Slow and steady are the best rains. Let that rain soak in. We are a fruit farm in SW Ontario. Apples peaches apricots cherries plums....... We are fortunate we were able to build a large irrigation pond. A well keeps the pond full when we are irrigating. Shallow water table here. However, 1 inch of rain will do what 3-4 inches of irrigation will do. It is so amazing what a little rain can do. AMAZING! Keep hoping and praying. It will come for you. The Pete is looking great. Nice job guys.

Thanks for another great video Welkers. It was most informative and interesting and lots to digest on the crops. Nick, heartfelt thanks to you for your detailed analysis of the crop situation!!! I thought you did a magnificent job of explaining how your soil and your area and the different crops you grow interact with the moisture they get. Praying for that help you need from up above after the years that I’ve seen you have you should have a turn at some success and relief god bless praying and just know this carpenter loves his farmers
Saskatchewan is very wet this year. To the point where most low areas are flooded. Some farmers reseeding lower areas. A week ago we got 3.5" in west central Saskatchewan and its impacted alot of areas. I'm not a farmer but I haul oil and it has been a lot of down time due to rain.
Hope your season is still on track… Watched this the other day, looking forward to updates. My step father farmed most of his life and this was a common story over the years
In west lower michigan, we are SOOOOO wet. Wish we could have let you have several inches we got but didnt need in the last 3 weeks. Dry beans planted and seeds rotted in the ground.
HeyNick, try a center drill next time drilling out rivets, small initial point that’s very rigid followed by a countersink, shaft is also really rigid, gives great control
@@WelkerFarms great! They come in different diameters as well as short and long lengths, other benefit is that they are double ended, so you get two in one center drill I learned about them working in a machine shop 47 years ago, perfect for starting holes on lathes, milling machines and drill presses as well as with hand tools Because they are so stiff you don’t get the wandering you get with a regular drill, especially small diameter ones They also work well in sheet metals and soft grabby metals like copper, brass and soft aluminums because they don’t have spiral flutes, so they don’t grab Another drill that they used to make (May still make for cnc??) are “brass drills”, straight flute drills that one could find prior to the late 70’s, they are fantastic in soft materials like brass, copper and plexiglass and came in standard drill sizes

Fortunately we have had good weather, we got to plant earlier and we have had the right mix of sun and rain... Corn for us this year and we will probably run the same again next year to help in replenishing our soil nutrients... We had three years of bad as well.. Yep, trust the Lord and He will deliver..!! Sending prayers your way..!!
its all across the US. southern Virginia corn is desperate for rain. the farmers down here are watering the tobacco fields just to get a crop. we finally have started getting rain this week from this storm in the guld but we also had no rain for about a month or so and its been 95 degrees since the end of may

Here in Central NY, we are still in the corn belt, no knee high by the 4th of July this year that I have seen. A foot high, maybe. Hay seems to be doing well. Soy beans are a few inches tall. Plenty of rain, but we are not getting nearly the snow fall we had in the past.
Southern Wisconsin here... Corn in some spots is 6' tall and most is like 3' and Soybeans are yellow as we've had over 12" of rain in the last few weeks. Winter wheat is getting close but the ground is waaay too wet.

Here in my part of Md everything is burning up with lack of rain an temps in the mid 90s. We're probably a week away from a completely failed corn an soybean crop
In southeast Saskatchewan we are not in the same boat in fact the tap hasn't turned off and we are too wet. It's been very cool and very wet our crops need some stress with some heat.
Praise god here in south east Alabama it started out in the spring extremely wet then it got really hot and dry thank god we been getting some rain every few weeks
Really feel for you out there. We're having the opposite problem in the UK. A lot of ground and crops written off due to flooding and excess rain. A lot of ground has been left undrilled as too wet, and a lot of crops have not come through where the fields have been sat under water.
I really care for you guys. You're a wonderful family and great people individually. I understand it's hard to watch it dry up. It seems like 10 years out of 12 ...or more are far below "average". So it's hope and basically only hope that keeps things moving forward. We are a resilient species. Perspective is important friend. You guys have new houses, nice vehicles, and are able to support big families. It's not going that well for a lot of us out here. This series of drought in the 30's, completely wiped out huge numbers of people. That doesn't really happen anymore. At least not on the scale it used to. It's gonna be alright, friend. The standard of living for subsequent generations of folks from Northern Montana has steadily increased over time. I know it's not fun. But it's certainly not as bad as it could be, or has been. How's the vacation property on Flathead Lake coming along?! See...? It's gonna be alright partner. Hang in there.
I hope yall get a couple of inches of slow slow rain! Y'all stay safe! Oh I live on the Texas Gulf Coast, we have a hurricane out in the Gulf! But as of right now, it does not look like it's going to be that bad here where I'm at! But it's supposed to hit Texas. Hope everybody stays safe!

God bless. Hope the season turns out excellent for you.
Keep you head held high hope you get enough rain to keep the crops happy!!!
Prayers for your family and all the other farmers. Lord’s Blessings.
Praying for that help you need from up above after the years that I’ve seen you have you should have a turn at some success and relief god bless praying and just know this carpenter loves his farmers
Awesome video . Thank you so much guys
Stay strong in faith, it (rain) will come… only a fellow farmer knows your struggles
I pray you get the rain you need so your crop can survive I really enjoy your channel god bless
Hope you guys got/get the rain you need. As hard as you work, you certainly deserve it.
Praying for your family and your crop.
HeyNick, try a center drill next time drilling out rivets, small initial point that’s very rigid followed by a countersink, shaft is also really rigid, gives great control
Need to get one of those!
@@WelkerFarms great! They come in different diameters as well as short and long lengths, other benefit is that they are double ended, so you get two in one center drill
I learned about them working in a machine shop 47 years ago, perfect for starting holes on lathes, milling machines and drill presses as well as with hand tools
Because they are so stiff you don’t get the wandering you get with a regular drill, especially small diameter ones
They also work well in sheet metals and soft grabby metals like copper, brass and soft aluminums because they don’t have spiral flutes, so they don’t grab
Another drill that they used to make (May still make for cnc??) are “brass drills”, straight flute drills that one could find prior to the late 70’s, they are fantastic in soft materials like brass, copper and plexiglass and came in standard drill sizes
Fantastic series. Watching from Australia. I read so many comments from people praying for rain and I understand that you have your beliefs. This video looks as you got your wish. Just wondering how you must feel when there is no rain and crops fail and your prayers are not answered.
We ended up with less than 1/2" total. Though we are very disappointed we continue to trust God that He'll provide what we need.
It's just a call to prayer for us, followers of the Welkers. ..my wife and daughter went through Shelby on the 12th, Amtrak, and spent 2 weeks in Libby with my brother-in-law on his ranch in the mountains.
Praying for y’all some need rain buddy. I know y’all work y’all butts off and I been there when I use to farm. In La. you don’t begged for rain to much but it happens here to!! Praying for rain for y’all and all the the farmers to have a great crop. Love watching y’all videos!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Howdy Nick, I hope ya'll are doing well,
Sorry to see your struggling to get the rain you need, and very little moisture, the good thing is lentils need to be stressed to produce a good crop, still praying ya'll get some good rains, Stay safe, God Bless
Slow and steady is far better than a downpour.
I always enjoy your videos but the format of this one was really refreshing and enjoyable to watch. Down to earth and educational, it felt like I was standing in the field with you and just chatting. Really enjoyed it
Glad to hear!
Have you planted 'deep root' crops like radish? Helps loosen soil for greater water penetration.
The problem we have faced is no penitrating rains for the last 3 yrs
Fortunately we have had good weather, we got to plant earlier and we have had the right mix of sun and rain... Corn for us this year and we will probably run the same again next year to help in replenishing our soil nutrients... We had three years of bad as well.. Yep, trust the Lord and He will deliver..!! Sending prayers your way..!!
I do pray for your farm, I know it's a struggle at times. Your an inspiration to watch, and be real on the issue's.
its all across the US. southern Virginia corn is desperate for rain. the farmers down here are watering the tobacco fields just to get a crop. we finally have started getting rain this week from this storm in the guld but we also had no rain for about a month or so and its been 95 degrees since the end of may
Hard work never goes unrewarded. Sometimes the rewards (when they come) maybe in a different form than expected.
God Bless y'all and your families.
It's after the 4th when I caught this video. Happy Birthday America 🇺🇸.
Think they have had at least three years of dry weather…
Keep goin boys! It’ll rain it’ll get better. Another day going is a good day, even if it’s a hard one.
We have fields that are planted and are completly under water right now from all the rain..Praying for ya'll that you get rain!!! Lord knows we dont need anymore of it here.
I"m happy for you seeing the rain. Another reason for an extra thanksgiving day. The crop will love it. Thanks heaven!
Bob subsoiled a field 2(3?) years ago. Did you ever get enough rain to find out if it helped your yield?
No we haven't yet. The most rain total at one rain event in three years is less than 1.2"
@@RobertWelkerFarmerBob I wanted to be a farmer. One of the biggest reasons I did not is because too much is out of your control.
I enjoy the crop updates. Please keep us updated. Looks like you had some nice rain around July 4th. I hope that will save the crops.
👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻 WE'RE all praying for the moisture to come!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The update on the truck shines a bright spear of light into the whole situation!!!
GOD BLESS THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Crazy how mother nature works, areas in Manitoba have got over 20” of rain. Most of the fields are under water. Hopefully some of that heads your way. 🌈☀️🌦️🌧️⛈️💦
Thank you for sharing Nick. I know that couldn’t be easy to share.
They predicted rain here in east Texas 25 inches so far . Then it went straight to hot temperatures. We didn't plant anything this year . Way too much rain. Hopefully we will next spring. Send you some rain .
Focus on abundance and plenty, Nick. Stay faithful, bud!
First year since 2019 we’ve had good rain.. so good we couldn’t get some replanted for the 3rd time.😂 one of these years you’ll get a some drought breaking weather.
Many years ago when I found your channel and subscribed it happened to be from one of the buds getting buried in the mud. How times have changed in the last 6-7 years
We are 2 hours north from where you are, I have driven past your place a number of times years back, and we have had quite a bit of rain.🇨🇦
I was driving through headed east by the border, hopefully they got the rain like Saskatchewan did there 10 days ago. I don't know how many days we are behind from when this was recorded but man It poured
Thank you for the lesson on the growing of your crops. You explained it in very good terms that I could understand.I really like and enjoy your you tube videos. Please keep them coming and I like the way you explain what is going on. Thank you very much.
Here in my part of Md everything is burning up with lack of rain an temps in the mid 90s. We're probably a week away from a completely failed corn an soybean crop
Prayers that you all get the rain needed for a good crop this year
In southeast Saskatchewan we are not in the same boat in fact the tap hasn't turned off and we are too wet. It's been very cool and very wet our crops need some stress with some heat.
The Pete is looking good prayers for rain for you guys
Praise god here in south east Alabama it started out in the spring extremely wet then it got really hot and dry thank god we been getting some rain every few weeks
Couldn’t you take the apachy with the narrow tires and spray water or is it too mutch cost for some lost profit?
Hang in there.
im in iowa and one of our 1000 acre sections has had about 30 inches of rain this year already
Good vid. Explained your conditions very well. Thanks for sharing your family's endeavors. God Bless
South of the Oklahoma Panhandle we have had less than 2" since January 7th, 6 months ago. The kochia weeds grew 3" tall and died.
Great info! Love these style videos. So relaxing to see those beautiful fields
