Hey Arno thanks for the kind words! Yes it is like a Melvin sound on the top manual. I think I used 888000000, no chorus, 2nd percussion on slow and loud. It makes for quite a cutting tone on the nord c2d which i dig... :)
I think you've hit on the diff between the American stuff and the UK variety -- although Tubby Hayes' outfits never had that problem. I'm not a big Mullen fancier -- but with Auger and Kokomo he used to floor me every time I saw him -- but in this straight-ahead guise he lacks the humor, affable, breezy ease of the American players he is inspired by.
I am so impressed ! Great performance !
Beautiful!
Beautiful Jim!
Wonderful playing dear Jim! wishing you all the best from Germany,

Just Friends, Fascinating Rhythm.
Smokin’ and he played the sailor lick! A Horace Silver fav :)
Faaantastic!
Amazing sound!!!
My first introduction to Jim Mullen was when he played with Brian Auger in the Oblivion Express.
Bravo, great trio Jim!
The so-lyrical solos of Jim Mullen. I no not the names of all his "excerpts" but I counted at least ten.
Jeez. The longest ever drum solo!
That Nord sounds almost like a B3, nicely played too!
cheers casbont!
cooking!¬
Very nice.
A lot of good drumming.
Hey Andrew, great playin! Love it, makes me think of the old Melvin Rhyne organ settings, What is it exactly , if you dont mind me asking?

Is Jim Mullen still alive ? Man he's so good
yes as far as I'm aware, Jim is still alive. i saw him in september 2018 playing with Citrus Sun @ Ronnie Scotts, He's still magic!
So good indeed. A regular these days at the B3 Lounge, Bohemia, N12 9QH
It sounds like a drum solo from start to finish. No pocket.
I agree !
