The '74 GTO was a Pontiac Ventura with the Trans Am rear facing hood scoop as well as dual exhausts. It had a 350 engine. It should have had a 400 as an option.

You have it backwards. The original AC was far superior to that crappy Vintage-Air R-134a freon. Did you forget it originally came with freezing R-12 refrigerant?
