who ended up delivering said justice.

All this downfall began because fucking Jesse couldn’t let go and needed to be a hero. I am glad Walt humbled Mike in the end. Better Call Saul made me hate that Mary Sue of a character.
Yeah. I respect Mike as a character but he has a cancerous fan base that deludes themselves into thinking he's this noble angel of some sort. He's still a hitman who did alot of bad things throughout the show.

As much as I love this show I personally think the response to the laptop was by far the weakest part of the series as Walt should at least have a basic idea of what encryption is and with his genius as soon as he understands the math and statistics behind it he should know that no one is ever accessing those files as someone like Gus isn't stupid enough to write down a password or make it something even Max himself would be able to guess.
The only real way to prevent that is having a "dead mans switch" so if the laptop isn't properly logged into after a certain time, it automatically starts writing over the hard drive several times. Otherwise the police have the ability to recover whatevers on there. It might take sime time but they have tech experts and data recovery specialists
It’s definitely possible to get into any encrypted computer if you’re committed enough. Hank acknowledged that it was encrypted later. But there is a way to decrypt a device to get access if they have a computer forensics investigator involved. Walt just couldn’t be confident in letting that be a loose end though which makes sense.

FYI, the radios of a folding cell phone are in the body of the cell phone with the battery... not in the flipping part of the phone.
Cracking the phone in the middle like Mike did doesn't stop the phone from transmitting to a cell tower. Hell... most folding cell phones don't even have antennas in the cover.
That phone could easily still have 5 bars after essentially tearing off the screen. All Michael really accomplished is to make the phone unable to function from the user, but it could very well still be transmitting.
He'd literally be better off taking out the battery.
