Here's my 2nd video of 2023. And this one was an idea that spawned rather spontaneously when all those "When the Free Bird Solo kicks in" edits started blowing up recently and apparently, no one has thought of doing this type of edit. But now I have.

I know that you won't agree with me when I say this but I have to say it:
NASCAR didn't "Die with Earnhardt" but it is GOING to Die if they don't wake up and realize why these narratives are so prevalent across the internet and do what is right.
For me these were the glory days of nascar, I won't watch it now. But I love watching these old clips, freebird solo is perfect
Dude it didn't die instantly but when Dale Earnhardt passed on NASCAR started dying too.
The kind of racing done here is not possible anymore.
The points are convoluted bullshit. I can't even tell you how it works.
The cars are bs too.
No room for innovation or real expertise in engineering and mechanics to set a TEAM apart.
May as well draw cars out of a hat every qualifying morning.
I'll tell you this, I never watched another race after Dale died. Nascar didn't die but it's fandom did.
NASCAR died to me when Dale did. That's for sure. No one was or will be more exciting and controversial without being a douchebag like all the "bad boys" after him.
His last win was his most impressive. We miss you, Dale!
❤️❤️❤️ yeswe do😔😔😔
18th to 1st in six laps was damn impressive. BUT if Skinner and Junior hadn't killed the bottom lane, or Herman had realized he was with his teammate, things probably would've been different.
I just got my Dale Earnhardt lamp working for the first time in 5 years. Then this pops up on my RUclips
Yes we do!
@@trev3971if my aunt had balls she would have been my uncle
I miss the old gen 4 cars. The way they bounced around on the track, the sound of them. I still watch and enjoy today but man, I did not know how lucky I was to grow up watching those cars go at it!
Bruh exactly yessss yes 100×
i stopped watching when they started doing Stage racing at Bristol of all places.
It made sense at tracks like Daytona and Tally, where they wanted to keep all the cars 'bunched up' for the Fans.... but common.. Bristol?.. you can barely fit all 42 cars ON that track... there's never a moment one isn't near another...
Add to that someone being able to go the entire 'championship' without winning a single race, except for the final one, then being crowned the "champion"?... yea... there's no reason to continue watching it these days.
So true
Dude you're spot on. It was a magical time.
Dale’s final win was his greatest achievement. From 18th all the way to first with six laps to go is unheard of. He was a legend that made nascar must see TV. Rest in peace Dale, you’re a Free Bird now. ❤
Life needs more Free Bird solos.
And free birds we shall have once we overthrow our corrupt government and any political figures running this country to the ground.
NASCAR drivers are built differently. They have zero fear to push a car in front going 200mph. One hair off the right place is life over and these guys are giving it all. Huge respect.
Back in 70s to 2009 were the best drivers coming up n now we have rich n money drivers who rather save fuel then give us fans a show
Truth@@MRNASCARFAN25
@@MRNASCARFAN25 Not for long hopefully, im doing whatever it takes to get in with them, I am very close, when I get there I will show these money bags how to really drive.
That's wild to say when f1 and rally exists
@MRNASCARFAN25 you need money to race. That's just a sad fact. It's always been that way.
No other driver could maneuver in the draft like Earnhardt. 18th to 1st in 4 laps. There wasn't anything that he couldn't do in a racecar. I'll never forget the " man in black " he was the greatest!!
Jeff gordon ? I can even say KB OR BRAD K
Nope. Nobody like that black 3. Gordon isn’t even close. I’d take Micheal Waltrip and junior at talledega or Daytona before Jeff.
@@puttervids472 Gordon and Earnhardt were in the back of the pack and finished 1st and 4th, respectively.. Both drivers know how to handle the beast (pre-restrictor plates)
Yeah and then his son opted to just fold like a cheap beach tent because he didn't want his deadbeat daddy running off again if he pushed Skinner, and 40 IQ Kenny Wallace was too stupid to know his own teammate was behind him and instead of going for the win, decided that he would have his best accomplishment in his life be to push Godhardt to victory.
@@djmohab2 rusty Wallace fan ? 🤣
I could never get my head around this roundy roundy racing having only watched it on TV. However in the late 90s I found myself working in sight of the Texas Motor Speedway and thought I'd watch some practice one (somewhat extended) lunchtime. Couldn't believe the speed and noise. It's much more of a spectacle up close. It's like chess with cars. You don't even need the best car, just the best tacticians. Freebird is just the icing on the cake.😊
Exactly. It's like baseball. Awful on TV if you don't know what you're seeing, but surprisingly a good time in person.
I learned a little over 20 years ago that I wasn’t a NASCAR FAN, I was just a Dale Earnhardt fan.
As somebody who went to MANY dirt oval races growing up, this is something you have to see in person to truly appreciate
I got a little emotional watching dale pass his son. What a moment in this man's life.
Hey Richard I see my son oh its over now see ya son !
I will say this...
He was living LIFE!
Can you imagine him driving in the middle of that pack. That cockpit view he had. Just the battle going on. And a shit eatin grin on his face. Being in the ZONE and just taking it all. That is a hell of a life there. Love it
Bro hell yeahhh
This is what I've always loved about superspeedway racing in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
It was literally anybody's race to lose.
Thousands of left hand turns?
It still is
Yes, before the days of the restrictor plate.
@@fmagalhaes1521 these are the days of the restrictor plate.. these cars have been running with them ever since bobby allison’s wreck at dega…
No risk and no reward.
Back when racing was racing and everyone wanted to be Dale!
23 years ago today we lost Dale, RIP may we never forget Dale.
still stunned. its been so long but it seems like last week sometimes...
I hope I'm not the only one who got misty eyed watching this. RAISE HELL PRAISE DALE!!
Same it also bring tears cause shows how big nascar was hit peak 06
That man could drive the wheels off anything with wheels any given day! Miss him out there. He’d teach this young guys a thing or two in todays nascar
God, I miss Dale, but you know what, he lives on in our heart's and he will always live on as THE #3! #RAISEHELLPRAISEDALE
I don't typically watch NASCAR but that gets a hell yeah from me brother, goosebumps on my arms and a smile on my face the whole time, that's some good driving
I've never been big into nascar but wow what a sprint to the finish. 5 wide at 200mph barely clinging to grip, passing ****AND PUSHING**** the cars around and in front of you. Nuts. Nuts.
I was at this race and I still get chills watching this. Freebird was icing on the cake
Dale Jr: "Damn I lost the lead!"
Dale Sr: "Hold on.....daddy's coming"
Jr started blocking what a moment for them
Still get excited to this day watching Dale move through the field and leave us with the memory of such an amazing last win!!! Love ya Dale and thank you for soooo many great memories and enjoyable Sundays!!
this is quite possibly the most American thing i have ever seen and I'm from Tennessee
10,000% SKILL. Dale was THE MAN and will ALWAYS be THE MAN. We miss you Dale but we will NEVER forget you. We know you're doing just fine where you are at and we will see you soon.
I can't fathom the fear a man had to feel in his heart upon seeing the number three in his rear view mirror.
Daytona 2001 was the last race I watched start to finish, it was just never the same after. Legends never die…
4:02 - My favourite part of the solo and in the perfect line with the shot of a madman owning every goddamn one on the track.
It's the part of the solo when everygodamn thing has kicked in the right way and you're on your way to glory. When i Cruise with my Monte Carlo 86 SS, the throttle get's pushed hard when this part comes in.
God dont need a dam he can walk on water
2:28 pretty bad ass
There are no words to properly express myself other than I WAS THERE!!!!!!
As a kid born in 04, I’ve never had the opportunity to see the angel in black in action, he’s always kinda been like a mystical racing hero and same goes for the F1 driver Ayrton Senna. These videos have genuinely helped me understand how much of a phenomenon Dale was.
Raise hell praise Dale !
There's another time his windshield was dirty and he's hanging out of the car halfway cleaning the dirt off under the yellow flag.

Absolute masterpiece! I keep coming back to this, and now I just wanna say THANK YOU for this incredible video.
Yea ive watched it a few times too and showed it to a friend lol
You needed nerves of steel to race in the era of this video, and Earnhardt was the most gutsy of them all. I remember watching this race with dad at home on the TV; #3 was his favorite and he was literally jumping up and down with excitement and screaming at the screen. Great memories.
The half rubbed off 3 on the side ! Classic senior 🏁👍🏁
He wasn't going to be denied that race
Goosebumps every time I see this. Especially when he says Earnhardt is scraped and beaten on the right side but he will not be denied! Incredible!
Fun fact about Dale, despite winning at dega 10 times, he hated superspeedway racing, it was said he could see the air flow around other cats and that's why he was so successful on these tracks
Cars*
That is an interesting thing about Earnhardt.
But that's just proof that you find yourself succeeding in things that you really don't like to do
@@MotorsportsFan17 yes it is
He didn't hate Superspeedway racing, he hated when pack racing started.
@@slimbrady6691 I think he said it like that because Plates were first standardized on the superspeedways like Dega and Daytona. But yeah, Earnhardt hated plate racing because it caused the congestion of pack racing due to the power being capped, and forced him and all the other drivers to dink and dunk at 190mph with no room.
The way the crowd would erupt when Earnhardt or later Jr, would take the lead was always amazing at the super speedways! Miss those days.
When they did anything, moving up, great pass. Doesn't matter. If they did something that moved them forward the stands would come alive.
Freaking awesome video! Helped me get my morning started. Thank you.
Damm, was bouncing in my chair playin my best air guitar. That was awesome, THANK YOU!!
I miss Dale Earnhardt more than any other sports icon. As a kid, he was my sports hero. This video brought back a flood of memories! I wish every time I watch a NASCAR video now, that he was still here.
I'm a Dale Earnhardt fan until the grave.
I was a fan at 5 Ill never forget finding out the news that day after working that afternoon. Him and Senna were the 2 best drivers ever
He was my hero as well..only person i ever wanted to be!! Dale was a legend!! Dale was Nascar!!
Man, I got serious chills when they went into turn 1 four wide at 1:46 and seeing Earnhardt motioning to the driver behind to give him a speed bump at 2:54. Bumping and grinding at 200 mph! Look & listen to the crowd cheering for Dale. This takes me back to my teen years. These truly were the golden years of NASCAR. RIP Earnhardt. Ty for posting!
Yep, when the solo hits, it hits hard. Goosebumps until the end. NC boys gettin it done!!
What a time to be alive and watch this back in the day racing was a whole different experience.
Never will be another like him.He was a class act..
This race was just INSANE the good old days when Pontiac was still there
Love them Pontiacs!
Yeah thanks for making me cry at work

No matter how many times I've watched these laps, I still don't know how he did it.
Pure talent n not giving a damn about team orders he was always on offense but 1 time he played defesne it costed him his life
All the emotions come out watching this one!!
Real men driving real race cars!

I was at this race when I was a kid and I’ll never forget how god damn wild the crowd went when this happened. Was one of the most awesome moments I ever got the privilege to see live and in person. Dale Sr was an absolute legend in every sense of the word
This was the last nascar race i went too. I was just past the finish line. Such an awesome race.
I had goosebumps for 2 minutes. 😂 This is incredible.
This next April he was 6 months from being 50 years old. Driving 200 mile an hour and out driving. The best drivers in the world 10 to 20 years older than half the field and he still could do it. The best ever was black number three , and the best way ever will be the black number 3 Dale Earnhardt. Aka for his final win i will say was the greatest race i have ever watched an there will never be a race this great again!! I was 12 years old when I watched this race. Live with my dad praise god amen
gives me that gooseflesh , them goose bumps, doin' it for dale
the greatest human being to ever live, love you dale
Sr and Jr being side by side is something to behold
Man, this just brought treats to my eyes in 2024. PRAISE DALE!!!!! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🖤🖤🖤
Damn that was impressive. Gone way too soon, Dale. We miss you.
Bygod its enough to bring a tear to your eye. Its beautiful ❤
I loved that race, i was on my feet cheering at the top of my lungs in my livingroom. My wife at the time was going for Jeff G, she was pissed. I was hollering at Herm to keep on pushin.
NASCAR+free bird= Ultimate freedom!!!
The sounds of the Gen 4 cars were perfect for the music
@Hendrick_FAN24/7 couldn't agree with you more, I hope nascar will host a gen 4 historic race at either daytona or talladega in the near future
Just look how much grip he had and how deep he could go into the corners, basically had a huge run coming of each corner. With the risk and the experience of Dale Earnheard that must have felt like driving the best race car on the planet 🔥
That's Awesome I remember that one 💪🏼💪🏿💪💪🏾🙏🏼🙏🙏🏽🙏🏻Yes Sir Let's Go
This brings a tear to my eyes. Perfect video. RIP intimidator
I needed this today. Thank you
Alan collins on the guitar and dale at the wheel. Great combo. I was at this race. It was the best
I dont know anything about racing or nascar. But I know that was cool af.
I got a cramp on ma fooot, from holdin it wide open!
That was, and still is amazing!
To be honest I thought the sound of the crowd cheering fit well into this video
Their cheers were louder than the Cars
Which proved that Talladega really is the Earnhardt's Second Home
dale at taladega was something else
The GOAT! Gave me chills! He is greatly missed!
Raise hell Praise Dale
certified hell yeah moment
Some say that the weight of Dale's enormous steel balls allows the throttle to be pressed to the floor.
3:30 Dale jr: ¡¡TU PUEDES PAPÁ!!
Miss you Dale Earnhardt you are the best
Best damned race I ever watched! Still get excited watching it now!
Even when I knew the outcome of the video I still got goosebumps and was cheering! 🏁
Awesome mashup! This should seriously be the theme song next year for Amazon and TNT!
Made that #3 look four lanes wide at the end.
Hot dang I miss those days. Nothing better than Dale Earnhardt racing on Sunday. Great memories God speed #3
GOAT Brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye
He was one hell of a driver.
John Wayne and Dale Earnhardt aren’t gone. They’re just not here anymore.
I’m not into NASCAR. I’ve tried, and it just didnt stick for me, but that was unbelievable. Now I know why everyone loved Earnhardt.
That's Racing. Best Man won that day. Showed em how racing works.
Then Dale said "follow me" to the flag
Raise hell, praise Dale!
How man.. just how… I truly don’t understand how this is possible
This how I be racing in nascar heat 5
Why does the freebird solo fit over the entire thing so well
That’s just about the most American thing I’ve seen in a while. 😊🇺🇸
Awesome win for Senior, but how about Junior's save!!! That was a serious pucker moment!!!
This shows that Earnhardt had a lot more in him than we think today. May he rest in peace
Masterpiece video :)
I watch this video when I'm having a bad day. ☝️☝️☝️
Thank you @MotorsportsFan🙏
That was 🤬 AWESOME!!!!
GOAT. No one could drive the way he did! Haven’t watched a race since he left. 😥
That was a great job by Dale and he was an impressive drive. But in my opinion, Tony Stewart in the season finale Homestead race in 2011 for the championship was godlike driving. He got caught in a wreck early on. Caught a penalty. Was laps down but needed to win to beat Carl Edwards for the championship. I never saw driving like that before or since. He was a damn madman.
Should watch the wall ride from recent atleast, 😅
Then how do you know that no one could drive the way he did?

Absolutely loved this 👍👍
I vividly remember watching this race live. I was in my girlfriend's living room and was on my feet the last 4 laps of the race. I had to keep the shouting to a minimum because we had only been dating a few months and her 110lb Rhodesian Ridgeback had just started getting used to me being in her apartment. I had to keep glancing from the TV to the dog to make sure I didn't do anything he might see as a threat.
Best video to ring in the new year (2025), I’m gonna take it as a good sign!!! Merica 🤘😎
Bro I feel this is something that can be used in earnhardt movie or something. This is awesome
