Great tips I don't usually sell hats my husband seems to want to keep them. I love the hats you give away as a proud family of several service members i would be proud to ware your free giveaway. Email being sent.
I just bought a huge lot in an auction. Ended up being 3 truck loads. Took all day going through it and found new with tags 2009 NASCAR caps and T shirts. They are only dusty. Just looking around to see the worth or all 11 of them. They are all different. So cool.
Another great video. I love that you talked about how to clean several hats at once in the washing machine rather than just a few in a tub of Oxyclean. You’re the first I’ve seen on RUclips to do that. I’m surprised you don’t sort out the red hats and clean them together. Of be worried that one red hat might bleed it’s dye and ruin the whole load.
Great info! I have tried several ways to clean hats, but your method sounds more comprehensive. I really appreciate this and am glad RUclips directed your video over to me. I'm now subscribed! Thanks!
I found your channel as I searched for selling hats on ebay. One of my goals for 2024 is to get my hats listed. I mostly sell plush, books, and hard goods, but have dabbled in hats. I have several bins of hats that I have been putting off listing. I like your bulk cleaning method. I am going to do that, but on a smaller scale. I already have several of the hat shaper plastic forms that I got off of Amazon. Thanks for the information.
Hey Guys glad RUclips suggested your vid. I was wondering if you have ever tried using the Dishwasher? That what I use and find that it works Amazing! It seems to not disturb the form as much as the Washer does. You may not be able to wash as many as washer but you can still wash quite a few at once. Plus the better the shape the more money you get. Good luck with the channel and Ebay!
I am thankful for your advice! I dabble in selling hats and really like to. I was interested to learn you take all remaining foam out of the old hats with loss of foam.
I've been timid on cleaning hats and normally sell it for less and disclose for buyer to clean. I will try this! Thank you for sharing the information.
Finally a channel I can did. I too am a hat seller. I have been selling hats for most of my life. what I use is perfect round balloons for shaping. You can get a 100 pack for a buck and the hats have never come out better. We are about to change our youtube handle and when we do, I think we should do something...
Hey Brother, I followed play instructions and sent you an email. This is the first time I stumbled upon your channel and it looks like a great one that's right up my alley. Looking forward to future videos and also watching your older ones. I also hit that Bell and selected all to get notified for all of your videos
Yea I did for a while just found the bowls were the best solution fast and reusable. Not perfect shape on all hats but gets the job done. Thanks for watching!
So grateful that RUclips sent your video my way. I enjoy this kind of content. I’m new to selling on eBay and never considered hats as an option before, but now I will. Definitely going to binge watch any other videos that you have. Thanks for sharing.
First time viewer, big time hat lover and owner of many hats that need cleaning, so I really appreciate this video. Been contemplating getting one of those hat cages to use in the washing machine but I see that one is not necessary. I have a bunch of New Era brand hats with a flat bill. So I was always reluctant to put them in the wash. Definitely going to investigate if they have all the supplies needed here in Canada. Thanks for the info. I've liked and subscribed.
On my way to selling a few vintage hat, mainly International Harvester. Appreciate the info on the foam inside and how to deal with it. Keep rolling with the info and videos. Thanks again!!
was a hat collector ...still buy like i am ...but i dnt even ware em really anymore .. i do like selling hats ...one item ive never lost money on sellin on ebay ...LOL
Thanks so much! Just found your channel. Really useful info for me regarding how to clean the hats. I appreciate it very much. And thanks for the giveaway. 😊
Hey Howdy from NOLA!! I have an extensive collection of DKG/TRUKFIT/LRG Skater Clothing hats as well as RETRO COOGI and THROWBACK Rap Record Label Companies on the Gulf ... great tips that I could use when I do my Monthly cleaning session... My neighbors laugh when I got them drying ALL out on my FrontPorch..... The bowl shaper is a GAME CHANGER
I have been wanting to know how to clean my husbands hats! Lol We havee ruined so many hats by washing them in the washer. Thanks for sharing! Also I am a reseller and love new cleaning methods for clothing and shoes.🥰
Great but complicated question :). I have several what sold videos that will help, and a deep dive into some great hat brands/styles. Just starting look for the hats that sell for more than $20. Pricing just comes from knowledge on the brands and styles in demand. I am going to keep making the deep dive videos too on the good ones to look for. Thanks for watching!
Oxi does work really well, too. We do some clothing also and the grandmas is just all around all purpose the best we have found. I am thinking of doing some oxi again on the white hats I think it outperforms on white.
Excellent video! I’m wondering if you think that grandmas spot remover would work on residue that’s left from a sticker that was never taken off and sat way too long? If not, what would you do to get that off? Thanks again for all the great content!!
Great question. All depends on the value of the hat and my opinion if I think it can take a wash. A $15 dollar hat I usually take the chance. A $100 dollar hat hand/spot wash. I have messed some up before but I am working with volume and just take the loss of product over the loss of time. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
You will probably want to try the towl and steamer method. Ball up a towl and stuff it into the hat and then use a steamer to work on the wrinkles. I say towel because everyone has one but if you have something better to put in the hat that gives it the shape you want then you can use that.
Thanks for the video. Other than trucker hats, what hats do you avoid putting in the washing machine. I've found that velcro straps sometimes catch on the sides of other hats which can cause damage.
His name is dean 😀. We have Sammy too but he doesn't hang out in the garage much. They are the reason I have to quickly move the hats to our storage building they love to look at hats 🤣
How do you keep hats clean? Can I spray silicone water repellent? I do that with all my sneakers, but worried it may smell to toxic and make me sick smelling it all day wearing the hat. Nice video and thanks for the share.
Maybe soon. I am easy to find, but not really trying to sell my audience stuff from my store right now and the easy click traffic will greatly reduce my conversion rate. Just don't think the payoff is there yet. Thanks for watching!

Sometimes I will scrub it and wash it twice. Some hats are actually "bleached" from the sweat stains and not much saving those unless you want to try to use some fabric dye. That can be very difficult to match.

I've sold a few hats, and will look to do some more. The bowl idea when drying is exactly what I was looking for! Great idea.

Red does occasionally bleed. Most of the time if the hat is in dead stock type of condition. I am more careful with those.
Great information!! I will go to your EBay shop and check out your hats! I am thrilled with the quality of the clothing I received!!👍👍 12:38
I have never sold hats before. But you’re videos are very helpful. I will think twice before walking past a pile of hats in the future
Just like reselling anything some are better than others. Got to learn the bangers to never pass up.
Hats are like vintage t shirts that sell great also.

This video kind of blew up. GOOD FOR YOU! It's a great video. Very clear and easy to follow. Hats are one of my favorite things to sell on eBay.

You can still use the cage. It wont hurt just hard to wash 20-30 hats at one time in the cages.
Thank you I really appreciate you sharing your tricks. I will definitely be using this on my hats.

I've got a vintage trucker hat; the foam is solid but wrinkled badly, any advice?
You will probably want to try the towl and steamer method. Ball up a towl and stuff it into the hat and then use a steamer to work on the wrinkles. I say towel because everyone has one but if you have something better to put in the hat that gives it the shape you want then you can use that.

Great point. Making sure the velcro is not exposed or keeping them separate will help.

So you really get rid of the foam forever? That doesn't hurt the sales?
Forever ever :) if the foam is mostly dust better to just clean them out. Buyers will want a clean product. If the foam is still good and intact I don't clean it out.

Steam. Will probably need a steamer.
Enjoyed your video. I see hats a lot but washing them can be a real challenge. What do you do with heavy staining on the sweatband area?
Sometimes I will scrub it and wash it twice. Some hats are actually "bleached" from the sweat stains and not much saving those unless you want to try to use some fabric dye. That can be very difficult to match.
What is the model and brand of your washing machine?
