    Hey guys small correction in something I said. The Pan America in it's first year had a color called "Gauntlet Gray" not Industrial Gray. I said the wrong color name.
    Edit 1-7-23 - Some of the pricing on options I glazed over quickly and now I'm realizing went up, that I wanted to clarify instead of assuming they are the same as 2022.
    Black trim on Road Glide and Street Glide Special is $1,000 instead of the $930 it was in 2022
    Pan American Laced wheel are up to $1,000 (factory option) up from $624. Still worth it. It costs about $2,500 to add them after the fact at a dealer.

      I think it's important to do these, as much as it may seem like a 'grab' of sorts. Due to the algorithm, I think it might be better to do it, than not. Looking forward to the Anniversary info! Thanks for the great narration as always Matt and crew!

    Thanks for the video Matt, you are always informative and pointing out important details. I WAS really hoping all '23s were going to ALL be anniversary models, likes some of the other years. I was planning to get one. However, I'm afraid now the anniversary models will all be like the Icon series: limited and super expensive. Guess we'll find out on the 18th. Hope colors are better, most of the ones that came out (at least as represented on the website) are MEH at best, especially compared to the '22 colors/color combos. Maybe its by MotorCo design, the 120s will be much better, so pay up. Guess I still have my 2003 Anniversary RK classic, maybe keep it until 2024. Look forward to your next ride video and Build series.

    The well to do owner of the Harley dealership thinks Harley’s are currently underpriced…. What a novel thought😒
    Most of us are saving our pennies just to get a base model with no extras at whatever the inflated bump to MSRP the local dealer feels like throwing on, and you’re out here glad when corporate raises the already ridiculously high MSRPs, Harley is getting too boogie

  • @jblackacre2325
    @jblackacre2325 Год назад +2

    Thanks for the updates, Matt.
    What's really intrigued me is the leak out of Switzerland talking about the FLHFB Highway King in 114. I held off buying a Road King because it was in 107. Instead, I put 1K down for a black FXLRST. I hope Harley surprises us with a sweet bike in the FLHFB, and in a color more like the Revival. I wish I could have afforded to get one of those.
    Not that it matters, but I'm not really a fan of the paint color options this year on most bikes. There are a couple where the paint comes together and fits a particular model for some reason, but most of the yellow, gold, red, and blues don't feel right to me. Que Sera though.... I'm looking forward to the 18th.
    Thanks again for the great, consistent content.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  Год назад +1

      I appreciate your thoughts. So are you getting to Low Rider ST then? H-D took some risks with paint for sure. There are some really nice ones in there in my personal opinion though.

    • @jblackacre2325
      @jblackacre2325 Год назад

      @Matt Laidlaw I'm happy to take ownership of the FXLRST because of the 1) 117, 2) handling, 3) fairing and bags 4) cruise control. I know I'd be more than happy with it.
      We'll see though. I'm also pretty attracted to the Road King and that style the Revival had. I like the way they ride and that classic look is doing it for me. I may just wait until the 18th to see what's new with the King line (i.e., RK anniversary[TBD] or Highway King). Worst case, I don't connect with the new offerings for some reason and I have to go to the back of the line and wait a few weeks more for a FXLRST. It wouldn't be the end of the world.
      Lol, first world problems...

    I'm glad they didn't discontinue the softail standard. I just might have to come see Andrew again soon and do a build on one. Possibly an FXRT fairing. I haven't seen that done yet, its always on the LRS. They look great on LRS, but I like chrome so softail standard would be a better starting point. Not worried about the smaller tank, my Pan Am is for the long distance rides.

    I visited one of the bmw dealership here in new england and 2023 R18sticker is 16.5k and negotiable. All their bikes have price tag. H-D dont put pricetag on every dealership now so they can ask for more money. Last spring i went to H-D wanting to get the LR ST and paying for cash. But they want almost 30k! I end up buying 2022 S1000XR.

    Hi Matt from North East Victoria, Australia. Great vdo and thanks for all the info and looking forward to seeing the really new stuff for 2023. Hopefully we're going to get some big surprises. I own a 2021 Sport Glide and love it and bought it because of the luggage AND the cruise control which Is a must on a continent the size of Australia! My wife has always wanted a Fat Bob but because of a badly broken arm and wrist from several years ago, owns a CF Moto 700 CL-X BECAUSE IT HAS CRUISE CONTROL and she can take her aching right hand off the bars. Introducing cruise control to the Fat Bob is a massive win for her and as soon as they arrive here, she'll be buying one. Love that Industrial Yellow on the Street Bob!! Something that has surprised me is the price for adding ABS. 950 bucks!!! That isn't buttering any kippers for me !!! Luckily everything we get here in OZ has ABS but no doubt we've paid for it in the RMSP.

      Hi Simon. Thanks for watching all the way from Australia. Yes! It sounds like the cruise control on the fat bob is going to be a game changer for your wife. Enjoy!

    Great catch on the Softail cruise control info. Last year HD advertised LEDs for the Fatboy bullet lights, but they were incandesant. I notice they make a point of advertising they are LED for 2023. Can you clarify?

    That's satin chrome was a novelty but give good old cholo chrome any day...
    That white sand pearl reminds me of Matt's old Street Glide , kinda makes you wonder if Matt will pull the trigger on that 2023 Road Glide St .

    Happy new year to all at Laidlaws all the best for the comeing season. I must add that i would love to see a smaller version of the PA haveing bought one last year it can be a handfull in the dirt so a lighter mid class version would be great.

      Yea, I think a lot of people are asking for that. Especially since that’s the flavor of the month in the ADV world right now. 100 pounds lighter makes a big difference off road. Personally I like a road bias bike because that’s the majority of my miles.

    Clear & Concise = Authoritative. Like the new colours. I don’t get why H-D only have Low Riders in one other colour than black when you tell me they are so popular, seems strange.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  Год назад +1

      I find that kinda strange as well. My best guess is that the lack of colors somehow play into the performance image of the bike. It would seem though that on a bike that sells a lot of units you’d offer a larger variety of colors. In the car world though, the top end performance stuff has few colors as well but I think those are also very limited production cars. 🤷‍♂️

    Very curious what's going on with the Nightster.
    1250 option and TFT? I hate the way the RevMax sounds, but if they offered the Nightster with those two I might be able to get over it, especially in that new blue or gray. If it turns out to be a 500ci model or something like that, then yawn.

    To me, "just a color" can make or break the bike (just like wheels). Sometimes, a small cosmetics adjustement can make a whole lot of difference. A good exemple is the new Low rider S with the meter being moved from the tank to the handle bar: tank= no buy, handlebar = buy. Just my personal taste!

    Getting rid of the sportster was a massive mistake. Harley has no entry bike that represents a true Harley style, look and sound. The Nightster is a Rebel just more expensive.

    Ugh, I hate that they're still going with the slotted wheels on the Fatboy instead of the solid lakesters. Also, the trailing wing on the HD logo does not look as good as the double wings the Fatboy had pre-2022. Hopefully, Harley changes it back soon
