I love how much fun you are having with this and you did such a great job. The paint brush back is a brilliant idea. My fat fingers always hit the wrong notes. You are making me want to dig mine out !!
Thanks for checking it out. The Kaossilator is an interesting beast. It modifies pitch along the horizontal axis and the vertical axis changes with the patch. On some patches it adds/removes delay on others it opens/closes the filter. On the later version (Kaossilator Pro+) you can actually edit what effect is applied to that axis but this one is fixed. Still... it find it to be an amazing sketch pad for the musical brain. So simple and so immediate.
Thanks for checking out the vid. They actually don't make this model anymore, but the new Kaossilator Pro has a lot more features. Still... I really like this one.
This is the original one, it's the KO1 which was the first released. I still use mine. There have been several incarnations since this original Kaossilator, it's now available as a phone app.
@@musicalmiscellany it was great. Nice n funky. Lately I’ve just been making ambient with my volca fm and I’m runnin it through a gecho loopsynth v2 powered by a funny Japanese portable charger I can play it at the beach or in a tree or anywhere. You can get some trippy but also very emotional sounds out of this set up
You can, but keep in mind the grid density is going to change based on the scale you choose. I've seen some folks create little layover papers that have a series of squares on them and then use a stylus to be more accurate with the notes. I've not tried that though.
The stylus I'm using is just a cheap paintbrush I got a a craft store. I'm using the back (opposite from the bristles) side. There's nothing special about this KO-1.
Perfect.Very nice and precision
Thanks for checking out the vid.
That is just the neatest thing. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching. Keep your eyes peeled cuz I'm going to have more of these coming throughout January... or is is Jamuary. Ha ha.

Ha ha. That's the idea.
Even better I just use a stylus for a Nintendo ds
Awesome! Looking forward to these.
Thanks brother. I think it will be fun.
Very cool

Great job!
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
I didn’t know you can apply a vibrato to the bass or pad 😳👌

Very jazzy
Thanks for checking it out.
How does that double bassist get that slap tone? lol
With a Kaossilator of course.
Very dope!
Thanks man. It's fun to do jazz on an instrument most people associate with techno. LOL.
Holy cow these have come a long way! I have an original one and it's nothing like this 😅

@@musicalmiscellany Thanks for sharing! Seems like a great little inspo machine! I might have to look for one!
@@praticle Search for Korg KO-1. The routinely turn up on eBay an Reverb in the $70-90 range. I like to think of it as a producer's sketchbook.
@@musicalmiscellany Hey, that ain't half bad! Thanks again 🥰

That Y connector goes from 2 RCAs to a 1 mono or stereo, jack?
Thanks for watching the video. The connector I'm using converts 2 RCA jacks to a single 1/8" stereo jack.
Can we mentally divide the kaossilator screen into pads ? Thx !
