buddy Vorenus and his path to becoming a man with nothing to lose was pretty tragic and brutal, especially considering how far he (and his wife) had come and how good things were going for him and his family, but the "I am a son of Hades!!" scene was one of my favorites and also great seeing Titus totally up for the task when it comes his turn to stand by his friend at his absolute lowest (honorable mentions to Marc Antony for also having his back - really love that part where Titus seeks out Antony for the assist) "No man is beyond redemption, Lucius... not even you"
You guys are so cool thank you so much for your video reactions on ROME !!!!!!!! 5:58 well.. yes but he is still consul, one of the highest ranking gov official in Rome, it would not totally be out of the ordinary to see the nobility or high ranking officials being carried in a litter at the time. 7:05 yeaaaa thats 100% cap, she is so playing politics right there lmao xD 12:47 yesss !!!! xD 16:52 it is called Poena cullei, a type of unaliving method. The punishment consisted of being sewn up in a leather sack, with an assortment of live animals including a dog, snake, monkey, and a chicken or rooster, and then being thrown into water. But yea these are thugs doing it on their victim here. 22:44 yes, he needs to be on the map, that's exactly right :D 29:47 yes but with "the people" in this instance, I think she means her crown, she couldnt pull a hair for her people, she wanted self preservation. 32:54 yea but dont forget all the animals that they would throw with u in the sack... I mean... I dont picture the snake and the rooster will calmly wait for their deaths...
@@lastword8783 Prior to the triumvirate, during Pompey's pre-eminency, Aulus Gabinius was bribed and lead 10,000 troops (and some cavalry lead by Mark Antony) into Egypt from his governorship in Syria. After Pompey got him acquitted, year later he payed back the favor with Lex Gabini which gave Pompey, Caesar and Crassus their ultimate governorships in Hispania, Gaul and Syria respectively.
The Romans had a traditional punishment, sometimes as a legal sentence but sometimes what you see here: sewing someone up in a bag with various animals, like snakes, monkeys, stray dogs, etc. Things that can mess you up. Then they'd chuck the bag in the sea, the river, whatever. That's what they were doing to those guys in the fountain. Generally, though, it was a death sentence. They didn't pull you back out. You were meant to drown while panicking and fighting whatever was in the bag with you.
Given the economic conditions and the value of the denarius, 300 sesterces in 50 BC would have been a considerable sum, likely equivalent to several months’ wages for a common laborer or soldier.
Great ! It is very interesting to see your joint detailed reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool classic movie 🦾🤖🔥 Do you have any plans to do it?
Liked your reactions as usual. I wish you would put little more of the key scenes in it. U left a few out of in here. it shows the plot to first time viewer. They have set the plot for season 2. More surprise developments will continue to really throw u. Ok guys.

Rome was superior to Egypt at the time, that is why Atia can disrespect the queen
Ya Egypt was basically occupied by the Romans since the time of Caesar

Naobi's sister's husband, Evander, is the father, not Lucius.
