Thank you Jack and your team, your videos are the best and most "tradworthy" I have seen. My father was an old builder who started back in the 50's & you remind me of him ie: straight up, professional, no bull & know your trade (VERY rare these days). The weep holes are something new to me, as I was taught the basic bedding and pointing with 3:1 cement. I live south of Sydney & hope to use your services in the near future.
Would have been good to show how you made the weep holes. Maybe in a future video. Anyway the demo is much appreciated! Thank you. The music is a bit loud, maybe turn it down by half.
Really good video, thanks. I have roof with a little water coming in the ridge (UK). I was wondering if re-pointing helps or does it just prevent water running out? Then I found your video with weep holes. I want these. How did you make them? poke through after, or put a dowel in the mortar and pull it out?
Storyteller230, although these terracotta tiles don't need weep holes because of their design, weep holes MUST be installed on other profiles tiles as per Australian Standards. 28 years in construction and still ignoring the Standards... This is a requirement, not a fashion.
It is not just a tile that has been cut short-- It is a POOR Roofing crews and lazy install. If the roof WAS Sqaure beforehand--maybe but they stairstepped the tiles because the rows were not evenly space.on the failed batten lay. Secondly they last row at the top near the ridge had multiplied their errors by perhaps a foot over the run, These roofs should have venting at the ridge in most areas and a better cap type. Bedding is a problem created by poor mixes and too low a slope, and too narrow a covering.
That intro was magnificent.

Now here is a craftsman. Excellent repair with all the technical explanations. Consider removing or lowering the volume of the background music
Well done! I know many home builders and renovators will find this useful

Useful information in the video but once you start talking you should turn off the music - it just gets in the way.

the weep holes sound like a good idea but i wonder if all the holes are actually open. I assume you just poked a pen sized object through.
How much price cost

Well thought out technical explanation but the instrumental music in the background is too obtrusive and virtually overwhelms your dialogue.
