Wrong wrong wrong. You've simply ground off the top layer of corrosion and filled over it. The rust has penetrated the metal so either cut it out and wels in new metal or use a phosphoric acid based rust converter first.
im getting rust in the same area shown in this clip althought mine isnt as bad if i were to sand the rust then use the phosphoric acid like you suggested would that work long term? im trying to avoid spending thosand of dollars

I have done these repairs for quite a few of my commuters. They last about 1-12 months before rust breaks through. So I started to use these "rust killer" acids, and now they usually last about 6-24 months. It's okay to do these for yourself, if you are not selling these as fixed or rust free. I have always told what I have done when I sell the car, and explained that it won't last very long.
Most of the time that type of rust made its way out from the inside, the whole thing needs to be cut out and replaced as well as finding how the water found its way inside

I just watched a different video saying “DO NOT EVER EVER use body filler on rust”. It fact since I’m attempting to fill a rust hole by myself for the first time, I’ve watched dozens of videos - they all say the same thing. Never bondo over rust. Take it all the way down to the metal. And if that leaves you with holes, use fiberglass to repair them. I think this short cut or hack is DON’T DO THIS hack.
That'll be rusted back out in a couple of years because the rust wasn't actually removed...you've got to cut it out, treat the inside with a rust converter/encapsulator & weld in new metal...there's still rust in that panel...
You have to remove the rust that is etched into the sheet metal ... in our shop, we sometimes used acid (muriatic I believe) to remove the etched rust ... then and only then will the rust be properly removed.

That might look good but in 3 months time the rust will be back worse than before. It should have been cut back to good metal, new steel welded in, then filled, prepared and painted , not a botch job
Looks good, and it will last long enough to sell it, but it’s deception. A job worth doing is worth doing right or at least put more work in it to make it last longer. Try to grind as much rust you can with a drill bit or pointy grinding rock, knock it in some, then fill OR if your metal skills is good, cut a thin piece of metal and weld or rivet it in then fill edges.

@@NikosPer What does a rust converter have to do with anything? From my understanding once you have rust you have to start replacing panels. Slowly but surely it's coming back so it's a done over and over again. You weld on new structure but slowly but surely it's gonna come back.
@@DonaldAJr there are special nozzle sprayers that spray rust converters in all intricate nooks and crannies, after the first grinding off rusty parts - inside door panels etc. Look it up, Russians do it at least a decade.
Maybe if bodyshop labor wasn't so expensive, more ppl would take their cars in to get rusty patch panels cut out and welded on. Who wants to get a $5,000 bodyshop bill for something like this? The welding bill will cost more than what thecar is worth.
That rust was caused by water/salt retention. It starts with a little dirt and flaking rust plugging the drains. It is rusting from the inside out. If rust inhibitor is not applied along with cleaning out the dirt rust accumulation, you have fixed nothing.
Didn't cut out the hole and weld in with good metal; but even if you didn't want to go that far, no rust treatment, no zinc primer, no etch primer...... bodge it and run comes to mind
The best way to do it would be let it dry and then cover the area with diamond plate so that the stones and rock never hit the rocker panels. that’s what I did to my truck and I’m going on the 10th year with no rust

Bandaid at best. To get rust, you must remove rust. All of it. Now set it on the lot as a 1 owner, looks, runs and drive great. Don't forget to let them know the heat and air works😂😂
If your happy with it . And can’t afford to pay a body shop! To do it right.. that’s all that matters! The first time I tried putting some bondo on my old ford as a teenager .. I couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t harden up .. and why I got a small tube of this extra stuff!! Well it was the hardener! My uncle laughed his ass off ! Lesson learned lmao😅
That wont last ... you need to buff it like you did then hammer the rusted areas in to form a hollow then finre glass sheet that rusted hollow then apply filler ..sand & paint
Magnet helps to detect jobs like that especially on cars older than 2000 because they were build out of metal not like modern cars they're build up to 70% out of plastic 😢
When the metal was bare and exposed why didn’t he heat it up to remove potential moisture then spray it with a rust inhibitor then prime, sand paint etc ?
Bro, if anything, at least prime the bare metal, the bondo is just gonna fall off once the metal rusts again from the oxygen and moisture from the bondo!!
You can also go to your local paint and auto body repair store and by the paint and have put into an aerosol spray can $38 if you don’t have an air compressor and spray gun…

Should be titled temporary rust cover up. Always take a semi weak magnet with you when looking at older rust prone cars.

If there is through hole, it means metal inside needs to be protected somehow too. Outside ok but protect and weld for long lasting results

녹슨 부분을 잘라내고 다시제작해서 붙이고 용접해서 빠데바르고 갈고 다듬고 부식방청제칠하고 페인트도포하고 코팅제도포해서 열처리하면 완료 끝
