@@rajabuta Cena is a better actor. This is not a debate.
The saddest thing is that due to his condition, even as an adult he couldn't find any legitimate form of employment. Hence, crime was his only option.
That's always a good route for a villain origin if you want a decent human being forced to turn to crime.
In Batman Earth One Volume 2 they introduce Waylon Jones who the news outlets name Killer Croc. He's a man with a form of genetic disorder who was sold to a carnival, had his teeth forcibly sharpened, and put on display as the crocodile boy in a sideshow attraction.
He eventually got out and in his adult years the condition only worsened so he has a greenish skin tone and his complexion is akin to reptilian scales.
He tells a story about how he went to a deli to get something to eat and was even trying to pay for his food and the owner panicked and shot him based on his appearance. So Waylon instead lives in the sewers away from society.
It's a great origin for the character and makes him more compelling then a simply dumb brute character type.
@@ToonGrinfunniest thing for Croc’s origin stories is that his very FIRST one is where he was a mob boss in Gotham. Instead of being horribly mutated like most versions these days, he looked like the one from Arkham Origins instead but always wore a suit and even had henchmen. My guy was straight up built different and had class to back it. Shame DC has made him much more broken.
Demolition, Fracking, Salt mine extraction, Quarry digger, landfill burner… there’s a few jobs.
@@4aw50fGoldIt would be interesting to see Croc in one of those jobs. If an employer was able to get pass the initial disturbing features and fear of being eaten someone like Croc could be a real asset.

I remember watching this movie with my little brother, who had already seen it, and the part where he was like, "I'm a superhero!" made me so happy! That's hilarious, I would've made the same face
I dont like watching new movies/shows with others so i watch them first before i show my family. It often leads to situations like this. I kept giving my mothers friend a side eye while we watched a show because she loved three characters who all died

True
If you ask me this is how it’s done when it comes to having an emotional scene end with humor.
A funny and ridiculous scene that is carried through the tone
Its a art .majority of ppl in hollywood dont get the flow
And that’s James Gunn for you😭he has a pretty messed up mind for his earlier works but guardians of the galaxy and the suicide squad are solid
This guy and Rat Catcher don't really seem to belong in the Suicide Squad. The others make sense but those two just aren't really villains. One was a thief and the others a science experiment.
I felt so bad for him. The best time in his life i think was at the bar. 😢
.... And before he got crushed 😂
Wasn't that moment in the bar when all those girls looked like his mom. Unless he was drunk his reaction make me have even more concerns for him😂😂
I was really happy with how they handled someone like Polka-Dot Man… someone who has always been seen as a joke in the comics.

Polka dot man legit might have one of the most tragic and traumatic back stories ever. Your mother experimenting on you and your siblings watching them die for her vain and sick dream and now living with seeing your worst fear in every face.
This is how you do exposition well. Take notes phase 4 marvel
DC releases maybe 1 movie a year and Marvel cranks out multiple. I enjoy both and I find it strange that people die on one specific hill just because they’re haters.
Marvel does much better number wise, though.
@@Monkey_11marvel isn't doing that hot numbers wise recently with james gunns new dc universe im predicting a massive shift in dc movies popularity considering how great what he's already done for dc is
@@braedenbelgrove9878 no I totally agree but this has been a semi recent thing. They’re definitely started to tank and DC is doing the opposite.
@@Monkey_11 I love both. My two favorite heroes are Black Panther and Superman. I totally agree that DC has dropped the ball multiple times. I feel like they have hopefully turned the corner. Phase 4 marvel writing is killing me though. A lot of it is just terrible.
Waller may see those in Task Force X as nothing but expendable assets and tools but some of them like Polka Dot Man are victims who were dealt bad hands in life that they didn't deserve.
This guy’s tragic backstory is beyond heartbreaking. 😢
Surprisingly, and I would never say this normally, Polka Dot Man was easily a top 3 character in this film. Great actor as well.
One of my friends watched this with me for the first time. He about jumped out of his seat and then laughed hysterically about how many outfits they had her wear just for these few seconds of screen time
What confuses me is that according to interviews, James Gunn said that this scene was supposed to make you dislike Polka Dot man, because “he was using his sob story to get people to like him”, but like, he only brought this up after the others aggressively forced him to.
That's so dumb. There's no indication that he's some snake trying to get sympathy from people for his own advantage.
Yeah like all he did was answer exactly what they asked. The only part that was unprompted was how he got it in response to "the fuck is that?" which is still not that bad of an answer.
That's weird. Kinda wish we got gunn's vision. It makes sense for the comic character i guess. He's a villain. Instead this is sad.
What? I love him more now. Goofy thought process
So we're supposed to hate the antihero/antivillain for having feelings and a past...

Best DC movie of the last decade
We all assumed he was just traumatized, but watching this back when he says "everywhere"... I think in her experiments she messed up with space and time, and in some plane of reality that only he can see : she genuinely left a part of her in every living human.

Damn Polkadot man should have lived that's sad how he grew up
I can’t imagine looking at the same person as everyone I would lose my shit

Damn I remember crying so hard listening to him talk about his siblings deaths. Then that final shot of his mom everywhere made me absolutely lose it. Great writing, acting, editing and vision. Still watch this movie to this day…
You gotta understand she wore the entire suicide squad
*Spoiler*
Man. I was so happy for Polkadot man in the end with the “I’m finally a superhero” line. It’s a shame he died literally 0.2 seconds after. I really liked his character development…
They did a stupid thing by killing him.

😂 the mom in a Peacemaker suit was hilarious
Ik the lady that played his mom had a blast getting to dress up as everybody 😂
This made Polka Dot man from a goofy villain into a seriously tragic figure. Poor dude.
David Dastmalchian kills it in every role he's in. He did an episode of cinema therapy recently, I highly recommend it.
David Dastmalchian is such a great actor. He deserves more credit than he gets.
He died a sad death he screamed I'm. A SUPERHERO AT THE LAST battle and got crushed
I don't remember they random dude with full facial hair being on the team ?
He’s one of the freedom fighters that kill the dictator at the end
Underrated super hero. And a real super hero at that.
I think the most accurate illusion of his mom would be nanahue’s
If you’ve never seen this movie I highly recommend it, it’s fantastic
I am not familiar with Polka Dot Man but holy shit I did not expect everyone to be his mother.
Yeah in the comics he was less tragic and more a villain of the week. He was more tech based, his dots had a lot of functions, like one dot can be thrown as a projectile that turns into a flying buzzsaw, another dot can turn into a hover board for flying, one dot can turn into a sun that blinds people like a flashbang, and, just like the movie version, throws dots that melts stuff like acid.
I was excited most about seeing Polka Dot Man onscreen and everyone involved did not disappoint 😊
Polka Dot Man deserved better…
Amazing how a joke villain become a tragic character made me like him.
David Dastmalchian is awesome bruh. He's one of those actors where you don't realize how often you see him unless you really think about it. Antman 1, 2 and 3, Dune, Prisoners, The Suicide Squad, Bird Box. He's also a Nolan regular. He plays a role in quite a few of his movies. He's also a Villeneuve regular which is crazy because theres an argument to be made that they're the 2 best modern directors. This guy has a crazy resume and most have no idea.
After this I couldn’t take the movie seriously no more.
i wonder if the siblings that lived got powers
Probably but if its anything like him their probably suffering elsewhere.
