The 2000 Royals are crazy numbers, Mike Sweeney, Carlos Beltran, Jermaine Dye, Johnny Damon, Joe Randa, Rey Sanchez... A great baseball ref page. They couldnt pitch at all but man they swung it.
As someone who was watching baseball carefully in the mid 2000s, it's painful not to hear Jermaine Dye (Royals and White Sox), Mike Sweeney, Carlos Beltran. Someone else mentioned it in the comments, but the 2000 Royals had some insane bats. Carlos Guillen always seems to be forgotten too, but he raked for the Tigers for a few years. Injuries were a concern at times.
Being a White Sox fan, these drafts hurt so much, they always think that Thome was on the team in 05 and they always think that is Konerkos best season
All due respect to Jake and any of the other guys who have appeared on the draft segments in the past, but Dalton, Shelfy, and Jolly are the dream team. Absolutely hysterical banter back-and-forth, and just fantastic chemistry. 🤣
my lineup C 2004 Ivan Rodriguez - 86 1B 2019 Carlos Santana - 93 2B 2014 Ian Kinsler - 92 3B 2006 Joe Crede - 94 SS 2023 Bobby Witt Jr. - 96 OF 2003 Carlos Lee - 113 OF 2006 Jermaine Dye - 120 OF 2010 Delmon Young - 112 DH 2015 Kendrys Morales - 106 TOTAL - 912 1st place
That was my 1B pick. But he wouldn't have qualified because he was mostly a DH that year. I thought he had better seasons in the mid 90's but 2000 was his career high for RBIs. Also he was the MVP runner up and somehow didn't make the all-star game, which is wild.
I’m not an expert but I was saying 2000, 2000. 2000, 2000! When he was debating 00 and 01 for the correct Big Hurt year. I think Dalt had it, but Jolly was hanging there until he got the pick in the 40s.
This is the second time I got so excited when Shelfy said Magglio and screamed in agony when he said in 2005.
Where is the first ever RBI draft champion Joez Mcfly?
He retired after finally winning one
He doesn’t know ball outside the AL east respectfully
@@badbadchacha maybe so but it would have been funny to see him do this draft
@@brettadiah10 he won one before last week
He probably wasn’t able to name an AL central team

As a Royals fan, it really hurt me not to hear anyone pull one of those guys for this one
@RoyalChiefKC95 people forget about Mike Sweeny.
Mike Sweeney 2000 was definitely one for me! 144. Crazy.
As soon as Jolly said Alex Gordon I immediately remembered Mike Sweeney. I guessed 2000 so I would have nailed it.
Finally a Jim thome guess and Dalton shits the bed
Trust me I was not happy I screwed up the Thome year either haha!
“Don’t do that with the marker”

Ngl. I didn't expect Shelfy to replace Jolly in the intro. I'm not complaining, though.
Sounds like you are
@@PHXNKVHXLIC I'm not. 😭

Come from the 00's baseball names nostalgia stay for the O'Reilly Auto Parts jingle being sung in pretty decent harmony
Really hoping for a 2000 Mike Sweeney guess from someone
Edit: that’s a shame.
people forget Mike Sweeney and that's a shame
@@spartacus778 as a lifelong Royals fan that grew up in the 2000s, he was one of the few good players we had
Your edit made me lol.
The Moncada pull had me thinking, you guys should do "bad" versions of these, like most strikeouts for hitters, most errors, most ER given up, etc.
Keep up the great work jolly and the boys! Loving these draft vids
All due respect to Jake and any of the other guys who have appeared on the draft segments in the past, but Dalton, Shelfy, and Jolly are the dream team. Absolutely hysterical banter back-and-forth, and just fantastic chemistry. 🤣
As a Royals fan, I’m personally offended that Mike Sweeney didn’t even get a shoutout for having the most RBI of any player
The sound bite at 14:35 has me dying haha
“Fuck, ahhh.”
Castellanos was a 3B
Did you know 2024 is tied for 5th worst year for AL batting average since 1901? You do now!
Guys gotta go more late 90’s early 2000’s there were some crazy RBI numbers with all that juice flowing
I think the barrier is 2000
Yeah 2000 is the lower bound.
Shelfy getting last after talking like that is tough lol these are always fun
i love these vids i can watch them all day
Love the Iron Pigs scrapple cap!

2012 Miggy - 139
2023 Witt Jr - 96

2000 Manny - 122
2007 Magglio - 139
2000 Big Hurt - 143
Total: 1,099 RBI
For these RBI drafts, you gotta go with the early 00s steroid era guys, if you can remember them
I pulled a Moncada auto from Gypsy Queen a couple years ago and got super hyped. Unfortunately that hype was sort of short lived
Yay they remembered to do the best possible card at the end!
They need to do a 2020 draft
You beat me to it.
Bonus question: which huge budget team won its only WS in decades?
As a Cleveland fan I was sitting here screaming for Juan Gonzalez and others from that 01 team.
I love all the shit these guys give each other.
I was screaming Mike Sweeney since Pick No. 1!!!
2005 Victor Martinez 80
2006 Justin Morneau 130
2007 Placido Polanco 67
2007 Carlos Guillen 102
2010 Miguel Cabrera 126
2007 Jermaine Dye 78
2007 Magglio Ordonez 139
2009 Michael Cuddyer 94
2002 Jim Thome 118
Total: 938
Jose Abreu was a different breed on the White Sox
im surprised they didn't mention Nelson Cruz
Shelfy has been a great add
2000 Frank Thomas
That was my 1B pick. But he wouldn't have qualified because he was mostly a DH that year. I thought he had better seasons in the mid 90's but 2000 was his career high for RBIs. Also he was the MVP runner up and somehow didn't make the all-star game, which is wild.
That Haf pic is something.
hell yeah, dalt remembered that manny was still an Indian in 2000. nice pull.
I can’t believe Mike Sweeney in 2000 wasn’t said. Somebody missed out on 144 RBI’s
I kept screaming Torii Hunter!!!
2006 Dye was incredible
Rare day I would’ve won one! From Jolly’s spot, had V Mart and Frank Thomas’ career years
Kinsler was in my mind from the start of the video
Lucas Duda played for the Mets and the Royals!
Polanoc had 98 in 21. Surprised no guessed Boomstick Nelson Cruz. Had 108 in 19.
The O’Reily’s Auto Parts theme pull made me say ‘holy shit’ audibly in my living room by myself. The cringe is real with these fellas
Dalton nailed that “oww!” though
@@hpdrfter lmao I won’t deny it
Screaming 2012 Josh Willingham
I hope they let Lucas on 😅me of these it would be fun to see what perfect play would look like.
RBI IS THE PLURAL OF RBI
2007 Torii Hunter.
06 cuddyer
06 Jermaine Dye
Shelfy needs to be in every video.
Surprised Jolly didn't go early 2000s Beltran.
Shelfy not knowing Thome was on the white sox lol
Shelfy taking Jolly’s spot on the intro and ad read?
How do I get Dalton milly-rocking out of my head lol
so brutal
Look at all those R’sBIs
Alex Rodríguez had 156 RBIs in 2007 and played 3B
Also 142 in 2002 at SS for Arod
2015 royals were different
shelfy blinked first
The coorect answer is the 1999 Indians - 1009 runs scored
We need a draft of the most strikeouts by a batter
I was hoping for a 2016 Napoli pull
No Nelson Cruz Bombasquad shocked me, dh only but 40 bombs and 108 rbi
When u can’t figure out a good catcher, it’s always Javy Lopez. Lmao. Ooops not this time
Jeter had 102 RBIs in 1999
Ah yes, I love a good RsBI draft
Damn I’m early today. Let’s go DALT!
Not sure if these numbers say more about the contestants or the AL Central
They missed a good pull of Eric Homsers 2016 year
Any idea what shelfy's hat is from?
Castellanos was a 3b his entire first three seasons
Juan Gonzalez 2001
Bobby Higginson 2000!!!
Should have took Carlos Quentin 2008
Shelfy better get a Magglio 07 tattoo
Bobby Witt Jr 2023 had 96 I think
How does no one pick Bobby Witt Jr at SS?
All the Bomba Squad talk and nobody took Cruz, smh
Where is Justin Morneau when you need him
What hat is Shelfy wearing?
2014 castellanos only played 3rd base, shouldnt have counted as an outfielder for dalton
what hat is Shelfy wearing ???
im hurt because ik most of the names on the best team
how did nobody say 2023 bobby whitt jr?
How does no one remember Jermaine Dye???
Shelfy still wins with the right Magglio year
Nobody said Torii Hunter???
Shelfy low key cosplay macho man
Albert Belle 1996 :)
No love for my boy Joe Crede?

I think Dalt had it, but Jolly was hanging there until he got the pick in the 40s.
Not a fan of Lucas in the host role, his voice. Great panel 🔥
Y’all never learn to take the crazy offensive early 2000s years. Quit picking the deadball years in the middle 2010s!
Miggy not getting drafted is disgraceful. How do you miss the best hitter of your own generation?
Lets see if Jolly can name a player from before 2021 and not make the video entirely about himself.
Mission 1 accomplished.
Mission 2 failed.
Juan Gonzalez was in the AL Central? huh, learn something new everyday.
R’S B I’S
Y’all don’t know shit about the AL Central.
If there was a draft without Jake, did it really happen?
