Hi there. Great video. It brought back memories. In 1965, I was 5 years old and our family went for a holiday at Whangaparoa peninsula. My parents knew the farmer who owned the peninsula so we were able to camp on what I now know was the southern side. No houses back then. Okoromai Bay perhaps? We could see land a long way away. We thought it must be England, because our Grandmother lived in England and England was a long way away. My parents stayed in the caravan and my brother and I were in a tent. Dad put out a set net for flounder but caught a stingray. We were very impressed. (We didn't know any better.) I bought a new fishing kayak a week ago and I am taking it out for its first outing to Raglan harbour tomorrow. Not many snapper in the harbour at this time of year but I am hoping for a kahawai or perhaps a trevalli or gurnard.
