One thing I really appreciate is how Dagon takes the book from the Dremora. I was expecting him to just snatch it from them, but he very calmly and respectfully takes it instead. It shows a level of not necessarily care but at the very least appreciation and respect for the Dremora's efforts.
Dagon is rewarding that dremora’s ambition, as is his sphere
It may also be an aspect of Mehrunes Dagon's true nature. Its suggested in lore that he is only the way he is now because Alduin cursed Dagon after he tried to stop the Dragon from devouring the souls of the living and the dead.
Maybe it’s more to do with the value of the book? People treat things with care if they’re afraid of damaging it

When Dagon went from big to human size (or closer too lol) that was Fucking dope.
The way he can manifest wherever he wants to in any size is really cool
It was the best shot in the trailer, imo.
That’s how a god should always show up to see his minions and followers.
Can he became an ant-size small? It would be a hillarious boss fight)
How can there be emotional stakes when no one ever dies? Honestly remember the tharn trailer where he ends the dragon crisis with sacrifice to save the group and you felt like you were vindicated having put up with him in the main quest. None of that here, just mortals supermanning off heights as a gotcha moment.
I agree they gotten so dumb. Even the Original trio some characters died. It’s dumb
I mean shooting wooden arrows at a Daedric God and slowly jogging right next to him because he chose to force choke someone instead of instantly killing them with his god powers is pretty damn absurd
Lets not forget that dremora dude not wasting like 5 seconds to stab good guys when they were unconscious
The cinematics don't necessarily represent what actually happens. In game, you didn't even get to see Abnur's valiant sacrifice as portrayed in the cinematics, but in the cinematics, you see very little of the battle with Kaalgrontiid, he never even gets to breathe fire. The execution with these cinematics isnt as great, but I promise if they try sneaking past Dagon in his own realm and pulling the same trick in game, it won't work.

Rule number 1 : You should confirmed kills.
You'd think Daon would be so powerful that an elf can't just run past him with a book. Guess not.
That's the thing. Every Daedric Prince cannot be taken down so easily unless a mortal has the power to match. The Hero of Kvatch faced Jyggalag 1v1 after they assumed Uncle Sheo's mantle, therefore becoming the new Sheogorath. The Vestige had to be imbued with Divine Energy to face Molag Bal. Martin Septim had to assume the Avatar of Akatosh to Banish Dagon.
So what do you do if your opponent is too powerful? Outwit them. Distract them. Daedric Princes may be powerful enough to require divine strength to beat, but even Azura with her foresight can still be tricked.
@@TheGravityShifter Not really my point. A daedric prince in his own realm is outwitted by a running elf. You'd think a near-omnipotent being could just will the elf away so it can't exist and so it couldn't touch the book but nope, just running was fine enough.
@@LN.2233 Yet Jyggalag was beat in his own realm. Molag Bal was beat in his own realm. So Dagon being outwitted in his own realm? It's easier to be outwitted than beat. Let alone in your own domain.
And they took the book from him, which was the same artifact he used to open the portal in the first place. Therefore he'd need the book to close it.
@@TheGravityShifter
No you beat Jyg as sheo in what is technically sheos realm.
You beat molag after being powered up by the 8 divines and meridia, and after meridia had just dropped a magical nuke on bal
@@the_dropbear4392 Yes, you beat Jyg as Sheo in Jyggalag's realm. Jyggalag is cursed to be Sheo, therefore one and the same person. And at the end of every era, Sheo reverts to his true form, and restores order in his realm. The cycle was broken, ending the curse, and giving Jyggalag his true form permanently again. And he gave his realm to the player as the new and standalone Prince Sheo. Whatever happened after is left to interpretation until something new comes along to give info.
As for Bal, of course, but he still got defeated in his own realm in direct combat by a divine imbued mortal. The nuke clearly did nothing to him as he was perfectly fine in the finally. Not even a Kamehameha was able to take him down in one hit. All it did was destroyed his mega form, which seems to be a recurring thing for the Princes.
TL;DR: You stated pretty much everything I already said as if you didn't read through a single thing I wrote.
Mehrunes Dagon. He can force choke someone fully invisible but fail to notice an elf and an Argonian who pressed LCtrl.
The detail in this piece of art is truly astonishing. 👏👏👏👌
Aren't Daedric princes supposed to be all-powerful in their own realms? I wanna know where these guys got that plot armour
We should've expected this when we could defeat Molag Bal in his own realm.
We're built different.
Look I feel ESO kinda does it's own thing whenever it feels like it against the lore established in main line entries. And to be honest it's set so far from the likes of Morrowind that I like to think of the stories from it as legends, changed and exaggerated over time
There isn't any clear evidence in game that they have all power in their realms, omnipotence and infinite power has never been displayed in a Daedric Prince's realm. In fact, there is quite the contrary to this shown multiple times in both the lore and the games. Consider the Khajiit story of Raijin, the Khajiiti thief god. If the story is true, then he stole Mephala's Ring of Khajiiti as well as Boethiah's Ebony Blade while in he was in Oblivion. He also stole the Oghma Infinium from Hermaeous Mora within his own realm.
Not in Elder scrolls 4 , we used to go to Mehrunes Dagons realm a lot , in order to close gates.
And if you are good in illusion and invisibility spells it´s super easy barely an inconvience
High Chancellor Ocato is unconscious.

damn that fight was one of the best i've seen in a cinematic so short but felt so real and fluid and the pacing was sexy
For real? I thought it was the opposite of fluid. It felt stiff, poorly choregraphed and impacts looked weak. The pacing was particularly bad this time around too. It's like everything was cut because they had strict time constraints to keep this whole thing 3 minutes long. The fight sequences from earlier ESO trailers were far superior, even though those had obnoxious shaky cam during action scenes. I wish I could see what you saw in this, honestly.
