Ordered mine before the video was over. I always had this problem. Thanks Vince for the fix!
Noice Vince, enlightening the viewers, supporting local , & helping the little guy to further improve the solution and amend the instructions. Winning every which way. Keep doin what u do. Best tool review u tube channel on the interwebby 💯
Thanks Steve we appreciate that! 👍🏻
Now that I know Neat tool is small business I am willing to support them by browsing and purchasing their products, TY VCG.
Very nice review! I like the fact that you did not edit out your frustrations with getting the pins to seat properly.
I’m willing to bet, that Milwaukee will incorporate a design change like this in the next GEN tool chest.
Glad to see the honesty about struggle getting it in.
I found this just in time for Black Friday. This issue was holding me back from buying the 3 piece combo. Thanks Vince!
Does anyone know why Milwaukee hasn't addressed this as of yet? It's been a complaint of myself and others for 2 years and for as innovative as Milwaukee tends to be, I'm surprised this has gone overlooked. Thanks for sharing an aftermarket fix!
I appreciate you putting on small businesses! Thanks for your service!
Go Vince!
I got my Spring Loaded Pins from Jake-of-All a couple years ago.
Great feature!
Thanks fir the feedback Redd, we appreciate it! Jake is a good guy and makes awesome stuff! 👍🏻
Love seeing small companies innovate
I agree! 👍🏻
Placing an order as of right now! I have a Packout rolling toolbox and this has been a problem for me since day one of carrying it in the back of my pickup truck. I've been wanting to install a Tonneau cover, but I would not have enough clearance. I've considered removing the handle, cutting off a few inches, and then screwing it back in place. The problem with this, of course, is that I would then have less leverage when the handle is fully extended to roll around a fully loaded toolbox. This quick release thing is a great solution! And yes, like Vince, I'm also a firm believer in supporting small family owned businesses, especially when they offer products or services that make my life easier.
I saw those on ETSY and wondered if they were as good as I had read thanks for reviewing them Vince. Looks like I will place an order for them soon. Btw you and Clint are killing me with your ribbing each other.
Thanks Ron appreciate that! I’m sure TRZ will be getting me back real soon!
Thanks to JakeOfAll I found an earlier version that works similar but these are nicer. I have a tonneau cover and want to carry liquids in the rolling case so laying down was a no-go option
I saw a video last year on these pins. When I got my Packout last spring I ordered the snap pins immediately. I use the pins weekly to remove the handle and leave the handle in the truck box. I usually line up the red boxes along the back tailgate for easy access during work hours.
Spot on Vice - NICE SOLUTION and video. Rock-on
Thanks for the heads up on the NEAT TOOLS Tip. Keep it up VCG.👍😉
Thanks for Sharing our Packout Handle Quick Release Kit!
It’s a great solution in our opinion
I bought a set of these pins (from amazon not neat tools) and it bent the first day I had it attached. I pulled my stack up one step that was a decorative rock type and it bent the pin. I wouldn't recommend this setup but instead drill a hole near the top of the box through the plastic and handle itself and slide a wire lock pin through it. I have used this for a couple years with no regrets. I thought this was a good idea though so I tried it.
Glad you showed these. Keep doing these type of videos! Appreciate it. And if you’re glad as I am that Vince showed this video then smash the like button.
Thanks LLama we appreciate that! 👍🏻
Keep up the great Videos, Reviews and Deals for the Gang!👍🧰👍😍
Thanks for showing the difficulty with replacing the handle.
Love your energy and efforts for the small business guy.
Thanks Joe!
thank you for testing/showing this.
Thanks Jason! 👍🏻
Love it. Thanks for the tip. Big ups
Got mine last week...... Love em..
Seems great. Mark the handles with a marker or some tape so you know how deep to drop it in and your off and running.
Good thinking, imma do that! Thanks!
Aaaallso great idea, MAYBE, possibly weld, drill, epoxy tabs while it's installed before you do anything to the box.
Love your videos, VCG
Hey I just ordered some this morning, thanks for the tutorial
Awesome, let us know how you like them once you get them! Thanks!
Thanks Vince, looks like a nice product. I don't have a need for them everything fits in my E250 very well.
Thanks Rick, we appreciate it! No problem fitting in my truck either but the #VeryCoolGang kept asking! 👍🏻
Thank you! I love this!
I have a tonneau cover and I’ve had to put the rolling box in the cab. This definitely provides a solution.
Another youtuber showed his way of making it removable with tractor lynch pins... I drilled several different holes to adjust the handle extended for different stacks of packout.
Just put my pins in. Works great! Super easy to install. 🍻👍🇺🇸
Great video Vince
Hope your still able to get to your job sites with the flooding dilemma in philly. Stay safe out there.
We appreciate that Dominic! 👍🏻
Subtle... very subtle... nice work with that rag ;) 💡👊👏👏👏
Great solution for handle issues, and great review as always. I wish Milwaukee would upgrade their cheap0 wheels. My Packout is less than a year old, and has a flat spot on one tire; air-up tire options would be nice. Cheers from Texas.
Thanks Rick, we appreciate it! 👍🏻
I second that suggestion. I have the same issue
I ordered 2 sets of the pins after the video.. can’t wait to put them to use..
Cool idea 💡
I fabricated a locking clamp to hold a 4ft step latter to my Ridgid stack. I am surprised Milwaukee has not done something like that.
Milwaukee surprises me a lot as well Stephen!
Do you have a photo?
Yeah that's neat definitely will try to remember these if I ever get that box.
Thanks Cuz! 👍🏻
I came over to say hi and show support for this video, but seen the same shirt that I have donated to orphans (along with peanut butter 🥜) being used as a rag. What kind of monster are you 😢
Dang, who rated me out TRZ?
You guys are acting as little girls. Dejense de chismes y boberias son adultos ya.
@@fernandocf1234 no tomes la vida tan enserio compa solo porque tu vida es una mierda bo le tienes que cagar el palo a todos
Is a funny monster i love it vcg rules
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRZ AND VCG YOU GUYS ARE SO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are your thoughts on the 3/8 Ridgid impact wrench? Ridgid Ron
Great mod! Gonna get one. Pretty sure that handle convinced some knuckleheads to pop the back of my rental while I was taking a nap. They bolted and I kept my tools but I’m not taking any more chances.
Getting ready order this right now thanks.
Come back and share your experience here please!
Knowing is half the battle. Great loking into buying this, and the system.
Good to know. Thank you ! 👍
Thank you! 👍🏻
Great video!
How about using a drill jig to make the holes/threads perfectly aligned and this way the pin should click with ease?
Thanks for sharing. Buying this product now!!
Great Solution
Lol I liked that you showed the frustration in fixing the frustrating problem
I have the 3 piece packout set. Is there a security system that enables you to lock them up all together?
I got the Toughbuilt XXL widemouth rolling bag. I don't have to worry about my handle being too tall.
Would widening the holes in the handles a bit help with getting the pins to lock?
That's cool to know. Thanks
Thanks Jenny!
LOVE THAT TOOL BOX TO MAKE POWER BOX WITH
Possible fix for wheels which break, great storage system!
I recently purchased the Milwaukee Packout Rolling Tool Box. So far so good, no issues or complaints. I like the build quality and the fact that the design was very well thought out, I can store a LOT of tools safely and securely, but most importantly in a very neat and organized way. I have added packout boxes to extend the collection. The one big problem I did notice before I bought the box that a lot of buyers have complained that the wheels are the Achilles Heel of the system and can break and fail on the inner wheel hub. The issue seems to stem from the fact that the portion of the inner hub which has a tendency to break has no reinforcement to hold it rigid, there are no wheel spokes or ribs on the inner hub, and hence it is the weakest spot on the wheel. After looking at pictures of the wheels which have broken for other buyers I decided to make a modification to try to strengthen the wheel hub at its weak point. I bought 2 hose clamps, the bands on these hose clamps are 1/2 an inch wide and the inner hub is only 1/4 inch wide so it is too narrow to fit the hose clamp (by the way, the diameter of the wheel hub is 1 1/2 inches). I fixed this issue of the inner wheel hub being too narrow for the 1/2 inch wide hose clamp band by cutting the plastic ribbing on each inner wheel hub back a 1/4 inch on the inner wheel hub with a utility knife and smoothing it out flush with the rest of the inner wheel hub, which gives you a flush flat surface on the inner wheel hub which now is 1/2 an inch wide, which is wide enough to fit the hose clamp on it. You then get two 1/2 inch washers and put one on each side of the axle of the tool box, this washer is to provide enough room that the screw portion of the hose clamp (which protrudes slightly wider than the band of the hose clamp) does not hit or rub on the side of the toolbox as the wheel turns. Tighten the hose clamps as tight as they will go on the inner wheel hubs, make sure you haven't forgotten to add the 1/2 inch washer to each wheel and then reassemble the wheels to the axle using the lock nut that came stock from the factory. It's takes maybe 30 minutes to do all this work but this hose clamp should provide the strength and rigidity that the stock wheel does not have on the inner wheel hub. Hope the pictures help explain what I did. Good luck!
what pictures you talking about willis?
Did not know you can post pictures here.
Got a photo?
Great solution to a problem I don't have. I have a van and I stack my Packouts to the ceiling. However I would definitely buy them if I had a pickup truck.
@vcgconstruction hey can you load that up with some weight and see if it holds up? Wondering if it's going too be as sturdy
It was loaded up with circ saw, hole hog, super sawzall and batteries! I’ll give it some time and see how they hold up! 👍🏻
Good product placement with the rag! Nice video definetly getting me a set since my packout stays in a mustang 😂
Having a Tonneau Cover, I'm still using the Husky Connect 26" Rolling Tool boxes with the horizontal retractable handle. Wish Milwaukee would make something similar.
If I works for ya, keep using it! 👍🏻
@Daniel Herweyer Oh! Thank you so much for sharing. I'll certainly look into this.
I bought these pins. Once you have them dialed in they work perfect every time. Super fast and easy
*_Great to hear!_*
Dope video. Tool zone shade was too funny. I hope yall actually like eachother and this is all for show. Both chanels are DOPE!
Picked up a box of them rags you got there, I seen this guy from Ohio that wears them as shirts, sheesh. 😆😆😆😂😂🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
I wipe my muddy boots with those same old rags...same logo. then I don't bother washing, I just lost them
Your information is good
I'm a long time fan and I respect Milwaukee but after seeing this and the many issues with the wheels I'm glad I'm a dewalt guy, quick release handle and super tough wheels. Hopefully they will come out with an updated base
From my experience the dewalt latches are junk and the boxes themselves aren’t as durable. The plastic is pretty flimsy. This is what I had issue with their 1.0 and earlier boxes. The 2.0 might be better but I’m already invested as I got my first packout for Xmas 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. Few issues but nothing what I had with dewalt solutions.
Great video Vince
Thanks we appreciate it! 👍🏻
I like people who are looking for solutions.
Totally agree!
Nice good little invention 👍
We think so! 👍🏻
Maybe, leave the screws in. While they're set in, drill a hole 1 inch above the screw, opposed to drilling out and damaging the original hole. In doing so, the hole will match precisely and less wiggling is needed
plastic is already formed for a screw though
So it is better you drill out the hole cleanly with maybe the same size drill bit or something so that it’s a clean hole instead of the screw hole??
Why would I create unnecessary holes? Then there’s gonna be 2 holes at the bottom for no reason. I don’t get why it would make a difference if the holes are already made. Your just buffering them out.
@@howiseeit5326one reason would that when these pins break (a common complaint) you can put it back together the same way you got it.
Very well👍have a great day
I widened the holes on the handle so the pins find the holes without having to wiggle, awesome
Excellent
Is the bottom of the rolling bin packout compatible?
It looks like it may help to enlarge the holes in the handle as well so that the pins more easily snap into place without having to wiggle them so much.
I did that to mine.
What about instead of a bigger hole, a horizontal slit the thickness of the the hole. would be easier to align
Hey Vince where can I get me ones of those rags to clean my truck
I did this with different index pins. With a file make the hole in handle more of a slot toward the wheels. The problem is the handle at the bottom will flex a bit when pushing down.
Installing those quick release pins seems more hassle than what they’re worth…..I think I’ll just buy a cargo van instead and ride around with 15 rolling packouts with all the handles fully extended ! LOL
What a professional. How he just clicked that mouse at 2:15. Without even stopping. Streamline. VERY COOL 😎
I know a bunch of guys that in no way would want to mess with that wiggle crap including myself there are different pins to use another guy does extremely well done video for the packout system
My biggest issue is with the handle release button never wanting to lock or unlock. Any solutions to this problem?
How about a link in the description to their website?
Off topic question I hope you can help answer from your good friend’s at Milwaukee
Why haven’t they made a smaller more affordable concrete vibrator for small and medium jobs like concrete steps??
AND
Just to let them know I’ve tried the 14 inch concrete cut off saw and have to say no to purchase. Heavy and unbalanced although powerful enough just not workable with concrete cuts
Thank you guys keep up great work!!!
Fernando
That fist slam at 7:00..... priceless
🤣🤣 I was frustrated!
Jake of all on RUclips has links in his videos for all kinds of awesome packout accessories and gadgets
My alternative would be to get a different cover for my truck. I don't have time for a quick release pin that will only work a handfull of times.
Hum wearing orange, Vince you moonlighting at home depot?
Now that is cool idea.
I park at gas station have to watch my truck make sure my pack out doesn't get taken out.
Thanks
Thank you Jason! 👍🏻
I would redesign my handle with one of those extend+climb ladders..🤔
Is there a link to these?
Videos are excellent. When you were getting a little frustrated and the speed up happened it shows real life and it was really funny
🤣👍🏻
i just ordered the rolling tote because I couldnt get a modular storage unit under my tonneau cover. Wish i would have seen this first. The rolling tote costs almost as much as the three piece set.
Hahahaha! I love the rag bit!
Try at da great solution for I have a truck with toneau cover and have to lay the bottom packout down !
Or go with the FLEX line. Looks just like some of the packout but has solved a lot of the complaints we have including price.
Maybe a little silicone spray on the handle would help things out too? Great channel!!
Thanks Richard, we appreciate it! 👍🏻
Donde puedo conseguirlo soy de argentina, todavia no llegan esas cosas acá
5:03 Dirty Rag, 😂, where you get those “rags” from…cuz they look good quality AND THEY HUGE too 😉😆
Me and the Mrs were donating time at the local soup kitchen we were giving those rags away with every bowl of soup! 🤣
can you plz. give us a link to the products you're reviewing thanks
I have those at work. Never thought of that application. Your other option is buy the new Packout bottom
Have also seen a few different systems to make the handle removable with quick release “solutions”. Have used 1 other different solution, but wasn’t this easy to install; had to do a bit more work; so this does look like an easier install mod, which is similar to the second solution I’ve seen but haven’t ordered or tried myself.
Still think funny that Milwaukee didn’t think about having a quick release handle in the first place; imo, kinda an oversight “me thinks”😊
This should be a standard feature on this box, in my humble opinion!
neat pins but I do not use in transit so I am good with factory position, but I can see where it becomes an issue
I wonder if your drill bit walked a little when you drilled the holes, causing the pins to be off center from the holes in the handle..... just a thought
