RC does bait and switch often. They advertised a price on excursion...went to pay and it was more. I had screenshots of pricing. They refused to honor. They suck.
Same thing just happened to me with the black friday sale, booked a dolphin swim in Mexico at 40% off, it would not go through, it then changed to 30% and would go through, Royal stinks with their dynamic pricing
The announcements are just annoying. Worst are the before and after pitches at the entertainment venues. There are so many ways to find events these announcements are redundant.
The person that brought the crock pot had to be a first time cruiser. There is so much food on the ship. Why in the world would you need to cook your own food! Crazy!
Hey, Jayson! I had Coco Beach Club reserved for $109. The "Black Friday" sale cut the price by 50% t0 $55. There are also great prices for specialty restaurants. Also, Royal Caribbean never wants to give you cash back. It's always chipboard credit.
I never thought the cruise Director mattered much until I was on a carnival cruise with a great cruise Director and he certainly made our trip more fun.
Cruise directors are critical to the success of any cruise. They MC, inform and are the go between between you and everything on the ship! Of course some are better than others. Some can be annoying but I always look forward to CD's that can do a good job. Not easy these days with 4 to 8 K people on board.
SCAM...We were going to book a cruise on Mariner for March 2025 sailing at a great price & it must have been before the Black Friday Sale. We waited to book with a Travel Agent (because I promised to book with him) a few days later and the price had risen by 30%!!! Then it almost tripled in price!!!! I'm so disgusted. We had promised our kids a cruise & now we won't go. Im not blowing my budget over a vacation. I learned my lesson to not wait!
It could be that the person was on vacation in the US and got a good discount on the Crock pot and had no place to store it so they took it on board. I have been Cruising for a while and I'm not bothered by announcements and love the Cruise Directors to me it's part of the package.
I don't need a cruise director. I know exactly what I want to do on board and it involves total relaxation, not rushing about doing things. I won't even be going ashore. My holiday is being on the sea........
There was an issue with the RC website. I could not book anything yesterday afternoon because of errors. By night time, I was able to book all I wanted at the price displayed.
I like an energetic Cruise Director. On my last sailing she rightly called me out for trying to leave a show 2 or 3 mins early. I was sitting in the front row and she was like sit back down. 😂😂😂
I had the issue with RC mentioned in this video, I booked chef’s table a few weeks ago, then I saw the black friday discount yesterday and cancelled the booking and couldn’t rebook until having waited overnight. I don’t believe its a scam per se. rather it is latency in their booking and billing systems that inure to the benefit of RC so there is not much incentive to fix it.
Regarding the crockpot. Perhaps the owners were on an extended trip and needed it for the land portion. They didn"t have any place to store it, so they brought it on the ship.
Yes they are but they keep you updated on cruise ,they let you know threw out day and if there is a problem they are your ears . Sometimes obnoxious but needed as we grow older
Maybe Carnival could can the CDs and towel animals to save a few bucks instead of continously screwing the passengers. The Welcome Back party on the Celebration was a whole 15 min. long including the stupid movie and had the worst tasting wine and did not even offer any appetizers.
I have been on eleven cruises on seven different lines and the ONLY cruise directors that really added value were on the Regal Princess and the Celebrity Solstice in Alaska. Are you sure that the prohibited device was not a rice cooker??
Here’s one possible reason why someone would bring a crockpot, but it’s a lame reason for sure…….but…….some people with newborn babies use their crockpots to sterilize their babies bottles. Yeah, I know, lame. But it is possible. 🤷♂
Usually I am aware of the cruise directors presence and I just kind of ignore it, I never hear the announcements anyway but my last NCL cruise in October, I actually participated in a lot of the activities led by the cruise director Margzana and had a blast. Danced one night, iced my knees for a day and repeat I felt more alive and engaged than usual. Still got off the boat at every port, LOVED our excursions but the cruise director enhanced our experience ( she has a masters degree in pediatric physical rehabilitation so that probably helped, lol)
Agree! I find that people don't quiet down when anyone gets on the mike but maybe they'd stop and listen if they knew the cruise director wasn't just getting on once again
We have been on a Few Cruises and the Director was a Little Pushy , so when We saw Them coming We would Move .Daily Cruise APP . is Fine for Us . Crock Pot is UP there with the Mini-Washer ...$$$1,500 for an OPEN Tent ON the Beach , We would rather put that to a Cruise.. Good and Fun News & Info . Thanks ...
RC in August offered onboard credits combinable with ALL offers. When I booked it showed the credit applied, but when I received my email confirmation they were not there. I am still trying to get my credits. RC Customer Service has not helped me, in fact I have been ignored and they will not respond to me. I have even emailed both Presidents. Still have heard nothing. I guess you can call that a scam too. Very dishonorable.
I love the Carnival Cruise Directors. If you don’t, cruise another line. I switched ships this past August so that I could cruise with Leon. I also like the announcements.
I have never paid any attention to who or what the cruise director is? We don't go on the cruise to be annoyed by all the announcements about things I don't care about! The excursion I booked on RC won't show me any price other than what I paid for it? @ only 5% when all excursions are now 35% off?
Maybe someone was celebrating a birthday and the crockpot was a gift? People with extreme dietary restrictions also may bring their own food, so maybe someone wanted to cook their own food using the crockpot if they couldn’t eat most of the meals. However, I could understand why cruises would be concerned about someone using a heat-generating appliance that is often left on for long periods of time.
Omg, it is so crazy. Why do people think they need a crock pot? I would not pay for a cabana. I've re-booked my drink package, but my bank it probably tired of the chances. A BIG problem with black friday sales. I seen an add for a 175 dollar on board credit if I sailed betwe November 2024 to December 2025, I call an they said no.??????
Like children, cruise directors should be seen and not heard 😄 We have the daily planner or app and can see what activities are on and when. We do not need constant announcements from the CD telling us.
A quality cruise director knows how to distil interesting information into a few minutes and do so in a personable way (same with announcements from the Bridge). So if you have a good one during your trip it can be a benefit. We’ve had some great cruise directors out of Southampton with Celebrity over the years. I also tend to think that they are overpopulating the apps with information/tasks. They aren’t always as user-friendly as you would like and it’s not actually a quicker process as a result.
Hello newbie sailor here. Wondering if I could bring my hypervolt percussion massage on Royal Caribbean. It’s for muscle relaxation for walking too much n after my planned excursions. I can’t find anything like it on the prohibited list. Does anyone know?
Ours has been on the last 10 cruises with us and no one has ever said a word, I don't foresee you having any problems with your Hypervolt, enjoy your cruise, thank you for watching.
@@JaysonJudson Thank you so much for responding to my question. I really do love and need my Hypervolt. I know that it will make for a more enjoyable experience.
I love them, I went on my first cruise sept1-7th on the carnival dream, 🚢 and we had Frankie ❤❤ he was the most AMAZING and fun and exciting director ❤🎉 BOOP
I plan my activities as I wish I do not need a CD but it doesn’t bother me either. And RCCL with their way of offering discounts and not honoring them it’s not a good business practice. That is why I hardly ever cruise with them besides the monstrous ships they have now, no thanks!
I been on carnival and that anoing ding ding ding and announcements.... everyday. that's a deal breaker for me. switched to royal. if something is important ok say it to the ship. no need to be so anoing everyday.
RC prices change from one time to the next. My sister and husband and I were all looking at prices with the same selections but we all got different prices. I dont get it. Seems very shady.
Personally, we don't need a cruise director. Never even talked to one. All the food available...WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO CARRY THAT HEAVY THING AROUND.... SMFH!! They need to honor that price. It is not the publics problem that they had a technical issue.
RCCL has done this before. I honestly believe they know what they are doing and it is a scam. A total shame especially as expensive as cruises are today vs. pre covid. And who said you can’t get all of your lost revenues back all at once? 😂
Cruise directors are the managers of entertainment, they execute the ideas and makes sure things go as planned, poor execution m re and they won’t keep there job
I agree! Most Cruise Directors are extremely annoying, obnoxious and will stare at themselves every chance the see a mirror! We don't cruise on Carnival and never will anymore. Sorry, but you asked 😊.
Crock pot story: you can't fix stupid. These are likely the same folks who want to bring their own portable washer onboard. What irks me the most is all this is address on the RC site if people would just READ. smh
RC loyalist follow CD''s. Love Mike! And " Canadian Steve". Have sailed with Mike many times, and yes, he not "in your face". Thats his thing. C. Steve loves ketchup chips, so I always try to get him some.
To me the cruise director is not a function of the announcements. He's the onboard brand ambassador who should be schmoozing in person all around the ship If I only know him based upon his being a corny host in the shows or on the PA, then he has failed Overall Royals CDs are the worst, probably the oldest on average and the least memorable even compared with Celebrity An engaged CD adds. Most Royal CDs are as interesting as boiled tofu
i think that most cruise directors enhance the cruising experience, although we had one that was just annoying hehe but they definitely dont make or break my cruise...... and the announcements i actually really like them as they remind me of things happening during the cruise, although most times i cant hear or understand what they are saying, but i do like them and i love having a printed off daily planner, i do use the app but enjoy reading the printed form :)
There was an issue with the RC website. I could not book anything yesterday afternoon because of errors. By night time, I was able to book all I wanted at the price displayed.
Cruise News: Did a ROGUE WAVE Hit This Cruise Ship? ----> ruclips.net/video/qAtUooQC7Ps/видео.html
NO!
Royal Caribbean should be legally held to those offers, it’s false advertising. Particularly with how long it’s been visible to the public.
RC does bait and switch often. They advertised a price on excursion...went to pay and it was more. I had screenshots of pricing. They refused to honor. They suck.
My personal opinion is the cruise director definitely adds to the cruise. They do a great job!
I have no use for a cruise director, BUT this person seems to be an irritant! Just enjoy your cruise and let others enjoy the cruise director.
Normally I usually side with the cruise on most things, but these black friday "errors" feel awfully scummy
Directors serve a purpose, if you want to just “ to do your thing”, then do it. But CD’s coordinate everything.
Crock pots can be used to heat up bottles of milk for your baby. We use to use them at daycares.
Same as in the US...Truth in advertising prevails in court or at mediation
That is actually an instapot pressure cooker, they just wanted to cook there own rice
The person that brought the crock pot had to be a first time cruiser. There is so much food on the ship. Why in the world would you need to cook your own food! Crazy!

That crock pot thing is hilarious! There's so much food to choose from on a cruise! And you're on vacation. Why would you be trying to cook?!😂
Many uses, including heating milk for babies, some people follow strict diets even on vacation
No announcements except for security or safety related only , I don’t care about a dollar watch sale!
I bet the crock pot was to be given to someone on the island they were stopping in.
I never thought the cruise Director mattered much until I was on a carnival cruise with a great cruise Director and he certainly made our trip more fun.
I can take it or leave a crew directors. Having said that I have been cruising for a while.
A crew director would be more beneficial to new cruisers.
Cruise directors are critical to the success of any cruise. They MC, inform and are the go between between you and everything on the ship! Of course some are better than others. Cruise directors are awesome. They make a cruise better while on deck or going ashore.
I wonder if the crockpot could have been for warming baby bottles, since there's no microwave.
It could be that the person was on vacation in the US and got a good discount on the Crock pot and had no place to store it so they took it on board. I have been Cruising for a while and I'm not bothered by announcements and love the Cruise Directors to me it's part of the package.

Yes they are but they keep you updated on cruise ,they let you know threw out day and if there is a problem they are your ears . Sometimes obnoxious but needed as we grow older
No value has ever been added for me by having a cruise director. However, I do think that for some passengers, it does add value.
Maybe Carnival could can the CDs and towel animals to save a few bucks instead of continously screwing the passengers. The Welcome Back party on the Celebration was a whole 15 min. long including the stupid movie and had the worst tasting wine and did not even offer any appetizers.
NO they do not
Judging from the domed lid that might be an InstantPot pressure cooker, not a slow cooker. Still insane.
Sue on the Constellation is worth booking for. She’s great and validates the CD role.
I have been on eleven cruises on seven different lines and the ONLY cruise directors that really added value were on the Regal Princess and the Celebrity Solstice in Alaska.
Are you sure that the prohibited device was not a rice cooker??
Some cruise directors are really annoying.

I don't care about the cruise director. I'd love to have a cruise director stay off the mike.
Agree! I find that people don't quiet down when anyone gets on the mike but maybe they'd stop and listen if they knew the cruise director wasn't just getting on once again
Especially the ones who do goofy sign offs like Leon on the Carnival Celebration.

Cruise directors won’t make or break my cruise experience. I’ve brought a steamer before but once I found out they’re not allowed I stopped.
CD add to your cruise experience if you allow them too.

Purchased Chefs Table for 30% off, lowest price I’ve ever seen!
I thought Princess was the only one who had website problems😂!

Not a big fan of the cruise director, so far. The last one on the Norwegian Gem was annoying because are hit on the 1MC too much.
Maybe someone was celebrating a birthday and the crockpot was a gift? definitely do not re book on your phone app..

No because I never met a cruise director
Everything Royal does regarding a sale is a scam
Cruise director, I haven’t interacted with one in years. Don’t they just act as an MC for the production shows?
I’ve avoided Carnival after doing 2 cruises with Dr. E. I don’t ever want to hear that voice again.
RCCL has done this before. I honestly believe they know what they are doing and it is a scam. A total shame especially as expensive as cruises are today vs. pre covid. And who said you can’t get all of your lost revenues back all at once? 😂
