Okay smart alec, Mr. Wise Guy, going and naming all the songs you weren't supposed to know the name of - if you're so knowledgably knowedgable, tell me why Joe died of Ligma.
Austrian here. The Blue Danube Waltz (where I live we just call it the "Donauwalzer") is something that everyone knows. If you go to a formal ball, you can expect this to be played at least once and every New year's Eve, it's played in the radio across the whole country at midnight and everyone dances the waltz to it. It's always special knowing that almost the whole nation is dancing and united by the same song at the same time (Which is why we also call it the "Neujahrswalzer" which means "New Year's Waltz")
For us in Perú (and all of Latam lol), it's Tiempo De Vals by Chayanne. He's incredibly popular here, so at fancy events (specially quinceañeros, which are 15th bday parties) it's common to play that song and dance waltz to it.
As a piano freak I knew all the names myself. Hard to believe people don't know the names for some of them like Claire de Lune, Flight of the Bumblebee or The Entertainer at least.
I just made myself chuckle at this because I commented the above while it was at Debussy's Clair de Lune and thought to myself "What next? Danse Macabre..?"
Claire de Lune is one song that always sticks out to me because it was one of my mom's favorites before she went nuts. I like playing it since the beginning is fairly easy to learn
Fun fact: Blue Danube also used in Tom and Jerry in the episode where Tom plays a piano in the room that attract people including Jerry who was dancing along with the music. Blue Danube apparently can be heard in any SpongeBob SquarePants Episodes later on.
I knew 3 of them: Debussy's Clair de Lune, Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1 (love that one), and Chopin's Nocturne. Most of that knowledge came from video games though (Clair de Lune is in Danganronpa V3 and Gymnopedie No. 1 is in Mother 3)
I knew Flight of the Bumblebee and Toccata and Fugue in D minor. Clair de Lune I was embarrassed to have not been able to name. I think I recognized about 8-10 of the remaining 17 with no idea of the name.
Clair De Lune is not in danganronpa, you were think of Kaede's execution it is actually Der Flowaltzer, it says so in the execution name. It doesn't even sound remotely like it to me.
I know theses songs too and by the way there is also Clair de Lune in a horror game called The Evil Within, they made a absolutly stunning version that i recomend to check, it s also an important track in the game that you can hear many time
I’ve been searching for the name of the first song on this list for 8 months. I cannot thank you enough. I remember the great disappointment of four weeks ago when I was re-watching Stranger Things and I heard it playing on the background of one of the episodes. Unfortunately, no matter how many google searches I tried, this song wouldn’t come up. But you, you have released me from this prison, and for that, I am thankful.
Chopin Nocturne always makes me feel like I'm in a luxury penthouse with very high ceilings, in front of a grand piano just relaxing with champagne overlooking a city or a landscape
Im not sure about people not knowing flight of the bumblebee or William tell overture those are both classics without being ‘this one persons 57th symphony in g flat’. But the only reason I knew Zarathustra was bc my marching band had it as a short stands tune.
I know William tell overture because I heard it a while ago and recognised it, its the tune of these adverts that were on a few years ago for an electrician company (I think) called checkatrade
I literally only knew half of these, and for the ones that I didn't know, I mean like, I literally never heard of the piece itself, let alone the name. Bruh why do I even play piano at this point-
You don't have to even be interested in Classical to know half of these. Everyone here should know at least Boccherini's Minuet, Claire de Lune and Entertainer
As a Dutch person who goes to the theme Park “Efteling” I obviously know 11. Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns. Because in the attraction “Spookslot” this songs plays there and with the setup there, the song really sounds beautiful and it fits perfectly with the attraction.
I didn't recognize it at all from the first two section but the third section I recognized from Jonathan Creek. I should have listened all the way through before looking at the answer!
This was fun. I remembered almost all of the composer names, but remembered less than half names of the pieces themselves. It's been way too long since I've played this stuff. I believe my trailer's in need of a nice MIDI piano... Too small for a real piano, and electric pianos have been close enough for the last couple of decades.
Also Sprach Zarathustra is NOT by Wagner, it's by Richard Strauss. Which leads directly into my next point. You have to elaborate further when using a piece by Strauss. We start at Johann Strauss the Father, then on to his three children Johann Strauss the Son, Josef Strauss, and Eduard Strauss. my mom used to play this to me and my brother when we were little and when i started playing the piano i promised myself that i wouldn’t quit before i learned that but here i am lmao
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 is my favorite song of all time, and the main reason I got inspired to finally try to learn how to play piano is so that someday, when I'm old, I'll be able to play it in its entirety. Too bad it's apparently considered one of the hardest classical songs to play on solo piano.
I recognized Flight of the Bumblebee, Toccata and Fugue, Entertainer, Russian Dance, William Tell Overture, Blue Danube Waltz, Morning Mood, and Also sprach Zarathustra. The only one I already knew the name of was Flight of the Bumblebee

The first one made me remember that one moment years back... I was young when that happened, I was sitting by a laptop at the corridor, crying while waiting for my sisters to come back, my mom was sleeping, I had no idea what to do... I just kept listening to that song... Absolute nostalgia. Absolute. (Remembering this made me cry...)
I know that feeling, when you hear some sound or tune and you just have this sudden memory? One of the songs here did that to me, too. And that's a sort of sad memory. I feel like saying "sorry about that." ( I don't know why, or what for... ) 🙂💚
this song plays when walking down a staircase near the Great Hall in hogwarts legacy, I recognised it from a show my dad watched with me and my brother when we were younger called Zzzap. it played in a sketch in it all the time
There are so many classic piano tracks that we all remember, yet don't know the name. I have this video saved to a "nostalgic" playlist, I love being able to go through it every now and then and rediscover something I remember. Music can have lots of nostalgia value.
some people, ik it's very much surprising for you but that's just how it is, things obvious for you may not be that obvious for others 👍 a nice thing to remember tbh
You're right, my mistake! I think I messed it up because Also sprach Zarathustra was inspired by Nietzsche's novel of the same name, and Nietzsche used to be friends with Wagner.

I feel like saying "sorry about that."
( I don't know why, or what for... )
🙂💚
this song plays when walking down a staircase near the Great Hall in hogwarts legacy, I recognised it from a show my dad watched with me and my brother when we were younger called Zzzap. it played in a sketch in it all the time
There are so many classic piano tracks that we all remember, yet don't know the name. I have this video saved to a "nostalgic" playlist, I love being able to go through it every now and then and rediscover something I remember. Music can have lots of nostalgia value.
could never forget clair de lune ❤️❤️❤️
tbh flight of the bumblebee is much better imo 😫
@@oouuoo5370 it’s not a bad song i’m just not one for more energetic things
1:08 sounded like something straight out of cuphead.
my first love’s favorite song was claire de lune… i’ll never forget that song
i'm going crazy if 2:06 is not universally known as the dracula song
I knew the name of all but #17. Both of my parents were musicians and I heard lots of classical music and took piano lessons for several years.
Bumblebee, gymnopedie and nocturne are a classic piece of piano, hard to believe there is someone didn’t know the name of these piece, entertainer too

I know this song cuz Ultrakill level (same level name as song name)
Chopin- Nocturne in E-flat Major, will remain one of my all time favourite classical masterpieces. It is so calming 😊
4:47 - Us thomas fans should all agree, *Its the Jet Engine theme.*
Agreed, that’s how I remembered it.
@@Vibri197agreed
aclaire de lune also appears in THE EVIL WITHIN. the music in the save areas. it's slightly out of tune but you can hear it
And in ULTRAKILL (which is a good game that you need to check out)
Am I the only one who thought John Williams, Home Alone Theme at 4:33 ? 😂

I either knew the name of the song or have never heard the song in my life
5 is just so calming to listen to
Here’s the time thing btw 1:29
As a classically trained musician, I practically knew the names of every piece in this video.
Nice channel, you got some talent!
Probably because half of them don't even HAVE names just numbers or descriptions
you can still hame them tho
When you think you know the piece but get the name wrong: …..
0:40 when you're being tortured trying to climb a mountain with a ladder while this banger is in the background
0:38 YES! TYSM!!!!
1:43 is that one song from work at a pizza place iykyk
Imma take a wild guess to this age old comment (I haven't played in years) the oven thingy?
EXACTLY
I recognised just 14 of them and i'm embarassed i thought i knew classical music better
to be fair some were pretty obscure ones.
@@cleenash6 But they're still one of the most famous ones so it's shame to not know them
@@waidi3242 not really a shame
0:22 if you play it at 2x speed it sounds like a bumblebee 🐝

This actually just makes me realize how crazy difficult piano is.
Some of these weren’t made for the piano- that’s why we have a MIDI noise
How could you write Wagner ? It was Richard Strauss !
You're right, my mistake! I think I messed it up because Also sprach Zarathustra was inspired by Nietzsche's novel of the same name, and Nietzsche used to be friends with Wagner.
@@PianoMan333 True, he admired him until he realised that Wagner was going too far.
me on the second one:
*BUMBLEBEE*
[mom walks in]
WHERE
WHO DOESN’T KNOW CLAIR DE LUNE???!!! It’s so beautiful…
It’s overrated and overplayed imo.
0:30 where is Rimsky? He is Rimsky-Korsakov, not just Korsakov 👺
6:54: Also sprach Zarathustra is by Richard Strauss, not Wagner.
2001:odissea nello spazio?
@@stefaniadavid5227 Si.
everyone : this is too complicated
Lostwave community : hold my beer
2:10 bro just blue lobstered us
6:03 I’m not the only one who associates this with an Eagle from Little Einsteins right?
0:12 why is the E note everywhere?
Great video! Wasn't it Richard Strauss, though, that wrote "Also Sprach Zarathustra"?
3:37 this song is actually named "La follia"
I can’t be the only one who can’t keep a completely straight face when I see the name Debussy
Hmm, seems that I know the names of all these pieces already...
