It you throw the Golden Vow ash of war on a dagger, you can pop that buff without a faith requirement. You can then reallocate those points to Strength to hit 80 STR on a Level 150 build! (The requirement for Flame Grant Me Strength is 15 Faith, so that might be a good place for Faith)
When you're level 250, yeah, you can totally afford 25 Faith for GV & FGMS, but players won't hit that in their first run. Better to use those points for the important stats (VIG, END, STR). No big Faith buffs = Old Lord's Talisman can swap for Great Jar's Arsenal so you can use better gear quicker. I do always recommend 12 Faith for Bestial Vitality (best FP to HP conversion in the game), Heal (kills Revenants in two hits), and Flame Cleanse Me (trivialize rot & poison areas). Speaking of equipment load, you may as well use any seal that has zero weight instead of the Clawmark, since the incants used here don't care about scaling. Dragon Communion or Frenzied Flame can both be equipped with minimal or no stat investment and weigh nothing. If you really want buffs earlier, use Boiled Prawn or Crab for physical mitigation or any Fortification spell vs appropriate elements (only require 10 Faith), or Exalted Flesh for physical damage, (both are body buffs, so replace FGMS), and/or Uplifting Aromatic for physical damage & a one-shot shield (aura buff, replaces GV). With only a little bit of farming, the Golem's Halberd will serve this build far better than the Giant Crusher. The block-counter playstyle suffers if you're pushed back by the enemy attacks, and while the Crusher has the highest AR for any STR weapon, it also has abysmal range. You want to actually hit your counters reliably, and the Golem's Halberd has the 2nd highest range of any colossal weapon. Fun fact, all stamina regen buffs can stack with each other (a major exception to normal buff stacking). Even while using the Green Turtle Talisman, you can still use Pickled Turtle Neck and/or the phsyic tear for super fast stamina regen. If you don't want to slaughter turtles like a monster, the Bell-Bearing Hunter in Liurnia drops a bell-bearing that allows you to purchase the meat (the other components are very easily found everywhere). Lastly, if you follow the advice of 12 Faith above, and are getting 12 Int for Scholar's Shield, going to 13/13 gets you access to Order's Blade, which lets you kill skeletons dead and just destroy Deathbirds & Deathrite Birds.
i tested the build with my str char at 150 using the greatsword with heavy affinity and works fine, nothing can kill me and i can find opening windows to hit like a truck . Thank you !!!
Totally agree with you that the fingerprint armor set is one of the best visually, especially when paired with Guts’ greatsword 🙌🏼 this build could crush anyone! Great vid 👌🏼
Awesome build. I play Elden Ring very slowly, so my tanky build is the slightly younger version, which still utterly wrecks - Great Stars, Icon Shield, Blackflame or Bloodflame Blade, depending on the fight (and often both) and a sprinkling of other incantations depending on what I'm feeling. Can't wait until I get the levels to run your build. I'm just ok at the game, but I walked into the Godfrey fight right around lvl 90, beat him on the 2nd try, never having seen the fight before...same result with Morgott. This build is a BEAST.
Love the second build it’s literally almost the exact build as mine but I like to go more tank/support while still maintaining solid damage making it extremely versatile
Instead using scholar shield , just do 2 parg of corhyn quest and buy immutable shield incantation . It will make your sheild vulnerable to everything even the blood loss or poison etc.
Loved the build. I’m using Omensmirk Mask, the rest is Veterans Set and the Watchdog Greatsword and the character looks super cool. I am also using the incantation spell Stone of Gurranq for occasional range. I like the Watchdog Greatsword for this build which is also S tier Str because it does not block the view of the character like the Giant Crusher does.
Thank you for this, I'm loving this build. I have struggled with other builds to beat the Fire Giant, but in NG+ with this tank build I got him forst try.
Oh wow! Didint see this one. I've turned to this build from your barbarian build, cuz I didnt have the hammer 😅 The only difference is I am using that equip load talisman instead of dragoncrest, helps my 45 endurance 🙂 The other thing I love about this build is, it actually gives us some selection of attacks like Lion's Claw, Counter, Shield bash and ofc normal.
Dude this is huge. I’m doing my first full play through of the game before the DLC drops and have been running a sword and shield str/faith build but this is exactly what I was looking for. I just suck at build crafting 😂
Just commented on your other video that I used for ng++ This build was so fun for my ng+ run Range was frustrating initially so I added stone of gurranq for fliers and it really rounded the build out
Liked and subed. Was looking for a good strength build and this is super efficient. I was hitting over 2k with lions claw and smacked down radagon and elden beast. The finger print shield with the scholar shield spell is great as well. Build is awesome I recommend anyone to try it out.

Sadly, the Royal Resolve weapon incantation has been MASSIVELY nerfed, to basically unusability. It's simply useless now, but judging by your build, I bet you had some serious fun with it whilst it waorked! Since the nerf, I have re-speced my character to be a Faith/Dex build, utilizing lightning & fire as my main Battle Mage build. Cheers, & game safely brudder!
@@ColdBwoyy the builds a good setup, like a backstory almost. Then gameplay would be a great add on, maybe separate vids but linked to the original build? Idk, great content tho bro
Gotta admit I don't see the appeal in the Fingerprint set appearancewise, it looks like one of those comically half-melted army men toys or something, but if it's not too consequential what armor you use, then I can see if there's another
Better to use a weapon that makes use of the greatshield, like a spear, greatspear, or thrusting and heavy thrusting swords with bleed or other status buildups. You can kill malenia without spending time on buffs by poking with the guard active. Better than going all strength and then one handing a weapon that benefits from two handing it and using a shield that won't block anything during the attack animations for your weapon.
How’d you get the heavy affinity cause i have it it for my greatsword but when i try to put the royal knights resolve on the hammer heavy isn’t an option
The hardcap is at 60 meaning u will hardly get any benefits from levelling past that point. Reaching 50-60 is what u want to reach, highly advise being at 60 for late levels
When people stay abusing guts sword cant wait for the damage on that weapon to get nerfed. Litterly every strength build uses this for free 1 shot damage and know its brain dead if its mega damaging to a tank and 1 shots them. Heck not even a ungabunga build is beating a gut weapon abuser since ultra greatswords have the best crouch attack in the game right besidr spears.
@Vandole yea thats because it got nerfed in this update but i can still agree collasals were way better in other ds games. What kinda makes this worse is the removal of tilt attacks whoch was in every ds game.0 idea why it isnt in this game because thats probably the reason why guard is so busted on shields
Doesn't give you the increased Stamina Guard boost (the stat on shields that determines how much stamina you lose when you block an attack). Meanwhile magic shield does give you increased guard boost

There isn't a weapon called the "Guts Great Sword", I (some of us) already know which GS you are referring to, but if or when you make a build guide, it might be confusing as some people, who aren't familiar with the anime, might try to research where that specific weapon drops or is located; therefore, coming up with virtually nothing.

Could you make a gravity build? Something that revolves around gravity weapons and spells

You absolutely punish Radagon with Giant crusher & royale knight’s resolve
Can I ask, why use the Claw seal, when that only boosts beastial incantations? Or would any sacred seal work?
Because it scales with strength. That means the damage your Incantations deal will scale with your strength attribute.

This build for sure! Pure Strength is the most effective against the Elden Beast since it’s resistance to pretty much everything

Going p to 200+lvl makes it hard to use in 150lvl meta. This many lvl obviously will make it strong.
