Sounds like me~ I have to constantly explain to my parents and peers why I'm not interested in climbing the corporate ladder and would rather have a lot of different experiences

Dang girl! The editing on this one! You must have spent lots of time on it! Having been friend with you when you were an artist and sculptor it's crazy to see all the things you have added to your repertoire! I hope you will continue seeking new things to keep life interesting!

Thank you!! ❤️ It did take me a while 🤪 I can't even believe all the stuff I've done in the last decade! Excited to see what opportunities America has in store :3
We'll have to get artsy next time we meet up, maybe make some of those funny whackadoodle collabo-sketches like back in the day >w< (I found some of them while I was cleaning my old bedroom out the other day haha)

I'm definitely a scanner. As soon as I get good at something I'm curious about something else. Even my teachers used to say that if they gave me praise for something they feared that I'd give it up and do something else... But I'm happy being curious and that's all that counts. Thank you for the video, Cassie. 🤗

Hey Cassie! I'm also an adventure seeker who tries to do everything. Until I found you from your violin video, life has sent me messages many times this year to take the violin and learn it as soon as possible. At first, I thought that I was not at a time when I was really ready for this subject, and in the process, I even delved into hobbies that would improve me while I was growing up, such as learning Korean, skating and digital drawing. But years later, I could never buy a violin and take my first step on this adventure. I'm getting a lot of signs this year and I think I feel like the time has come when I should start. We're almost in the middle of 2022 and you haven't been seen for years. If this comment is reaching you and you are reading this, I think you have accomplished a lot in this life and I envy you. If there is a time when you feel bad, remember how far your progress, which others admire, has taken you. Thanks for the inspirations.

I feel like there has to be another category. The short term diver. And I feel like that's you. Yes you stay a short time in one area, but you dive deep and experience most of what it has to offer, before moving on to something else that's interesting. You're a very interesting person! I feel like you can be a writer and write books.
Thanks for sharing this great video with your audience!

    • @cassiecasper8560

She actually goes into that in the book! There a several sub-categories of scanners (plate-spinners, serial specialists, wanderers, ect.); for me the Jack-of-all-trades fit best ^^
But you're right, I do like to really sink my teeth into a subject! And thank you! Writing a book is definitely on my list of things I would like to do :D

Wow this resonate with me so much I almost cried. Really thought I was the only person. Since in my family I'm the only person who has jumped from one obsession to another, I really thought I was the only one. I have even tried to force myself to continue on with something I no longer can connect to which is novel writing. I have always had many creative and musical intrestes and I've gone into them with a lot of passion but for some reason I have to stop like piano playing, I only had access to the school piano and once I left I couldn't afford nor had the space for to buy a full size one. But still now at 26 I'm literally currently trying to figure out what I'm going to do next. I have worked in industries I hated but stayed for money, now I'm going to have to do it again at least for a washout while. I've been looking to leave the UK and have idolised having a life in South korea but I don't have a degree in anything and not sure what I'd even get a degree in to be honest. But anyway thabk you for showing the book I didn't know such gold exists! And thank you for showing me I'm not alone.

This Video brought tear in to my eyes. Thank you, I had the same insecure and excuses to start violin classes, considering I am 31, I live in an apartment and so on and it's something I wanted to try since a child and had the same situation as yours. I feel inspired, I just send an email to this violin tutor I know and I will start by next week, thank you and thank you for sharing the book.

Interesting video, also....what a coincidence. About hours ago, i contemplated a lot what kind of job will suits me bc i always interested in many things, until i dont even know what the spesific routines i will do it in 24/7. I get bored easily. I thought, if someday i find the right job or position that let me to explore random ideation (lets say in an office), i refuse to even get promoted.
Then i came accross to this video! I’m soo glad, you pointed it out. It’s okay to have a different interests and keep switching to another interest. Well-written, well-said.

This reminds me of a quote I came across by Yvon Chouinard, the founder of the brand Patagonia, "I've always thought of myself as an 80 percenter. I like to throw myself passionately into a sport or activity until I reach about an 80 percent proficiency level. To go beyond that requires an obsession that doesn't appeal to me. Once I reach 80 percent level I like to go off and do something totally different."
I was beating myself up yesterday for not being a "diver," so coming across your video unexpectedly is really uplifting. Thanks for this!

I can deeply relate to the scanner's profile. I collect a ton of interests and I try to connect all of them, so they make sense. But I think that life would be a lot easier if I only had two or three passions.

I like to try but al the same time I always have the thought that now could be a profesional on something but here I am, wondering throgh life.

Thanks for the video. Sounds like me sort of except I think you're more intelligent.
Also I found a different reason for not going into management. They would pay you 20 percent more and expect twice as many hours. I think there can be a pressure from leadership to turn everyone below them into divers because it fits their business model and they don't know how to deal with unpredictable people. I think another name I have for scanners is free spirits. Its more fun to be a free spirit but I think there can be some sort of pressure in society to resist or marginalize that. Maybe that's just paranoia but whatever forces may or may not be there against it I hope you don't change.
I played violin for about 2-3 years and got ok at it and lately have switched to piano. For years I was a guitar player but got a bit bored with that. I was experienced in music but didnt start violin until my 60s and heard I couldn't expect to get very good but I got better than I thought, so I think you're not being unreasonable to try at your much younger age, but of course the time and effort you put into it will have an effect on how good you get.
