Might need to try this!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with different seed varieties.
I planted your sweet feast brassicas on 7/21/24 here in New England! I have 8 to 10 deer a day chewing them down already on a 2 acre -plot! My deer love them!
I had issues with the earth way spreader just as your describing. Really will be interested to see your video on it. Thanks, Mike C from NJ.
Thanks for the radish seeds last week…just placed another order for some brassica and peas! Excited to see what this brings. Thanks for the info sir!
We plant over 200 acres in pumpkins for a fall business.
The whitetail deer destroy the pumpkins . We have to plan for that loss every year.
I'm planting the crimson clover I purchased from you today in Northern Ny.
Thanks again
When do they start to hit your pumpkins?
As usual nothing but great info thank you
Thanks John
First off you have hands down the best brassica blend on the market. That said My experience tells me people plant too early. I have had thigh high brassica with soccer ball size turnips planted last week of July in the north east.. Looked great. Overall attraction, good. Later plantings weeks later. Little less than knee high and baseball size turnips, way way better attraction. Also the after first frost attraction philosophy, I have seen zero evidence of this being true.
You can back up the date if needed
Planted 1/2 acre this past Saturday and another 1/2 acre yesterday in southern Illinois of your brassicas. We will see.😅spayed 2 weeks ago and then fertilized and disked into the ground. Had a good seed bed on both plots. Only thing I didn’t do was use a roller. Relied on rain the same day of both plantings to get it in the ground enough. Will update here in a few weeks!
🤞🏻🤞🏻
Planted sweat feast july 28th in the upper peninsula it's not uncommon to get frost in September, I'm hoping there's enough time to mature.
Haha yeah when the radishes start to go bad they are pretty rank it’s good you warned people about that maybe don’t plant them near residential areas if you want to stay on good terms with your neighbors😂
Amazing how deer act in different areas, my deer in northern Wisconsin love brassicas and rye and don't like clover. Any suggestions on a non clover perennial?
Chicory
Planted your Sweetfeast blend On that Friday and Saturday. Got rain Monday. No rain since. 😢 good germ, but now no dam rain until Thursday maybe. Sure hope they make it.
Hopefully this week
Great video as always John. Question for next season, do you think your sweet feast brassica blend would be a good mix with oats? Or should the sweet feast be by itself?
I’ve tried oats and it didn’t work as good as I hoped. I think something like a little bit of buckwheat or a lot of peas. We did some sun hemp just because we had it at the shop things like that I think are great. You can oversee right at six or seven weeks red clover as well maybe at 4 weeks
Good morning. When preparing to till the red clover under, do you terminate it with herbicide first? TIA!
@@thomaslaughery2962nothing
Just till
Peas, red clover with the sweet feast? I found 5 lbs buckwheat reduce early deer damage.thanks for content
Red clover maybe in a month
Peas now
@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 how late in fall can you plant red clover? Property just north of Oscoda about 3 4 miles from lake.
Good morning. When preparing to till the red clover under, do you terminate it with herbicide first? TIA for the info!
No
Just till the clover
I planted two weeks ago, when should I add clover to the Sweet feast blend and at what rate? Thanks
4-6 pounds per acre
5 weeks old
Can I plant sweet greens 4 days before a rain?
Yes
Which do you recommend for Florida?
Short season
You can plant in sept
Deer love sugar beet leaves
Yes
They do . And sugar beets should be planted in May not august
Are you spraying before you till those plots? Esp if there are other weeds besides clover present?
No
Here in SW Virginia I planted the sweet feast brassicas last week on wed night before the rain from Debbie. We got 5” in about 30 hours. They germinated within 24hrs with sprouts all over. But I don’t see any rain in future. The ground underneath is still wet but I’m worried. Should I get some of your short season?
Wait and see
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 ok thanks, seeds are phenomenal and my clover with chicory is worth every penny 💪.
Northern MN big woods plots - low deer density destroy the brassicas.
Central MN heavy ag area- high deer density just munch brassicas periodically. Dont seem to eat them as much as in the big woods area.
Add soybeans at planting in ag arwa
Going to try your NWS Green Forage Blend in the central MN ag area. Was going to plant this past weekend but the area was too wet as it got 4 inches of rain last week. Hoping it dries oit so I can plant next weekend. I am nervous it's getting too late!
