    Why don't you get a small shock? Is it because the voltage is too low and you cannot feel it ?

  • @jensenmacneil6914
    @jensenmacneil6914 4 года назад +2

    Hey! Thanks for the help! Can you explain why we dont feel a shock when touching the bare wire?

    • @rhettallain
      @rhettallain  4 года назад +2

      If you are using a D-cell battery (1.5 volts), that's not a shock. The wire gets hot if you have the wire going from one end of the battery to the other (this is called a short)

    • @jensenmacneil6914
      @jensenmacneil6914 4 года назад

      @@rhettallain Why don't we feel the electricity while holding the wires and lightbulb?

    • @jensenmacneil6914
      @jensenmacneil6914 4 года назад

      Is the voltage not high enough in the battery? Is it because the wire is a better conductor? Plz help were presenting in 2 mins

    • @rhettallain
      @rhettallain  4 года назад +1

      @@jensenmacneil6914 it's both. When you get shocked, you mostly feel the electric current. With 1.5 volts, the current is super low. Also, if you are holding onto a wire, then most of the current goes through the wire and not your body.

    So today we were doing a lab in science with these and we supposed to light up the light. We were also allowed to do an extra thing. some kid did his braces and it somehow worked so what I did was put it in my iPad charger port and what happens next is the iPad just blinks black and white it looked like a barcode my iPad was REALLY fucked up. It still doesn’t work.
