@Nic0 TV the impulsive impact damage was absorbed by the blue joycon, so it literally broke to pieces. If the switch screen or back fell on the ground, it might’ve broken.

After all these years...
This literally made my heart skip a beat, but also boosted my trust in the console. I remember my launch switch got knocked off of a table, and the fan went crazy and died the next week. Then this switch drops 1,000 feet, and only breaks a joy con. I must just have bad luck

Note that one of the joycons broke, and those are $50.
While I’m surprised that the switch still turned on after dropping it from 1000 feet, the only reason I think it hadn’t had completely shattered was because all the power when hitting the floor was absorbed into the blue joycon, meaning that the blue joycon took almost all the damage. If it didn’t land on a joycon then I think it would have just broke and left plastic everywhere.

No, the blue joycon doesn't weight more than other parts. It was totally flat when it touched the ground, look closer. The luck part is that the screen was sky side not ground side. That's what saved it but still its just incredible.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure the blue joycon cushioned the fall and got completely atomized upon impact
Joycon drift is caused by dirt that gets under the gum below the analog. It causes the sensor to put input. Just lift the gum and clean in it all or spray with air
Replace the analog amazon has the replacement dirt cheap and just RUclips the replacement video
My switch light had drift less then 24 hours of use

Edit: Btw my switch doesn't actually have any scratches and it was just a joke. I have a glass screen protector and that protects it but I don't have any scratches anyway.
