I had GERD, I got rid of it by doing a full elimination diet, no flour, no vegetable oils (especially canola oil), no artificial sweeteners or molasses, and no citrus. Sugar and fat is kept to a minimum and everything I eat is organic.

My two biggest triggers are Tomatos and oats. I used to eat overnight oats or hot oats for breakfast, and I would end up feeling so sick. It took me longer than I'd like to admit that that was an issue for me. Sometimes it's just trial and error to see what works for you.

The one symptom that I have and which is recurring is the sensation of a lump in my throat + the excessive mucus/phlegm. The other symptoms aren’t that common for me. I was on medication for a slight lung infection then got cured. Then I, one day ate grapes & it felt like I went to war with my throat! I have to cut down on so much food, I’ve stopped drinking all carbonated drinks, stopped eating a lot of fruits cause they’re acidic, I’m Asian and love spicy food, can’t eat them now, can’t drink tea/coffee. I’m currently on a diet. I have gerd and sinusitis, it’s so much hell.

Wanted to add I have gerd, ibs and diverticulitis 😒 Seems like everything I see I can't have, I could see how dealing with all of this could easily trigger an eating disorder just from fear of food. I’ve had IBS-D for about 14 years now. Really sucks and it’s gotten worse every year. It’s made me pretty sad. But that pales in comparison to how GERD has affected my life. I’ve been more depressed from having GERD for the last year, than I ever have in 14 years of IBS-D.

My favourite tea is done from Anethum graveolens(dill). It should be poured by boiled water and after boiled 3-5min. Using kitchen range. It is really good for meteorism I struggle with and this way help my acid reflux. Furthermore, it is super tasty and flavorful.
Another tasty tea option is tea from dog-rose (sweet brier). It is really good for driving with food. Supertasty. Really common tea in Ukraine.
    Highly recommend

My GERD has began to effect my lungs, causing bronchitis and leaving spots in my lungs that my doctor thought was emphysema which scared me to death. Went in today for another chest Xray and they determined my lungs are just inflamed, not emphysmatic. Switched to a bland diet today, starting with chicken, wild rice and broccoli, going to try that for 2 meals a day for a few days and see if that helps in addition to the medication my Dr gave me to clear out my lungs. It's helpful to see what works for others. Giving up coffee for a week may kill me, but I'm gonna try and see if it helps then slowly add it back if I absolutely need to.

my instagram! @zucchini.who - and for eating out, it totally depends on your triggers. but i would say try to enjoy it as much as you can! avoiding triggers before hand and while you’re out, but just trying your best to stay in the moment and enjoy the outing ❤️ i LOVE going out to dinner and saying no to going out due to symptoms made me super sad, which actually made my symptoms worse! when i went out i would try to go earlier than later and not over do the alcohol. i hope this helps xo

@@nicolecugini3443 yes I went to the doctor and the do a pressing on the area where the stomach is and if you are in discomfort due to the press it's an ulcer. It was so bad at first to be vomitting so much and I'm a wife and a mom, it kinda had me feeling down cause I didn't feel like myself.

I believe all those nachos (w/lime), bagel, pasta is processed food and shouldnt be in your diet. When having a GERD+acid crisis pesto, can be a bomb (lots of garlic and cheese). I recently read that when having GERD is usually for sure that we have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), and legumes and nuts do not help, plus they have lots of antinutrients such as lectins.
