That means there would be no phone to give away, if he wouldn't destroy it anyways. The "you could give it away" logic is just flawed since it makes no sense and wouldn't work in the long run.

Got extremely lucky is all, it fell in such a way that it didn't damage any vital component is what happened, use it for a few weeks and tell me that it still works and that it doesn't make you want to drop it until it does break.
