i just got my size measured ~3-4 weeks ago and bought my first real (non sports) bra (12B AU/NZ, which is 34B US/UK), and my experience was really good (although one of the ones i tried definitely dug into my chest, so i didn't use that one, my new bra does have an underwire but doesn't dig). i was really nervous i'd just be seen as a man in a bra shop but that didn't happen :D
What’s worked for me is shopping brands made for women with smaller breasts and sizing up the band. So, based on measurements I am a 32C, but I’ll buy a 34A. I end up with a band that’s tight but doesn’t dig and looks smooth, and cups with minimal gapping. I think it’s my larger shoulder blades and upper back that are more so the culprit than my chest. The band measurement doesn’t accurately capture those areas because it’s too low, but the cup size measurement gets inflated by those areas. I think it also doesn’t help that transwomen (myself included) really want those smaller band and larger cup measurements because it’s affirming, so we’re resistant to increasing the band and decreasing the cup. But honestly, a bra that fits properly is so much more empowering than a number and a letter.
Oh yeah I ordered my first bra as a test and the band was too tight and after 1 hour I was having similar pains to previously wearing undies that were way too small for me on my lower back. Sent that back, the new one I was able to wear for a whole day! I'm still a while off from having real boobs though, I've only seen a counsellor twice but it's moving along 💚💚💚
thanks for the great advice as always, Sam! so good to see you back online. ♥ okay, warning to those wearing sports bras during exercise. I'm a long-distance runner and discovered several new places to experience chafing. I use an anti-chafing stick and apply some on the nips and along the front of the bottom support band. raw nips are not something you want.
Thank you so much for this. I have a big rib cage, so sizing is a challenge, as is limited cash. I have a bra that I like, except it pinches a nerve after half an hour. BTW, those bras look super cute.
I've been rocking sports bras for a while now as I'm def still in the itty bitty titty committee, but I get ones with thin pads bc I need coverage for my massive peaks 😂 Great seeing you, Sam, and best of luck with school 💜
I'm still in sport bra but can't believe the size I want expecting it but my Margaret says I have nice B cup I read and thought A was wrong but thanks for your info there very tender and sports bra doesn't cut it anymore God bless Jennifer Marie pre op Trans 😊 and loving like
I didn't think of that. I take it you going the f way? I don't need to know. Just curious. The face you see is my sister. We lived together most our lives and I was taking care of her. She recently passed. But yeah I'm a transgender lesbian.

Despite being a C cup, dont wear one 99% so that makes things easy. Far better for breast health. They are a hideous contraption.
