    Thank you for all this great help. So I’m looking at a lot of these art tutorials and they seem to focus on technique - a lot of cartooning or handling of materials for an effect. In other words they are helping you (me) to draw or paint a better picture. Excellent. So now you have something that you might be able to sell. But the thing I find lacking is the importance of observation. Looking out at things and connecting with the outside world physically through art. I think we need to spend more time looking at the physical, natural world to become more real through our art. When I draw or paint from a photo of a tree it looks like a picture of a photo. I appreciate all the instruction, the humor, the clever tips, but I want to be absorbed by nature, not so much by my device.

      I know this is from a few months ago but if you really want to draw and don't know what to draw, just draw basic shapes or work on techniques instead of an actual purposeful drawing. Something will come to you eventually and if it doesn't at that moment in time, you still worked on your technique

    • @etherealstars5766
      @etherealstars5766 5 лет назад +6

      A tip: Observe and draw nature. Just choose the nearest random plant, or rock with ridges. Then, infuse the scene with imagination, maybe a castle in the background with the plant at the very front. Or valleys with mist. You can choose from genres like mideveal or autumn. Then add a futuristic jet in the sky?? Idk, just random stuff stimulates the imagination. Then you can form ideas from the randomness. Maybe the futuristic jet is on a new planet to document new species--draw weird plants. Getting started can be tough but just adding more and more things to the first works.
