Glad I'm not the only one who thinks a Rusty Nail is PERFECT for the Winter holidays! Also, to anyone who reads this and plans to try this drink - do NOT forget your expressed lemon oil! It is the unofficial third ingredient in this drink and without it, your nail won't be as.... rusty?.. as it should be. Cheers everyone, have a great weekend!🥃
Love the Rusty Nail, it's my go to drink because it tastes so damn good, just a perfect balance. This and the Churchill Manhattan are almost perfect drinks.
@@tedwojtasik8781 Couldn't agree more, aaaaaand a big thank you, I have never heard of a Churchill Manhattan. Just looked it up, and now I have to try it. Cheers!
@@kevinthomson6324 I do an orange peel sometimes too, but since it's a sweet drink already and it has no bitters, I like the lemon. But either way, it's a fantastic drink.
The eggnog is the first cocktail I made from this channel and Anders my wife says thank you! She loves this drink maybe more than any drink I’ve made for her. 10/10 absolutely amazing!
“I call it S’No Problem…” *pause* “That’s a great name.” 😂 that got me goin, Anders. Another great video man love to see how your channel, filming, and editing has grown and improved over time.
Always tempted to pick up a bunch of new bottles when a video of yours comes out. You've been instrumental in helping me build out my home bar and becoming more knowledgeable so thank you!
Great work Anders, port cocktails are amazing. My go to drink this winter is ‘hot’ versions of classic cocktails I love, such as a hot grog, hot Boulevardier, hot monte cassino, hot R.B. Yacht Club, hot Sherry Warmer (amontillado + sugar + cinnamon + orange slices). Cheers
Nice video. Thank you. Looking forward to trying your Eggnog specs. If listeners want to try something lighter and with less ABV than Eggnog then I'd recommend a Sherry Flip: - 2 oz. Lustau Amontillado ‘Los Arcos’ Sherry (any dry sherry). - 0.5 oz. Demerara syrup (2:1). - 1 whole Egg. - Dry shake for 15 seconds to emulsify and thicken. - Shake with ice and strain to chilled rocks or coupe glass. Top with grated nutmeg.
Made the chocolate punch as an after dinner drink on Christmas Day. Really nice drink Anders exactly what I was looking for and as you say extremely decadent. 1 down and definitely a few more to go lovely. Keep up the good work. A noble beast tomorrow.
For kicks I took the eggnog recipe and subbed out 1oz of the rum for Licor 43 (leaving the remaining .5oz as rum) and swapped the Amontillado Sherry with an Oloroso Sherry instead. It was quite nice! Thank you for these amazing cocktails!
What’s up Anders? I have been quietly watching your videos and often refer to it for pointers and guidance. In fact, you adept knowledge is a reliance to me like no other. Needless to say, you have been influential in my learning of bartending and the industry. I’ve recently incorporated your recipe of Egg Nog and it has been met with nothing other than delightfulness.
So very much love in the comments for that rusty nail. Never tasted it. Just had the egg nog though. And the Negroni before that. Hmmmm..... to third cocktail of the evening or not to third cocktail of the evening.... Tempting.
Thanks for the S'no Problem. I love tea and there aren't enough tea based cocktails for my liking. I currently infuse gin with different types and flavors of teas and they make great gin and tonics.
I've inadvertently kept homemade eggnog for about a year due to it being hidden in the back of my fridge. Was a little scary, had the consistency of paint, and was delicious. I make my bulk nog STRONG and the alcohol acts as a preservative.
Love the use of Smith and Cross in the S'no Problem. I find it can overpower some cocktails (although is perfect in something like a Jungle Bird) - but 1/2 oz is often its sweet spot to give just a little funk. Can't wait to try this one.
Haven't tried it yet but I could imagine that the s'no problem would be really lovely with a yunnan red/black tea. Like a Dian Hong, which often have notes of chocolate, coco, honey and caramel!
As someone who is not super big on Eggnog, I actually had everything at home to make yours, and I have to say it’s amazing, and for a single serving it is perfect.
Just recently discovered your channel that has inspired me to dive into the realm of cocktail mixing. Outstanding content that makes me hope that I'm not too late to view many more ideas and recipes to come. Happy New Year!
These recipes were just delightful! I knew the Rusty Nail, but a single serve Egg Nog? Very nice. We have a lot of visitors over the holidays, many of whom always seem to be thirsty, and these recipes will be nice additions. Happy Holidays to you and Az!!
I can’t wait to try all of these! I usually make 2 or 4 servings of a cocktail at parties. Do you have any suggestions for recipe adjustments or tips when shaking 4 servings at once? More ice? What is the capacity of a shaker? How should I divide the drink into the glasses? Also, people like to watch, how can I make that more interesting/fun? Thanks!
Oh man, I am so stoked to make these! I have been binging your videos because I just got the cov-bug, and I just bought "And a Bottle of Rum" and I'm halfway through. Thank you for all the attention you give to your craft and thanks for sharing it with us!
Hey Anders- I bought a bottle of that Smith & Cross a while ago, and while it's great neat, its funkiness has not meshed well with the few cocktails I've tried it in. Would appreciate a video using it as the base spirit in a recipe that highlights its uniqueness. Thanks much, love ur content.
I love watching you make drinks. So well presented. Thank you for the awesome ideas. Having a Friendsgiving next Sat and would be great for that. Any updates for this year would be awesome.
My December specials menu was just about to go up, may have to make some adjustments. Some of these sound really good. Rusty Nail is always available at TCB. Specials were going to be: Stinger, Elks Own (an Anders original), Slovanian Sato (a sweetened mulled white wine with egg, kicked up with a little brandy and dry curacao, served hot, whipped to foamy) and Boston Flip (rye, rainwater madeira, rich simple and whole egg) (one off egg nogs are always available too). Then a classic tiki, which I haven't settled on yet - maybe Coffee Grog.... I might have to sub in one or two of Anders' recipes.... what would you pick? Will also be making a bowl of Tom & Jerry's sometime near the holiday.
I never noticed the Yuletidal Wave in the Smuggler's Cove book. Probably because it's listed with the punches. I have a nice spiced pear liqueur from St. George that should fit nicely in this drink, especially with the allspice dram. And I like that you use cognac instead of brandy, which I'm not a huge fan of.
I made myself an Alexander, cause I thought it would go well with this video and it did, but then the chocolate punch came and now all I want is that... Sadly I'm all out of cognac, this'll have to wait, but definitely making that. Love your video's, keep up the good work!
Looking forward to the Chocolate Punch :) also, I've asked a couple of times....do you have a go to recommendation for buying fun types of stirring drink sticks/straws/swivel sticks?
Hi Anders. Theres a swedish version of eggnog (i guess it might be exactly the same thing, depending on whoever designs the recipe) . I did try yours,, with slightly different ingrediences , other suger, other rum brand, it was awesome!. I havnt tried the swedish version. It's called Äggtoddy. If i remember right you have some swedish heritage right? Maybe it's something you want to try.. i cant guarantee it's good, but maybe fun to try. The usual recipe is to whip egg yolks with suger so they turn in to a thick foam, then add liquor of choise (rum, cognac, calvados or bourbon).
Anders the S'no Problem sounds amazing! I can't wait to try it. I have a feeling it'll be the drink of the holidays around my house (even over the aged egg nog that's been hogging my fridge for months😂) Cheers!
Great collection! Thank you for a hot tea based drink, so often winter bar concoctions are coffee or cider based drink - do you think the S'no Problem would work with Lapsang Souchong, Earl Grey or a Chai mix?
Hi again. You have mentioned aquafaba as a substitute for egg whites. Would you only use the liquid from a can of chick peas? Or do you think any of the powders (such as they sell on Amazon..) are good? I'd love to learn more about this... If you have discussed it in a previous video maybe somebody can point me to it (?) THANKS
Love the video! I know you've got summer videos from earlier in the year, just suggesting it'd be really cool for a video compacting some of the coolest Christmas holiday cocktails for us in the heat of the Southern Hemisphere.
Delightful array of holiday cocktails Anders! I am happy to start and end the holiday season with a delicious Rusty Nail! The beautiful combination of scotch and Drambuie are huge favourites at Christmas! For anyone who works in the field of clinical psychology this is a busy season! I happily look forward to working my way through these gorgeous cocktails and they all look and sound spectacular! What a treat to look forward to! Your creation look amazing - #6!! Happy Holidays to you both!! Cheers!! 🙂
I have to admit, I don't like nutmeg. I work in a dairy, and our regular eggnog flavor reminds me of the pink Extra gum. However, we also make a cinnamon-flavored nog, and it's delicious with bourbon! And as a hot tea drinker, I will definitely be trying the s'no problem! ❤️
They all look amazing! Will def have to try ‘em especially since I placed my first order with Curiada after watching this. I can’t get a lot of the same booze you use in my town so I’m thankful for the tip where to purchase and the free shipping coupon!
I LOVE the Yule Tidal Wave (a huge fan of tiki drinks + such great variety of alcohol!) and the S'No Problem! If I ever get all ingredients, I'll try both. Or maybe I'll make em without some of the ingredients.
Definitely going to try the sno-problem since I love hot tea! Do you have any recommendations for drinks that peppermint? Seems like there are not enough minty drinks for the holidays.
With shaken cocktails, Anders, the best yield I've gotten is with one large and one cracked of clear ice in a tin. However, my cracking game is sub par and usually ends up with ice flying all over, so I switched to your silicone molds with of course had made making ice cubes easier and cute. However, in shaken cocktails, such as one of my favorites the Jack Rose, I have lower cocktail yield and much more ice particles in need of fine strain to not result in a slushy. How can I prevent this from occurring using your molds? Your cocktails seem to always have adequate final yield

Haha lemon makes it rusty. Cheers, Dimitar!
Rusty nail is my second favorite cocktail do mine with a orange peel. Second to a old fashioned

That egg nog recipe was spectacular and a HUGE hit this year! Do you have an egg nog recipe that can be made as a large batch?
I love all your “single serve” recipes for stuff that’s not often single serve - thank you!

I wrote off the Rusty Nail for such a long time. Had one recently, and it's shockingly so good. Really excited to try the Littlest Rebel tonight!
Enjoy it!
I love how I chuckled to myself at the name just long enough to fill the gap of silence when anders introduce the sno problem
Can you make this egg nog recipe as a large batch? Maybe you can make a video of it!
I have made your Sn'o problem and drinking it right now. I am pleasantly surprised by the warmth and depth of the flavours. Cheers!
Nothing better than a rusty nail. It is my all time favorite cocktail especially when ice begins to melt into the cocktail.
I am majorly impressed that you covered 6 cocktails clearly and comprehensively, in only 8 minutes... 😝
Nice video. Thank you. Looking forward to trying your Eggnog specs. If listeners want to try something lighter and with less ABV than Eggnog then I'd recommend a Sherry Flip:

Anders, thank you for offering alternatives for those us who choose a non-dairy/non-egg lifestyle.
Oh, that S'No Problem is good! I believe I have a new favorite holiday/winter time drink.
Definitely gonna try a S'no Problem this weekend! Brunch haters gonna hate, but this sounds like a perfect winter brunch cocktail.

Question: Would you rather cop an original grain watch or a bottle or Fortaleza winter blend 2022?
Well that was fun! Can’t wait to try some….tak! 🤙
all of these look amazing!
Hey Anders, how do you make your fresh pineapple juice? Is it as simple as blending pineapple chunks?
I’m going to suggest the Rusty Nail and your egg nog as the specialty cocktails at the club bar this weekend. Hot tips!
.5oz Hoarfrost Sour Apple Vodka
.5oz Laird’s Applejack
.5 oz Amaro Nonino
1oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz rich demerara syrup
Egg white
Dry shake, cold shake, double strain into coupe, and dust with cinnamon.
Enjoy!
two questions:
1) Can you point me to a good recipe for one year aged egg nog? B) Would Lapsang Souchong overpower the "s'no problem"?
Man! You've just complicated my Christmas booze table. All sounds -and will be- amazing 🤩
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 🎄 🤶🍹
Gotta try the s’no problem. Sounds right up my alley! #daydrinking
