- Land of the Vikings is a survival colony sim game. Where you lead your village and expand it into a thriving city. A wise Jarl must manage resources, survive harsh conditions, and guide their fellow Vikings to work together through social conflict.

Land of the Vikings is a relaxing game in its early access state. For now the content is limited, but the future is bright as the current gameplay is solid, we just need more of it!
I found this video after a quick search as the game is on sale atm.

thank you for this informative review. ive had this game on my steam wishlist for months and now that i have a little bit time and about 20 euros to spend on a game, i was considering this one, but not sure about it. especially that you emphasized that its a very relaxing game made me decide to get it, because thats generally what im looking for in a city builder.

It's definitely a relaxing game, I'd just say it needs more content and a more detailed end game, but it is an early access title after all. I believe they have some more detailed building on the way which would be very cool.
More content would be awesome, but the building is fun, so with more of that I reckon you could lose yourself for hours in this game. It's also fun to support a small dev team :)

What is the goal? How do we beat the game? Doesn’t seem like its combat-focused, but a chill survival and village management game seems right up my alley.

Right now the game doesn't have much of an end game. You reach a point where you can keep expanding (if you want) and keep raiding others to try and swell your resources, but it's a bit of a loop at that point. It will be interesting to see how their roadmap develops and if they deliver on their promises. Not much of an end game right now but the gameplay is pretty solid in my opinion! A more relaxing game you would struggle to find.

The main issue I am hearing is that this space is so congested and there isn't enough reason to pick up this specific title (yet).

This sounds like a lot more micromanagement than normal, with the worker allocations
@40kNationPhilly I guess it depends on what you consider to be normal. In this game it's detailed for sure, especially when looking at an individual's skillset and therefore where they'd be best deployed.
I don't really have an interest in this game, but I enjoy your channel so I'm just gonna leave a comment and a like in support
edit: Anno 1800 has just come back to steam and is even on sale; have you considered reviewing it? I personally haven't played it, but its set in a time period I find interesting and does seem to have strategy elements.

I have very much considered reviewing Anno 1800 as I spent some time with it a few months back and think it's a great game. I wasn't sure if there would be much interest from my subscribers so it's very useful to know that it would get your vote!
I wasn't expecting it to release on Steam to be honest (I got it on the Epic Games Store) so great to see renewed interest in the game!

Does anyone know how to start a game in mobile? These "get premium" buttons will not allow me to play , and when I gave "5 stars for 1 week premium" nothing happens at all. Do I have to buy premium to be able to play?
I am waiting for Manor Lords. Everything else pales in comparison. It will set new standards.
Same, that game looks rather insane! It will be interesting to see how games such as Land of the Vikings fair once Manor Lords releases, it'll be tough for sure!

I was definitely getting some Black and White 2 vibes while player, ah the memories! Maybe they'll add in giant monsters!
great concept.......but too many bugs, VERY unbalanced. seems not polished, the UI is wonky, wood collection ONLY manually. at least the stones can be collected automatically from the stone yard.
@zerorootx True, though I guess much of this is because they are a small indie developer. It has promise for the future!
too many games like this that are basically the same. all competeting with eachother.
none my type really, doesn't mean they're bad games but cant bother to learn all the different games, when in the end they offer basically the same things
It's a congested space for sure! It's a shame really, as this is a pretty solid game with a promising future. But they'll find it tough not to be drowned out by the noise of all the other similar games. We shall see!
