No offense but that rod reel and line is way too heavy to be considered Ajing tackle. When using plastics and jigs main line is usually ester (1-2lb test) or PE 0.1-0.3. Generally the reel is 2000 or under. Rod is usually much lighter. Line rating is usually 1-6lb max. Ajing rods are listed as UL, SUL, and XUL.

Just found your content. Great stuff! Made me homesick. Unusual to get a carrot close in. We used to get them out in the channel directly out from Little Huia boat ramp in the winter. Best fish ever for me was a very big blue moki from the rocks around from the little Huia boatshed.
