Here's what's so great about Jeff. He raced for over 20 years against so many different drivers in so many different cars. He had to adjust so much from when he first started to when he finished. Thank you Jeff for all your memories #GOAT
If Evernham would have stayed with him Jeff would be the undisputed 2nd best of all time maybe even the best depending on how much you value the King's 200 wins.
I love seeing the highlights of the old rainbow car and all those wins in the 90's, brings me back to childhood. I had posters of that car all over my room when I was kid.
The 2011 Advocare 500 is my favorite Jeff Gordon race win. It was his first win after my Grandfather, a Jeff Gordon fan, passed away, & his wife of 62 years was watching that race along with me.
I had to listen to it on the radio at work because it was rain delayed and run on Monday. Incredible battle with the 48. I thought Jeff was toast, but he fought hard and held him off.
If he's not the GOAT he has one of the greatest accomplishments in my mind that has everhappened in a cup car . 4 consecutive Southern 500s winning it once is a accomplishment in its own but 4 in a row may never be done again.
Man this brings back memories. Two of my best buddies were NASCAR fans as well. One a major Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan the other a huge Dale Jarrett fan and I was all for Gordon. We'd get together to watch the race on Sundays and have a blast. Good times.
I was at the Martinsville race. That was by far the greatest day of my life. Pit and garage passes. Standing feet away from drivers at introductions and even as they neared the firing of the engines. Then watching the best retaliation when Kenseth wrecked Logano. and to top it off Jeff wins his final race at his best track. Good luck to Chase Elliot. we know he will succeed in nascar because he is an Elliot. #24Ever
LEGEND_3_24 umm he would be in the top five but he isn't the greats I mean you know there is Richard Petty Dale Sr. And Jimmy Johnson who recently got his seventh championship win so yeah
So happy you included the 2007 UAW Ford 500 at Talladega. That was when he won while using my favorite paint scheme. Kinda wish he kept those awesome ghost flames!
Thank you jeff for the awesome memories. you will be missed terribly by all of nascar and us fans. #24ever Thank you Jeff for all the memories you will be missed #24ever
This was my vote to be his greatest win. Without a doubt the toughest track on the circuit. At the end of that race Jeff didn't have the best car but talent, balls and determination put him in victory lane and only the 2nd driver to claim the million dollars.
I was there that day as well, having flown clear across the country from Rhode Island to go to Phoenix and Vegas the following week.As a huge Gordon fan I can't tell you what that win meant to me,I was sitting in the grandstands in turns 1 and 2 when he stopped and got out of the car.I still have the local newspaper with that picture on the front page.#24ever!!!!
Same! I watched that race and was at the edge my seat the whole time. Easily one of the most entertaining finishes. Those two did an amazing job keeping their cars from wrecking. It just goes to show that these kids nowadays don't know what real racing is anymore because they either wuss out and come for tires or they wreck.
Can’t remember the year (it was a COT race) but when he won the Darlington race with an overheating car and steam pouring out of the radiator overflow for the last thirty or so laps... that race is burned in my mind.
TV announcer just couldn't help himself from plugging Sunoco at that last Martinsville race. Seeing Indy speedway full of fans and going nuts in 1994 was special. Even more when compared to the crowd in 2014 and today.
Man, from 1995 to 1999 he had the most dominant run in Nascar history in my opinion. He won 47 of the 161 races in those five years. That's over 25 percent of the races. He had 104 top 5's and 119 top 10's. He led 9,607 out of the 46,855 he completed. He also scored 28 poles with an average start of 7.02 and an average finish of 9.44 over those five years, with three championships, almost four in a row from 1995 to 1998. His teammates Texas Terry Labonte beat him out in 1996 with a little better consistency that year which says a lot about the year he had that year. He also was running at the finish of 142 of those races with 120 lead lap finishes. The five years after weren't that bad either. He won 67 out of 339 race from 1995 to 2004. He had 177 top 5's and 230 top 10's and 50 poles. He led 16,217 of 98,130 laps he completed. His average start was 8.76 and average finish was 10.95. He also added his fourth championship in 2001. He was running at the finish of 304 of those races with 249 lead lap finishes. Dude is a legend.
Well while everyone bitches about Kyle Busch being the champion, I'll be a more sensible human being. Thank you Jeff Gordon for all the great years, all the amazing moments, but it is going to be so weird going to Martinsville next year and not having him their in the car. As for my favorite Gordon moment, Jeff's win at Indy last year. His 90th, true championship form, and tied Michael Schumacher as the only driver to have 5 wins in any racing series at Indy. Also, I got to see Gordon win at Martinsville twice in 2013, and just a few weeks ago. #24ever
2014 was his year. I've come to accept the Chase format, but 2014 was the 2nd time he dominated a season from start to finish and had nothing to show for it thanks to the Chase format.
NASCAR has never been the same without Jeff GOAT Gordon =( I stopped watching as much since he’s been gone, its so sad. He was such a monster at racing.

I think you should add the Homestead win in 2012. That was Gordon's first win at the track and that win makes Gordon win at every track except Kentucky(It became a Sprint Cup Series track in 2011).
Top rookie classes of all time: 1. 1979 (Dale Earnhardt and Terry Labonte) 2. 1993 (Jeff Gordon and Bobby Labonte) 3. 2000 (Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt, Jr) 4. 2002 (Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman) 5. 1982 (Geoff Bodine and Mark Martin) Honorable Mentions: 2014, 2004, 2006, 1994, 2001
First two wins were at the Coke 600 and the Brickyard. The first of 93 wins. It's was a pleasure to watch him race. Too bad I didn't get into NASCAR until '98, but I still got to see him completely dominate that year, and see him catch another championship in '01. As much as I'm a fan of other drivers in the field, I don't think I'll find a driver I'm a bigger fan of than Gordon.
I know his career was nowhere near as stellar as Jeff's but the legacy of the 93 rookie class across NASCAR is undeniable. could you do top 10 Bobby Labonte moments? some examples could be the photo finish at Atlanta with Dale Sr. the INCREDIBLE final laps battle with Dale Jr at Pocono (probably the most exciting gentleman racing I've ever seen). winning atlanta while terry won the title. his only short track win at Martinsville. his Talladega win in 2007
I actually been think of doing this for Terry Labonte since he retired just last year but I could do this for Bobby since he probably won't win another race again unless he is lucky
From restrictor plate to road coarse he proved he could win anywhere. But my favorite was the 97 southern 500. Mainly he didn't have the best car at the end of that race. But talent, balls and determination showed up at the end.
Still think they should have brought back the rainbow car for Jeff's final race in the 24 car.
I would have preferred the DuPont flames car.
How about a recreation of the most dominant car he ever drove, T-Rex?
Absolutely! I miss that old car, brings back so many memories of my childhood.
Kyle W I do to I was a big Jeff Gordon fan

rhett alred I’m sure if he didn’t have that back injury from slamming into that crazy wall he would still be racing.
And he never had another good crew chief after Evernham. But yeah the back injury pretty much dried him up.
@@christenn32 Alan is pretty good but he's no Ray. If he still had Ray and there was no such thing as the Chase, he would have 7 or 8 championships
Jakob Wedel Would have at least 6 of there was no chase, he was leading points at least twice before the chase reset if I recall correctly.
@@toyotaecw he was leading i believe 07 by over 500 point and ther other by like 300 i think
Gordon could of retired at the end of 1999 and still could of been considered one of the GOATs

my girlfriend and I have watched this on repeat the past several days. There’s just something about Jeff and the way he races. I feel it in my soul.
My uncle Donnie loved NASCAR his favorite was Jeff Gordon. My uncle died last year for stage 4 terminal lung cancer. He will not be forgotten
