@@kingsofplaystation5032 the story behind the moonlight sonata is that Beethoven was going deaf and considering suicide… he overcame it though which you can hear in other pieces, but the great sorrow he felt as a musician and person with a passion that was stripped away from him must have felt horrible. Can’t throw the classics in here, you never get tired of the classics, they shaped everything moving forward and stand the rest of time even hundreds of years past their inception
I’m not tired of them, but some pieces are definitely overplayed in comparison to other pieces. These ones come to mind: - Für Elise - Canon in D - Clair de Lune - Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 - Moonlight Sonata (just not the second movement…) - Fantaisie-Impromptu - Liebestraum No. 3 (probably one of my favorite piano pieces even though it’s played so much) - Rondo Alla Turca - Piano Sonata K545 - Toccata and Fugue in D minor - Prelude in C Major by J.S. Bach
@@samarthkapuria They are amazing and I still love many of them! However, I would disagree that these pieces are simply better. I also think La Campanella isn’t that good (the violin version is pretty cool though!). Here are pieces that I think are also really amazing that are around the same difficulty as some of the pieces on that list: - Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 1 - Chopin Nocturne Op. 72 No. 1 - Literally every single Chopin nocturne! His mazurkas, waltzes, and polonaises are good too! - Chopin Polonaise in G Minor - Brahms Intermezzo No. 2 in A Major (pretty popular though) - Chopin Waltz in C-Sharp Minor - Debussy La Cathédrale Engloutie (The Sunken Cathedral) - All of Liszt’s Consolations - All of Bach’s Well Tempered Klavier - Bach’s Goldberg Variations - Many of Bach’s beginner preludes are also great - Some of Prokofiev’s Sonatas (I think the style isn’t for everyone though) The popular pieces are amazing, but there are also so many other gorgeous and stunning pieces out there that are (in my opinion) sometimes even better! Piano concertos are also great, but a lot of them seem really difficult. Personally a huge fan of Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto! 😄
