    This one is actually my mom's graduation gift to me when I graduated from college back in 2014. It's a lovely watch. Until now I still use it when attending some formal events or occasions. I have now more expensive and better watch in my collection but this one will always be special to me.

      @@allthingsrandom8137 Thanks! Over the recent years I was able to purchase longines hydroconquest in a beautiful blue dial and bezel. Then recently I got a rado centrix in black and rose gold tone. 😊 then a couple of seikos and citizens. Hopefully I would be able to buy tudor and maybe when im in my mid thirties an omega. 😊

    Swiss movement, sapphire crystal and 316L stainless for under $300 is hard to beat. Tissot is hard to beat.

    This thing is a stunner. Super classy, clean, dressy. Love that big day of the week complication. This bracelet pairs excellent with it. It looks WIDE on the video…I guessed it was a 24mm! The watch head must appear bigger in my head than a 38. Great find!

    I bought a Mido Multifort black dial with steel bracelet 38mm Automatic for 288 USD from Jomashop. I think it's a better deal. But what you got is also a great deal. Also, I bought a Certina DS Podium with steel bracelet with grey dial Automatic for 249 USD from Jomashop as well.

    I have had this watch in black since about 2012 and I love it - it still keeps time better than my Chr Ward COSC.
    The only downside is the crown which has absolutely no grip, (I wish mine moved half as well as the one in the video), so hand winding is impossible but a few shakes gets it moving quickly :) Otherwise, a great watch!

    Well, I just purchased the Tissot couturier with the off-center black dials, in rose-gold. Looks reminiscent of some Lange watches. Regular price: just shy of 1000 dollars US. I bought it for 290. That's just about the most beautiful dress watch I've seen for that price range. Even 1500 US would not have been an unreasonable price. But to your question: yes, you got a great deal.

    Tengo esté reloj hace unos meses y me encanta, parece mucho más caro, el color de la esfera cambia según la luz desde blanco a gris, es elegante y casual a la vez y lo mejor que trae el movimiento powermatic 80 !! Saludos desde Chile

    Outstanding watch and at a great price but the Couturier Powermatic 80 is the best value today. I bought a Couturier Powermatic 80 with a bracelet and one black on a strap. I have a gentleman powermatic 80 Silicium which is also an excellent watch.

    I think it's beautiful. Now, Amazon is showing $379 but, as an entry level Swiss Automatic (my first) I am trying to talk myself into burning the 400 bucks. I wear a SNE031 Seiko Solar at 37mm and I was worried this Tissot, labeled at 39mm was gonna be too big, but since you sized it at 38.6 (I'm glad I finally got an accurate measurement) I think I can pull it off. I have several Seiko 5's close to the same 37mm as well. Thanks for the in depth vid.

    38mm watches with thin bezels like that will generally look big even on your wrist. It will look like a 39-40mm watch with bigger sized bezels. A Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm will look smaller because it has a smaller diameter dial with thicker bezels.

    I paid $259 with free shipping plus 6% sales tax from Joma Shop today November 16th for this exact watch except with the black dial and same ETA 2834-2 I don't like the current newer Tissot with the powematic 80 movement that is a slower beat 21600. So when go Swiss I expect a Hi beat from all my swiss watches except my Hamilton field watch. BTW I also have a Certina automatic that is a very nice hi-beat watch in the $300 range.

    At that price it is excellent with that specification, but I must say it's a little dull. The black version has those vertical lines that make it great.
    I look forward to the channel but just FYI your channels list (when browsing your main channel) is enormous so it may be hard for people to find it-would be good to configure that in advance to show your own stuff (and maybe people you like).

    I think some people are enamored by the name Swiss Made to the point of placing too much emphasis on that they were made in Switzerland. I think it's some people would buy a bag of horse manure if it said on the bag that it came from a Swiss horse. There are better or equal watches from other countries that do just as well. If I like to watch because of the brand the look of it and it happens to be Swiss made then I will get it. On the other hand if I see a watch I like and seems to work good I don't care if it's made in Afghanistan Ethiopia, I'll still get it and probably save a lot of money in the process. Particularly these days the watches made in China are exceedingly well made and simply very cheap. And yes I do have a Tissot watch in my collection. Not because it's made in Switzerland but because I like the looks and feel of it.

    • @allthingsrandom8137
      @allthingsrandom8137  2 года назад +2

      It really comes down to what you like, but there are those, to include me in the beginning who only bought “Swiss” watches. My first watch was a black Movado ceramic museum. 2 grand for a quartz watch… but I thought it was the best. Now, 12 years later, much smarter, care less about everyone else, and get what I like.

    • @crBudgetWatches
      @crBudgetWatches Год назад +1

      I agree but if you can get it for 260 usd I think it’s an easy go, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s Swiss.

      The Couturier also has the Powermatic 80. With the less dressier dial and bracelet, probably more suitable for an EDC or a one watch collection like the Gentleman. The black dial version potentially a strap monster.
