Hey Darryl I’m following along your whole series and it’s the most helpful I’ve found yet on diy building!! Quick question: where did you get your build plans / architecture drawings? Did it come with a material list, cuts, etc?
Hey Holden! Thank you for watching the whole series. I hope it helps you on your journey. I designed the plans myself. The software I used did show a list of materials but I ended up doing my own research and making my own material choices. An experienced framer did help me figure out how to cut the rafters. Hope that helps 🙏👍
I saw a guy using grip clamps when overlapping the joists before nailing them together, and using a palm nailer for tight spots, but as with everything, there are many ways to get to the same destination
One of the biggest things I’ve found in this process is there is always 2 or 3 ways to do things. You’ll try some techniques out and realize that they’re aren’t for you but others will be great. 🙏👍
Below the sistered joists you're putting up here there are also joists in joist hangers at the mid front of the house, what are those for? (they were already there before the bracing)
@huppnfag I was going to install the joist with hangers in between the beams throughout the entire house but I changed my mind after the bracing video. Basically, sistering the joist was less time consuming for me and also raised the floor giving us a better of the hills. Awesome question. 👍

I have been wanting to come back to SanAntonio since I was in Air Force basic training in 1981. This might be the reason I finally come back.
I appreciate that, Old Guy Hustle! What a big compliment. I’d be honored if you visited. I’ll try my best to get it ready for you soon!👍
I can’t wait to rent this bad boy out
Oh... you and wifey are going to have an incredible time! I’ll make sure of that! 👍💪🙏
