- A playthrough of Episode 2, Mission 7 of Ultimate Doom (Spawning Vats) on the Ultra-Violence difficulty for the PC. This is played through ZDoom. 100% kills, 100% items, and 100% secrets.
You have the best voice to narrate anything.
One of my favorite maps, I do like how the rooms are designed, proper textures, very atmospheric lighting and shadows, cool traps, a crate room (yes I love crates), that dark area outside that is very atmospheric, the shiny rooms with imps and more.
I couldn't find the red key, so I don't like it ^^
This map is honestly in my top 3 favs from Ultimate Doom, right underneath E4M6: Against Thee Wickedly and E3M6: Mt. Erebus. I just love the aesthetic of this one with the silver textures and the room in the beginning where you can take on all of the demons w/ the invincibility.
Your commentary is amazingly dude
This is a very very good map, structurally and aesthetically.
That's a map that rewards the players that like to explore. Nice one.
Almost 30 years after this game was released and its only today that I properly played this level. It was cut on the SNES which was the 1st version of Doom I played, and the Saturn and PSX versions were heavily altered. As I played Doom 1 to death on those machines I never really went back to it till today, when I booted it up and was confused by this unique looking level that I had never seen before.
5:10 love the way you said " shotgun guys.." :D
:D
@@BigMacDavis i am a hardcore bigmacdavis fan and very proud of it!
=)
It sounds like you're using your news anchor voice.
I swear because of Hellsing Abridged I keep seeing your voice perfect for Alucard XD
Once again Sensei Big Mac saved the day for me. I missed a few items and just got frustrated then fell down in the pit and died after 25 minutes. Argh! Thanks again Sensei and I'll see you on your live streams. Peace out! A++++
My Favourite map In Episode 2
Thank you for uploading this video
i love the Si-fi and the Hellish twist in this map
I love those Walkthroughs!
me too! im hardcore BMD fan, and proud of that!
3:26 Blind Red Tomato...
One thing you didn't point out in this map was the two long rooms that have a central stripe of flashing blue lights. Those lights act like a damaging floor when the lights flash, similar to the three long blue-light rooms in E2M2.
This video actually helped me finish this level after like minutes of trying myself, ty man
I think this was the first level they worked on and the original concept for Hanger but decided to take on the Super Mario Brothers approach and designed the first level last, which usually leads to iconic starts of the game. It was called Hanger II and they scrapped it, than turned it into this.
I thought this map was kind of tough.
Same
I just didn’t like the level design but what can i say the game is 30 yrs old i shouldn’t criticize it’s obvious flaws
@@Chuked what do you think from the jaguar & gba version of that level??
It’s so much more simplistic made😁
@@johneymute i havent played those versions yet i played it on my xbox series x
@@Chuked yeah, xbox has some nice add ons for doom. Lots of new levels
It blows my mind how overcomplicated this level actually looks, i remember how scared i was in that level, it also looks more like a laboratory,
The jaguar version is waaay more simplified, it’s less scary, easy to remember and it also looks no longer like a laboratory😁
The Jaguar version turned it into a full-on Hell structure.
Thanks man! You are helping me beat DOOM.
This is supposed to be the largest level (physically) of any Ultimate Doom map. It just doesn't seem that big to me - E2M5 and E2M6 *feel* larger, for example.
Before this guide, I was stuck fighting off spectres and imps with just my fists, I was suffering and abusing the save mechanic
You made this level look easy
You certainly may, go for it. :)
Very seldom in Doom can you stand across a hall from any monster & it never makes it's alert sound or attacks at you.
Spawning Vats is easier than some of the stages that come before it
This level looks quite different in the console versions of Doom pre-Xbox.
Yes and on all the pre xbox levels except sega it hàs a secret exit
I also checked the chainsaw Cacodemon while invisible case. I remember the invisibility bonus was usually useless, enemies could still see you but fire randomly, good for hit-scanners but not for projectile monsters since you would strafe badly onto random fireballs. Well,. in Chocolate Doom (which tries to be as faithful to the original in gameplay) the Cacodemon wakes up even if I am invisible. In Zdoom it doesn't just like in the video. Something has changed in this port.
7:41 "Right up Main Street!"
amazing walkthrough :)
I'm glad you enjoyed, my friend.
The music sounds like it would be on a Zelda game
Thank You! I was having a hard time in this level.
Wow. This level is so much different than the PlayStation version! It's like not even the same level.
Well guess what in Doom Classic Complete version The Tower Of Babel doesn't get built in the intermission screen In fact when I get the intermission screen after completeing Spawning Vats The Tower Of Babel hasn't even been built at all.
Thank you. This level had me stuck like stupid
I guess my fav level, also is the one that resembles more to the alphas.
i like it too. and the blue electrical panel / damaging floors are nice touch in this level!
1:10 Better way is to stay in the entrance and invite demons with saw and invulnerability use to tomatoes and baron just after that.

In fact when I get the intermission screen after completeing Spawning Vats The Tower Of Babel hasn't even been built at all
wow this is the 3rd level in E2 thats not in the SNES version. About to play E2 on my PC for the first time to play these 3 levels I havent played.
Awesome. The PC version is pretty cool.
+MrE399 they remastered doom 1 and 2 for 360 along with DOOM 3 and DOOM 3 Rezzurection of Evil.
its now called DOOM 3 BFG EDITION
Contains:
Doom 1
Doom 2
Doom 3
Doom 3 Rezzurection of Evil
Doom 3 Lost Missions
the BFG Edition sucks.
Tons of downgrades and casualization in D3, and they censored the versions of D1 and 2 that come with it.
Actually spawning vats is on the snes version you probably just dont recognize it in snes version it looks way different and may be smaller and has a second exit
Hey, first comment on one of your videos, they're great! Very thorough and excellent for helping me find elusive secrets. I must say though that in Doom 3 BFG Edition of Doom E2M7 the final secret bugged for me and only opened the 1st wall at the beginning, so the 2nd one is still there even though both switches we're hit at 5:00 and 8:55 😑 Not sure if it's a bug with my version of the game or a freak occurrence... I haven't bothered replaying the map EDIT: NVM, it turns out that I inexplicably didhit the switch on the wall at 5:00 where the shotgun guys were 😝
I had a bad memory with this map. I didn’t know you could save and I fell into an acid pit and died. So I quit and played episode three before coming back to restart episode two
Very interesting at the 3:27 mark, thanks to the Blur Sphere that Cacodemon never hisses or belches a lightning ball at you. Heck, he never flinched until he had the Chainsaw's blade performing Plastic Surgery on his face. I call that, "Cacodemon Rhinoplasty" from the "Invisible Plastic Surgeon". ;)
Why does it look like a staredown at 3:26?
Did you know this was the very first map that the developers made for doom
Cool piece of trivia. Thanks. :)
11:00 "maybe from scratch it would be a little bit hard" 😂
Hmm, that's not how I would have used that first invincibility, especially if playing from a plistol start.
Ghost7856 how would you use it then
Wow! Nice Waltz of the Demons to go with that. Anyway, your comments make me laugh. But anyway, you kinda pronounce "Babel" as "Bay-bel", but we pronounce it as "babble". Still, nice vid.
angeldeb82 It actually IS prononced Bay-bel not babble.
Yeah, my bad,
Just finished this map and I also like playing it, agreeing with BigMacDavis it is quite easy for being the penultimate level of episode 2. One interesting thing is how the exit area in here looks like the one in E2M2, where in both you have to press a switch to raise a bridge to finish. I believe this is the largest map in Ultimate Doom, but not in the whole Doom franchise... that may go to TNT map 21 (Administration Center), oh my! What a huge and horrible map that seems to never end LOL.
What you think about the new doom?
I wish it would make a comeback for Doom 2016 or Dark Ages
that's weird in the XBLA version the Tower Of Babel doesn't get built in the intermission screen
It took me 28 minutes and 8 seconds to complete this level
hey who still plays doom in 2021 me
Im playing on nvidia shield bfg edition for the first time
I gave up. Had no idea how to get the yellow key card so I came here lol
this got me to subscribe
Lmao, good one BigMacDavis1. ^_^
What happened to the other videos?? (RTCW and the Cinnamon Challenge?)
Hey dude, have you ever played "Brutal Doom"? Its awesome. You will love it
I would love to hear this guy narrate Brutal DooM. XD
Legend has it he still Hearting Comments copied
Dying is no bueno.
Your walkthroughs are awesome! But I wanna ask: which settings do you have? Because in my maps the 'dark areas' are way darker than in your maps and I already set the brightness and contrast higher🤔
have you tryd bratal doom
Yes. But I like the original.
the original never gets old were u from
United States.
my favorite maps of episode 2 are E2M4 and E2M7
2 things:
1: This is the first time i've ever known a game to requir 2 switches for a secret.
2: It would suck to fall off at the end with the exit after doing the entire walkthrough.
I have to ask, if you had fallen off at the end, what would be your reaction BigMacDavis1?
Yeah there's going to be alot of demons because you're playing it on I guess nightmare mode.
this is ultra violence. same amount of enemies though... but they are not insanely fast
and respawning.
episode two, is literally fucking hell I'm tryna beat the game again on ultra violence and ughghgg
I’m doing the same thing, it ain’t that hard.
@@aviationlba747 it’s harder than my cock on a Tuesday afternoon buddy
thank you god bless LMAO
I hate the part where you can't get up the side
thx
This is my least favorite Doom-series map of all time. Hated it.
I've been playing doom for 24 year. I still can't make it through this fucking level.
@@themightythor1160 You're probably not very good at the game then
Really? Even on ultra violence, it ain’t that hard.
@@aviationlba747 Difficulty alone does not determine whether a level is enjoyable or not. By that rationale, a level that consisted of a simple, open, flat plane, one zombie, unlimited power-ups, and a big arrow pointing to the level-end switch would be a great level because it would be easy; I would disagree.
@@endeckerBM Fair enough, but I think this map is pretty well designed compared to some maps in the latter two episodes.
