Well as u see the series gets more and more interesting. The beginning scene with the head bursting opening is a reference to a Greek God who's 7 children were born from his head...sorry No ""Pu say ee"" Well Titus & LUCIOUS (Not angry husband 1), will continue to have adventures. The gold was "Sacred to the Roman" treasury. Pomperys man stole the gold for Pompey but the others decided to steal it for themselves. (Remember they stabbed the head soldier) There were 7 old familys who control all of Rome. Atita (Caesar niece) is one of these familys. "Domina" is just the title of a female who is head of a family.. In Rome the Father is in charge of the home, his wife, his children are all his property and he can kill them at his wish for any reason.

Great series once it gets cooking - loved binging this show (dont really like the acting of the wife character, but if thats the literal ONLY flaw i can point to in a show - that means it's pretty damn good)

You guys have to understand that although he's pretty cool Julius Caesar wasn't necessarily the best person. He started the Gallic wars through abuse of power and ended up getting one million Gauls killed and took another million as slaves. He also started a civil war and overthrew the republic because he was denied a second consulship and "triumph" ( basically a cool show in Rome, parading through the streets and showing off captured slaves and loot and praising the general and soldiers) as this would have probably meant the end of his political career. Very cool and interesting guy but getting over a million people killed and starting a civil war for your vanity is not that great when you think about it. On the other side it kicked off the Roman Empire as a world power which led to it becoming the 2nd biggest empire in history ( but they also went from republic to basically a dictatorship).

Brutus's ancestor was one of the first consuls of Rome and overthrew the last king of Rome. So he has to live up to the family legacy of being a founder and savior of the Republic. He has to balance the fact that Caeser is acting like a tyrant trying to overthrow the Republic with his personal affection for Caeser.

After seeing the entire series it's really interesting to see how the writers play with your perceptions of the characters from the beginning. How you perceive them with no knowledge is vastly different than on a rewatch, and a lot of the characters actions take on different meanings when you know them better.
