  • This is my updated review on the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus pool cleaner robot. How does the best-selling Dolphin cleaner perform in 2024?!
    Really well! It's still one of the best-valued pool cleaners on the market today!
    There are now two models of the CC Plus. The original model CC Plus has the weekly timer with the physical head unit. It does NOT have wifi. You schedule a weekly timer through the head unit.
    The newer(2023) model has wifi built into the CC Plus. This has a different head unit that can't be programmed physically for weekly cleaning schedules. You must use wifi and the app to program and schedule cleanings!
    Regardless of which model you get, both are physically designed the same and both work amazingly well for the price point!

    I own a cc plus for 4 years
    It doesn't scan or map the pool
    It's very random

    hello. I have the Nautilus Plus model and I wanted to know how I do if the filters fill up before the robot finishes its cycle. I understand that if I turn off the console to clean them, the robot loses the scan and starts cleaning again from the beginning?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 месяца назад

      Yes, that's one of the downsides to these Dolphin models. They still use the mapping and scanning systems that reset after every on/off. I mean, it's fine because it's corded but it'll just start the cycle over again when turned back on and remap from the start.

      Thanks for answering. Could it be that this equipment needs different types of brushes depending on the type of material the pool has? In my case it is with small tiles and it is not climbing the walls. He reaches the wall and keeps pushing until he ends up heading somewhere else. On some occasions we use them and on others we don't.@@imdefinitelydavid

      The CC Plus should climb up tile with no issues. Is this a brand new unit you just purchased? If so, it sounds like a defective unit.
      If it's used, has it ever climbed the tile? If it did before and doesn't now then I would ask you to check the impeller on the cleaner, if there's debris stuck in it it will clog and not have enough power to climb. Also, how old are the tracks/wheels. A bad wheel means it wouldn't climb either.
      Also, are you using the standard filters or ultra-fine filters? When using ultra-fine filters you will loose climbing power because it takes the robot more power to suck in finer debris.
      I don't think Dolphin has special brushes to swap out sorry.

    How much power does it use? Will I be able to run my pool pump less?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 месяца назад +1

      The CC Plus on average costs about 5 cents an hour to run, so one full cycle(2.5 hours) would cost only 12.5 cents. But that's more dependent on your electricity rates in your area. And yes, when running these sort of cleaners you CAN turn off your pump if you choose to. But always remember to turn it back on after, you still need pool circulation but you can run the pump less if running a robotic cleaner. Also, if you have a variable speed pump it's even better because you can lower your rpms and still get a great clean! 👍

    I have a question for anyone who has the answer I have a dolphin M400 I have a fiberglass pool with a step ledge around the wall near the bottom. The robot starts up the ledge but never figures out how to go over it and continue up the wall and do the waterline. I’m assuming part of the problem is that it’s fiberglass so it’s extra slippery. Has anyone ran into this issue or anyone have a suggestion for a different pool robot? I noticed the beat bot aqua sense pro can skim the surface of the pool but I believe that’s when it’s running in different mode so I don’t know if it’s gonna help it climb my walls.

      The M400 is a great cleaner. So if that has an issue climbing that ledge on it's own then I'm more than willing to bet other cleaners will also have that issue.
      Do you have the remote control with the M400? I think it was an optional accessory but I'm not certain. If you have that remote control have you tried to manually move the cleaner up the ledge to target it?
      I love cleaners with remote controls for this particular reason. To target missed and hard to reach areas.

    I'm looking at getting one, but it seems they only have the wifi, was the non-wifi discontinued? Also, can I just leave it inside the pool?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  24 дня назад +1

      Seems the non wifi version is discontinued, unfortunately. And yes, you can leave the cleaner in the pool, but most manufacturers recommend you take it out when not in use. This supposedly helps keep the cleaner in better shape(from chlorine/salt corrosion in pool) but in the past, my other dolphin cleaners I'd leave almost 24/7 and some lasted into the 5 year mark. The CC Plus I'd assume would do the same

    hello I am considering to buy CAYMAN from Dolphin, is that the same model which only has a different name?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  6 месяцев назад

      Hi! The Cayman is a completely different model. It is not the same as the CC Plus. I haven't used the Cayman yet but I've heard from others that it's actually also a very good-valued robot. It's actually newer than the CC Plus with similar features but the Cayman is designed for SMALLER pools only, up to about 33 feet. The CC Plus can be used in pools up to 50 feet.

      Would you recommend this over the super scuba s1? I know they are different but these are the two I’m considering

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 месяца назад +1

      I think what you have to decide first is if you want a corded or cordless cleaner and go from there.
      Are you okay with taking a cleaner out of the pool to charge more often than leaving a corded cleaner in the pool for long periods?
      Most people that I know say they're fine with taking a cordless cleaner in and out all the time but later on complain about it lol

    • @MrRitter1927
      @MrRitter1927 3 месяца назад

      I really don’t care on choosing between cordless or not but if you had to choose between the two what would you pick? I have a fairly small pool 14x24

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 месяца назад +1

      As much as I love my original CC Plus, I would say if you don't care about being corded or not, go for the S1!
      You get more features out of it for the price(smart nav with preset pattern and active waterline scrubbing). Later on, they plan on also adding an optional solar panel you can attach to the cleaner while it's in the pool so I expect that to help with battery life/leaving it in the pool longer.
