I just tried to think of legends who played most or all of their career with one team and had longevity
@dfp_01 Bonds was the first one I did and my dumbass added his totals by hand before I realized baseball-reference already separates career totals by team played for lol. So it's 1440, not 1498
@hkgcgsdhjgd ah I thought they were a team that changed names and location but remained the same franchise, kinda like how the Expos and Nationals are technically the same team for stat purposes. 1474 is the new number for Honus then
The dodgers have 21 pennants as a franchise… I can’t believe it’s taken me til now to realize just how little of that has been accomplished by having great hitters play there long term. Based strictly on RBIs they had great players who debut in the 40s, as we all know. They had a great run of position players debut in the late 60s/early 70s… and then it’s guys like Karros, Kemp and Eithier in recent times. Not bad players but not even close to hall of famers. That’s so odd considering the overall history of the franchise. Really puts the importance of great pitching into perspective
I appreciate Jolly righting his wrongs and making the correct choice. However would have been top tier trolling is he picked Hank Aaron on the Brewers.
He'd have been a better pick than Trout, for sure! He still wouldn't provide a big outfield number, but when you're in the late game, a franchise leader who played 20 seasons has to get consideration.
Fun idea here to switch it up a bit would be giving each guy 9 random teams to use throughout the draft + 1 wildcard to swap out one of the teams with one of the 3 teams remaining, think it would be a lot of fun for everyone!!
I just got back from a 24-hour travel day (cancelled flight, delays, missed connections) and almost cried tears of joy when I opened up RUclips and saw this thumbnail
You should do an OPS+ draft. Sure, everyone knows who had the most hits, home runs and RBI- but do you know who had the highest on-base plus slugging for a particular season, relative to the league average?
Do a draft where you have to do the same thing, but can’t draft any of the top 3 players on a team, just to heighten the chance for legendary pulls. Just an thought 😅
Lou Gehrig with the 0.91 RBI per game is insane. Projected with Pete Roses games played, he would have 3,241 RBI. Also would have had 4,778 hits and 810 projected homers.
Games played in a season then for all time all time games played for a franchise and to get pitchers involved 2 starters and a reliever on each line up if not a full staff for it’s own set of drafts
*SPOILERS AHEAD* The lineup I came up with before watching the video. C: Johnny Bench, Cincinnati Reds - 1,376 RBI 1B: Todd Helton , Colorado Rockies - 1,406 RBI 2B: Craig Biggio, Houston Astros - 1,175 RBI 3B: Jim Thome, Cleveland - 937 RBI SS: Honus Wagner, Pittsburgh Pirates - 1,474 RBI OF: Hank Aaron, Milwaukee/ Atlanta Braves - 2,202 RBI OF: Willie Mays, New York/ San Francisco Giants - 1,859 RBI OF: Ty Cobb, Detroit Tigers - 1,811 RBI DH: Lou Gehrig, New York Yankees - 1,995 RBI Total: 14,235 RBI I didn't realize that Jim Thome played as many seasons as he did outside of Cleveland. I wanted to say Mike Schmidt, but Jolly gave his name in the intro as he was explaining the rules, so I felt like picking him would be cheating.
Doubles draft? A lot of homer guys were also double guys but there are more double guys, especially from the older eras of the sport. I'd find it especially tough to nail down good seasons for players though. You could also just do a broader XBH category if that's too hard.
Where did 95 of Hank's RBI not counted for Hank Aaron - 2,297 Albert Pujols - 2,218 Babe Ruth - 2,214 Alex Rodríguez - 2,086 Cap Anson - 2,075 Barry Bonds - 1,996 Lou Gehrig - 1,995 Stan Musial - 1,951 Ty Cobb - 1,944 Jimmie Foxx - 1,922 Eddie Murray - 1,917 Willie Mays - 1,909
What's the number of appearances at a position required for eligibility? Because Edgar played a lot of 3rd early in his career, more than 25% of his appearances there.
No idea why yall hate Ty Cobb so much. He wasn’t a bad dude, he was slandered by a journalist. His family were abolitionists, he was anti-segregation, and he spent all of his money in philanthropy. As a matter of fact used a large amount of his money to set up decent hospital in Royston Georgia (his hometown). I know this because I’m from one town over. He was a good man. Although I think he was a drunk. My great grandfather knew Ty Cobb and my great grandfather was a drunk and said they used to drink together.
drafts are definitely the best series on here
by far
Ref guess kills but lineups are fuego
RefGuess is easier to play along with but these are typically more entertaining
@@nicholaso4302like Waco
They hit the niche I needed
"I'm going to right my wrongs" says Jolly as he knowingly picks a catcher who played for multiple teams at #2 in an all time draft
Let his Mets bias get in the way lol
I think he has a learning disability tbh
mike pizza merchant
Dalton correcting Jolly's pronunciation is crazy
It would be kinda cool if there was a graphic that kept track of what teams are off the board
C-Yadier Molina 1022
1B-Harmon Killebrew 1325
2B-Ryne Sandberg 1061
SS-Honus Wagner 1474
3B-Mike Schmidt 1595
OF-Barry Bonds 1440
OF-Mickey Mantle 1509
OF-Andruw Jones 1117
DH-Ted Williams 1839
Total - 12382
With teams coming off the board I would definitely struggle but outside of Mike Schmidt none of those names were mentioned. I just tried to think of legends who played most or all of their career with one team and had longevity
Honus Wagner played 3 seasons with the Louisville Colonels, so you have to subtract that from his total.
Bonds collected nearly 1500 RBI with the Giants? Wow
1474 is the new number for Honus then
Go crazy. Fielding errors. Do an All Time Draft with the usual positions plus SP and RP so that you have 10 picks and need to use all 30 teams.
17:50 Shelfy "I win" because he knew Edgar Martinez had slightly more RBI than Griffey... proceeds to take Luis Gonzalez over Duke Snider.
Especially as an mlb the show player
Not sure if it'll get mentioned as I'm halfway through, but for the Giants:
Willie Mays: 1859 RBIs
Mel Ott: 1860 RBIs
Definitely got cut, but was probably gonna be mentioned
People don't talk enough about Mel Ott as an all-time great.
I would love the chaos of a triples draft
Evan Gattis, if you can get the season right. He's like the Brady Anderson of triples.

Can't wait for the HBP draft
for some reason i didn’t expect shelfy’s handwriting to be that neat
I appreciate Jolly righting his wrongs and making the correct choice. However would have been top tier trolling is he picked Hank Aaron on the Brewers.
loving the draft vids, hope yall keep em coming with creative topics!
19:05 jolly doing the trump dance lmfao
always love the drafts. would love to see combined stat drafts. Like hits + RBIs, or Walks+SB. Might be too much math for the host though.
I wish they could a series of these drafts of Lucas vs everyone else 🤣 I bet Lucas will still win on his own
Lucas is the perfect host for these challenges
He's better as a participant.
@@jmg999It wouldn't be better content because he'd win every time
Am I the only one SCREAMING Tony Gwynn at my phone?!? Dude deserved some love late in the draft.
Not a big power hitter, so he didn't get a crazy number of RBI in his career, but it still would have been a much better pick than Luis Gonzalez.
He'd have been a better pick than Trout, for sure! He still wouldn't provide a big outfield number, but when you're in the late game, a franchise leader who played 20 seasons has to get consideration.
How about some praise for the unsung relievers and do a holds draft?
Jm baseball I promise I’ll watch in 29 minutes when my dining hall opens I promise 🙏🏼
You better be watching RIGHT NOW 😡
Surprised dalton did not go Tony Gwynn with the padres still out there
love these videos so much please keep them coming and always put the best possible lineup its very interesting to see
Ouch on that Piazza pick. Blinded by the Mets love. Love the series!

Fun Draft idea: Draft the players that have played for the most teams.
RBIs. Runs Batted In(s).
Nails on a chalkboard. Like hearing “the MLB”
Hearing someone say “he had 100 RBI” just sounds wrong RBIs for whatever reason sounds better
You should do an OPS+ draft. Sure, everyone knows who had the most hits, home runs and RBI- but do you know who had the highest on-base plus slugging for a particular season, relative to the league average?
Mike Piazza as the 3rd best Met with only 655 RBIs is insane.
Bench was the second best possible catcher behind Berra, but he was best available when mentioned
Best series on here, I hope they don’t get to know the category beforehand.. not as cool
Do a draft where you have to do the same thing, but can’t draft any of the top 3 players on a team, just to heighten the chance for legendary pulls. Just an thought 😅
The seven nation army moment goes hard
How is Willie Mays so late???
Well, he did pass away in June…
I’ll show myself out.
Lou Gehrig with the 0.91 RBI per game is insane. Projected with Pete Roses games played, he would have 3,241 RBI. Also would have had 4,778 hits and 810 projected homers.
Finally picked Henry "Hank" Aaron
Hit by pitch draft would be hilarious...for both batters and pitchers.
Not me screaming Ernie Banks at my computer

Dalton taking George Brett gives me peace
Bro took mr national over Mr padre? 🐸
I am proud that there wasn't 1 single 50/50 for Dalton where he could fuck it up
Please do 2020 versions of the stats you’ve already done. It needs its own because no one will ever pick them 😢

Honus Wagner would've completely flipped the game on it's head if someone picked him

I didn't realize that Jim Thome played as many seasons as he did outside of Cleveland. I wanted to say Mike Schmidt, but Jolly gave his name in the intro as he was explaining the rules, so I felt like picking him would be cheating.
Yogi Berra would have been a great early pick. Blocks Ruth and Gehrig and puts up 1430 at catcher (even more than Bench).
Can we get a strikeouts draft? Would be pretty cool to see who can remember the biggest whiff years
From batters not pitchers of course
this was so chaotic
Draft an all time lineup with players with the most strikeouts
Please do this for every stat I can’t have this series end
Doubles draft? A lot of homer guys were also double guys but there are more double guys, especially from the older eras of the sport. I'd find it especially tough to nail down good seasons for players though. You could also just do a broader XBH category if that's too hard.
Where did 95 of Hank's RBI not counted for
Hank Aaron - 2,297

Babe Ruth - 2,214
Alex Rodríguez - 2,086
Cap Anson - 2,075

Whole time, but definitely gets more noticeable around then.
After losing my dearly beloved Foolish Bailey OOTP Oakland A’s videos, JMB drafts are my last bastion of hope in this cruel, cruel world
RYAN ZIMMERMAN DRAFTED LET'S GOOOOOOO
Alright but with how they do snake drafts in a draft with an odd number of selections, the person picking first has such an advantage.
let me guess, they didn't pick Ty Cobb.
edit: I was correct. Also they STILL DONT PICK EDGAR MARTINEZ. Slander.
I scream Ty Cobb EVERY TIME haha
strikeouts next
wins plus saves with 5 pitchers 3 relievers
Another Idea: Pitcher Appearances
What's the number of appearances at a position required for eligibility? Because Edgar played a lot of 3rd early in his career, more than 25% of his appearances there.
Do win, era, double, or games played
Why didn't they give the option of putting Yaz at 1B after giving that option for Stan the Man?
Let's see, you've done homers, hits, rbis, ks, WAR, SBs, so maybe BA or Pitching wins, or saves is probably better
They should all pick 10 players to have every team accounted, 9 primary position players and a Util.
So you want them to draft pitchers, too?
Pitcher strikeouts
Strikeouts draft
Miguel Tejada and Ian Kinsler back to back is such a bad look. "Is Michael Young 2nd base eligible??"
What is happening
Pitcher wins draft!
No idea why yall hate Ty Cobb so much. He wasn’t a bad dude, he was slandered by a journalist. His family were abolitionists, he was anti-segregation, and he spent all of his money in philanthropy. Do pitcher wins/saves
starting pitcher career WHIP
How do u have an all time draft without jake?!!
Not taking Campanella was a whiff for sure
Dalton lost the second he gave Aaron to Jolly
I'm really disappointed in Dalton goin Trout over Salmon, could have had 62 more RBIs...
Can't believe we're still falling for Al Stump's lies about Ty Cobb.
we want batter Strikeouts please!!!
Dalton just fell apart starting with Trout. He hit a lot of leadoff on many mediocre teams! He did it again...
