      I want to know more about the K-swap Integra you were racing at willow springs. That old video of you racing Ferrari's and mustangs was really inspiring and I want to know what mounts you used.

      You can see the parts list in our swap guide here: speed.academy/k-series-honda-swap-guide-k20-k24-how-to-parts-needed-part-1/
      We used Hasport engine mounts and have continued to use them for all our kswap projects.

      guys, it is not only audio...I commented on this in past, it is basically not possible to hear you at all and at the same time all the tools are maxed out and whole family is woken up ....I actually stopped watching yours videos because of this as I have the time only in night time for it. It is sad fact tho as your vids are so great. Please try to do something with it, there is quite a few car chanels on youtube you can watch and not actually wake up everybody around 50meters with angle grinder noise in the midnight :)

  • @koltface
    @koltface 6 лет назад +16

    Lowering the subframe 1 inch is the same as lowering the car 1 inch. Yes you can easily fix the bumpsteer, no you cannot fix your now horrible camber curve.
    Also, think about offsetting the engine to the passenger side by a half inch or so. Most cars are like this from the factory and it will help the left to right balance of the car.
    Also, I LOVE THIS SWAP! Great choice and thanks for the great content!

    • @pallusubaru
      @pallusubaru 6 лет назад

      yeah, i'd lower the sub frame as "proof of concept" and get the motor mounts set, then lower the steering rack only on a new subframe mounted back at the stock hight, then correct for bumpsteer ...cool build tho

  • @wolfy9005
    @wolfy9005 6 лет назад

    Move the point where the control arm connects to the subframe up 1 inch, and you'll have no dramas. They do it in the rear of the Holden Commodores to make up for the terrible suspension geometry when lowered(even from factory it was jacked, a camber or camber/toe kit fixes static camber but it's still messed).
    Also worth reinforcing the bolt holes at the same time, given that you'll end up having to pull it out. If there is enough meat, it wouldn't hurt to go higher if it doesn't affect motor placement. Simple enough to enlarge the boxes with some 3mm plate bent up and reinforced if you want to return it to factory geometry.(not sure about 240sx subframes, so you'll have to forgive me).
    If you've already considered it, do eeeeet.

    Why no dry sump? Judging by the angle of the oil pan and valve cover it seems the engine should sit at an angle. How is that going to factor in to your hood clearance.

      They're modifying the pan so they may as well mod it around the pickup lol

    • @CharleyGeorge
      @CharleyGeorge 6 лет назад +1

      The thing is they already are using an adapter for the transmission so why not tilt it to the side. That would make more sense. It will also lower the center of gravity. The only problem they will need to make sure does not crop up is oil starvation. But that can easily be fixed by the same thing BMW did. Just grab those parts which are probably a dime a dozen.

    • @DamonBMW
      @DamonBMW 6 лет назад

      They dont NEED to do that, they turn it at exactly 12 degrees for a reason, not for fitment

    Great project! Something different for sure. I do however think 25mm spacers on the subframe will change the roll center quite a bit. The control arms are near horisontal on a stock car, so depending on your ride heigth the geometry will be way off when lowered.

    I can’t believe you are putting the engine so far in front of the wheel centerline, dry dump it and push it into the firewall for better handling, or cut the pickup off and make it a rear sump. And for god sakes stop putting yourself under the engine that is only held up by an engine hoist, I’ve seen grade 8 bolts brake and engines fall, not a good idea

  • @brianstowers2747

    I know this is an older video and the car is complete. I just have a question regarding the subframe spacers. Is there any type of fabrication that could have been removed from the equation since putting the subframe spacers on gave you so much extra room? (Cutting the subframe, modifying the oil pan, etc) or was all of that still necessary to be able to fit the motor/transmission into place?
    Best regards and a gorgeous car.
